Surprise from Tink

WL CL = Wilderness Lodge Concierge Level :sunny:

Another cute thing to do is be the first person to Tinkerbell's Treasures when it opens in the morning. You are then the person who gets to let Tinkerbell out of her drawer for the day. pixiedust:

I havent done this from Tinkerbell yet, but this is what we do for notes from the tooth fairy:
We use one of the handwriting fonts in the smallest size and type her up a tiny note then take clear sparkly paint and lightly go over it. Once dry I roll it up, tie with a very thin ribbon and then leave a silver glitter trail from the window to the note.
At Disney, I'ld probably just do a little bit of glitter by the note instead of the trail, to keep Mousekeeping happy

:thumbsup2 OK.... I have to learn how you do this font stuff. That is the absolute most convincing idea yet for my DD! All the little details really would make it special for her! All of these are really great ideas from everyone, :grouphug: certainly one of the most magical thread for me ... Thanks to all! :Pinkbounc

I will be going to Disney with my DS who will be 8, DD 3, and DN x3 - ages 2,5,8 and was wondering if the two older kids would be too old for these special gifts from the characters. Also I would be doing this for all the kids since my SIL is a major penny pincher and probably would not do anything extra for her kids. Do you think this would be taking on too much? I really want to make this special for all the little ones. It will be the first trip to Disney for my DN's and I know they love the princesses. I really want my kids to have these little special things and I know I cannot leave out my DN's.
Help! Should I go ahead and do it for all or none? If I do it for all can I get suggestion for the older two. The little girls are no problem - they'll believe anything! Thanks!! pirate: princess: princess: princess: princess:

kcgirl,
I'd do it for all the kids. Start stocking up now, you can find clearanced stuff at the Disney store, check your dollar stores, and Wal-Marts or Target. You can do new Disney toothbrushes for all, open a pack of stickers and give them each a sheet, even non-Disney stuff, like the fans that have spray bottles attached are great. If you find a good deal, you can get them each their own disposable camera. They have Disney chapsticks with 2 to a pack.

We go in a week, my DDs are 4 and 6. So far all I have come up with are some lip glosses at Target they want, and I am afraid to get those, they have begged for them for weeks now! I found some Princess fruit snacks in a big pack for 99 cents at Walgreens the other day.

One day on our last trip, I ran back "make sure I unplugged the curling iron" and put out a note I'd done on the computer inviting them to the Princess Tea w/ Aurora.

I need to leave them w/ DH a few hours and go pick up a few things! And soon! Leaving in a week!

kcgirl,

If it's too much to do things for the kids each day as some posts have said, what if you did just one day for all of them or one small gift each day instead of a bag of goodies? That's probably what I'd do if I had my niece and nephew. That way they all still get to experience the magic and you don't have to spend too much (if that's an issue).

Okay, I want to type up a little note from Tink, but I am the biggest computer idiot, and have no idea how to get the Disney font over to my Microsoft Word. Anyone know how to teach the village idiot? :rotfl2:

Here's how I do it missummer. Not guaranteeing that I do it the easiest way, but maybe this will help.

1. Go to the website and download the font. I got mine from here. If you look around, they have lots of cute fonts that you may like also (my daughter doesn't recognize "disney" and I am using a different one for different characters that looks like them; for example a cutsy one for tinkerbell, the mickey one for mickey, etc)
Mom's Corner Fonts

2. To download, you click on the font you want, then on that page a file download box will pop up/appear. You will need to save the zip file somewhere on your computer (be sure to KNOW where you are saving it to).

3. Unzip the file by going to where you saved it and just double click on it and then follow the on-screen instructions. This is also important to make sure you remember where you put it. (I made a FONTS folder in my My Documents so that I can copy them over to another computer easily when I want.)

4. Close the zipping program.

5. Open My Computer and move to the location where you unzipped the file. Just leave that open where you can see the font(s).

6. Go to your control panel. In Windows XP, you get there by just going start - control panel.

7. Double Click Fonts

8. Go back to the font you downloaded (in the my computer window). Right click on it and say copy.

9. Go back to the Font window and right click in a blank white space and say paste.

10. Your font is now downloaded. This may look sorta confusing, but it's really not. After I learned to do it, I went font crazy and I have too many fonts now. I can never make a decision. :lmao:

Good luck. And if you need more help, feel free to PM me and I'll clarify any of these that seem murky. I know that different computers sometimes react slightly different

FYI If you already have Microsoft Word open, you may have to exit and then come back into it to see the fonts. I am not sure when this happens, but I've seen that situation on some computers. On my computer, it is there instantly.

I just bought some new tink surpises last night. Bought 4 of the small poc action figures. Also bought some snacks at walmart that are disney themed. Pirate rolls is what we bought. They look like ho hos and have captain hook and pan on the box. They a bunch of different types. I'll give them these in the travel day surprises. I also got some belly washers with the cars on the lids for the plane ride gift.

I see a few people type up notes from Tinkerbell to the kids. What kind of things do you say?

Thanks everyone for the ideas. I am going to do the suprises for sure now. Instead of everyday, maybe I'll do it every other day. I've already looked on the disney outlet website and found these cute pj's for $4.99 each - great deal, :thumbsup2 so I think this will be their 1st welcome gift. Also our trip is not til June so I have some time to stock up.

I haven't done them from Tink yet, I am just starting. I did get my girls a dress with Minnie on it so i made a little card with Minnie's picture and the Minnie Font and just said (something like this) "Hello Girls and Welcome Back to Disney. Mickey & I missed you since you were here last May. I saw these dresses and just knew they would look so cute on you. Maybe you can wear them at dinner tonight at Chef Mickey's. Can't wait to see you tonight."
I am going to leave them on the bed when we go out our first afternoon there so when we get back, they will get them.

Thinking of doing something from Cinderella our next day since we are doing lunch at CRT, maybe just, had a great time seeing you at lunch today...

Can't wait to see other's posts to get some other ideas.

Tinkerbell will actually be coming to our house (a la Santa) for DD before this trip. We bought her a bunch of stuff for the plane and a tink backpack that we are going to tell her Tink dropped off in the middle of the night. We'll put it out with some "pixie dust" and a note. She's too little to recognize handwriting at this point.

I love the ideas for giving invites for character dining. Can't wait to do that one when she is a little older.
