Ok, please don't think I'm nuts with what I am asking!!! DD, almost 4 (oct), thniks that Tinkerbell, and the other princess's watch her and report back to Santa Claus, if she's good or not. We are going to Disney DEc 7-14, staying at AKL, she thinks because Santa sent her there to see Tink and the princess's because she's been good. The question is, How do I get a surprise in the room before we check in, even if it's just a card from the princess's or tink...........she really does think TInk is here everyday!!! We open the front door in the morning to let all of the princess's in to play!! Gotta love a child's imagination. Your thoughts on this would be great.
Thanks :)

When my family went to WDW, my niece was 3 years old. I suggested to my SIL that she purchase some Disney character dolls before the trip to save on some money. She packed them in an extra suitcase (which left some room for some items purchased at WDW). Before my SIL went to bed, she placed a new doll on my niece's bed. The next morning she told my niece that Mickey stopped by while she was sleeping and wanted to give her a present.

My guess would be that the cm's at the hotel would be very willing to help. If you are checking in before your room is ready you could leave the card, toy, or whatever with your luggage, with the instructions and could probably get it placed on your childs bed. You could probably also arrange something through disneyflorist.com or Gifts of a Lifetime, but that would be more $$$. When we went to Disneyland last we purchased Princess and Buzz chocolates coins and were able to hide them as we went along through the parks. Made the waits in line very fun for dd (then 3) and ds (then 1) looking for the next coin. They thought Mickey was leaving the coins just for them!

Too cute about your daughter believing in Tink and the Princesses too. My daughter just turned 4 this week and she insists she IS Tinkerbell. Gets quite the laugh whenever people ask her name and she tells them Tinkerbell. princess:

Your best bet is to bring your own card, or gifts from home. Disney staff are not the most reliable when it comes to surprises in the room. I'm sure part of the issue is that you have to have your room assigned prior to leaving things. Perhaps you could place a card or toy in the room before she see it and tell her Tink left it. Many people celebrate special occasions at Disney, but not all of them are acknowledged. Best to bring your own surprises for your dear little girl.

I agree with all the above about bringing your own surprises.....

Since you are staying at AKL, what about after you have checked in at the desk............one of you take her out to the arusha rock to see all the animals while the other go up with the bellman to drop your things. Get the surprises set up neat on a chair or bed...........then go join them by the animals. When you all go up - surprise !!!

I know when we check in they want to hurry out to see what animals are walking about. Very easy to be distracted at AKL.

Just a thought here. When my children were very young and had to go to bed while I was away at a meeting, I would go into their rooms when I came home and kiss their hands with lipstick on. Then in the morning, they knew I had thought of them during the night. Your daughter could receive a kiss from a different "princess" and "tinkerbell" each night. Yes it gets on the sheets sometimes, but my kids loved it.

I wouldn't arrange for it to be in your room upon arrival. Your room may be blocked for you but until you are checked in that room could be assigned to someone else. You don't want them to be enjoying your surprise.

Wait until after you are checked in, maybe arrange for it while you are out at the parks.

When we were at POR in early June, I asked the CM when we checked in if they could have a card or something sent to DD(8)
from Cinderella. Her birthday was 2 1/2 weeks away. On our 2nd day at the Park we came "home" to find an awesome card from Cinderella w/her Birthday greetings and autograph. I'm not sure if you were looking for anything like that but CM might be able to send "Tinkerbell Wishes". I really like the idea of leaving little chocolate coins or stuffed Disney characters everywhere. A suggestion on how to do this--maybe you or DH could take your DD out for a walk or see the animals or whatever while you "finish getting ready". Then you can put one of her surprises in a spot where she'll find it....in a drawer, in her suitcase, on her pillow. Of course the real secret and hard part will be how to get the "surprises" to Disney w/o her seeing it!!!

Have a wonderful time. Reminds me of playing Santa and Easter Bunny! :Pinkbounc

Thanks for all of your great suggestions....I love the one about kissing her hand while she is asleep....that's so so cute. Thinking of doing that tonight,,,ha ha :))

Thanks Again

On our upcoming trip in December, it will just be me, DH and DD(8) at Disney (older DD is just starting college).

I am trying to plan a surprise for DD to find in our room each day. I ordered some pins from the Pinshoppe for trading, I'll probably buy her a little stuffed animal one day while we're there (without her knowing), etc. I'll be packing some bags and tissue to put the surprises in so each day, DH will stop at the gift shop or food court or something to occupy her while I set it up!

I'm still trying to think of some things for the other two days we'll be there - if anybody has any suggestions for things they have done, please let me know!!! I'm also going to arrange for the "Dog Bones" dessert at the Grand Floridian! My DD loves dogs, and would love to be a dog!!!

Last year, on our trip in Oct, for our first day there, I arranged for Disney Florist to deliver a Mickey basket to our room! It was there when we got back from Ohanas, and the card was signed "Mickey and Friends"!! Allison was so surprised and she loved all the things it included (camera, autograph book, pen, stuffed Mickey, etc)

Good luck and have a great trip!!!!
