We're going to WDW for my wife's 40th birthday next summer. I'm new to these boards although my wife frequents them. As she makes all the bookings, arrangements etc I'm not sure where to start.

I want to make her birthday special and would like suggestions on what I could do for her and if I need to book anything in advance how I would do this? We'll be going with our daughter who will be 13

This is my first post so please be kind.

Hi there! :wave2: What a thoughtful hubbie you are! :thumbsup2
There are loads of special things you could do - sky's the limit really (not to mention your wallet and her personal tastes!) If she's into pampering there are several spas onsite (Grand Floridian and Saratoga Springs for example) you could book her something there. Or what about a meal at Victoria and Albert's (also at the Grand Floridian) - read all about it here: www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/dining/diningdetail.cfm?Restaurant.ID=33

Depends on your tastes really. Happy planning... :cool1:

I read somewhere, but can't for the life of me think where, about a couple having a romantic dinner on the beach with a personal butler.

Or you could do a birthday Illuminations or Wishes Cruise. We did the Illuminations cruise joining up with two other US families from DIS and we booked at meal first to "get to know each other" and had a great night, highlight of the holiday.

I think that can be arranged at the Grand Floridian too! :teeth:

A horse and carriage ride around the wilderness lodge or the port orleans resorts,
A lunch with a red rose presentation in Cinderellas castle,
fantasmic dinner package at Brown Derby,
Just a quiet evening strolling through the magic kingdom with time spent in one of the more romantic spots ie the fountain beside the castle or the little rose garden,
a segway tour followed by dinner at Alfredos,
dinner in the illuminations viewing spot at Rose and Crown

***sigh*** you can tell I'm single!

I've recently returned from WDW for my 40th birthday and I guarantee that whatever you do will be extremely memorable - we went to Le Cellier incidentially, and then a 10 day cruise with DCL.

We are celebrating my 40th in February and have booked the premium birthday package at Discovery Cove. Having swam with the dolphin at DC before, I'm hoping the birthday package will make my birthday that little bit extra special. :yay:

Be sure to have her pick up a free "birthday pin" at Guest Services as soon as she enters a park. ;)
