Surprise birthday suggestions?

This year my family and I had planned on celebrating my oldest daughter's birthday at WDW in November. Unfortunately, my DH lost his job in December. It was completely unexpected.

The good news is we are still going to WDW! However, we had to scale back our trip and push the dates up to June. We still want to surprise my daughter and celebrate her birthday because the trip was initally planned for her. My DH and I decided we would call it her half birthday surprise!

Anyway, I am asking for any suggestions on how to surprise her on this trip.
What have you done? How can I really surprise her?

We have been to WDW several times so I am trying to do something that she has never seen or done before. She will be 9 1/2 almost 10.

I'm so sorry about your DH's job ... But I'm happy that you're still able to go to WDW!!

Does DD know about the trip or is it going to be a total surprise? Hmmm ... So, if you're now going in June, it'll be DD's UNbirthday. I'm getting an Alice in Wonderland vibe! "A very Merry Unbirthday to you ..." and all that.

Anyway, I'm the worst at coming up with clever surprises, especially when they're Disney-related. I always tend to mooch off of others ... i.e. YouTube.

My daughter was in WDW for her 10th birthday last year. One of the things she liked best was going to Downtown Disney alone with her Dad to buy whatever she wanted. She loves clothes, shoes, bags - she's a typical female

This time alone with her Dad to pick out her own special birthday present was what she really liked!

Great ideas! Thank you. My DD LOVES to shop, so I think she would really enjoy going with her dad to Downtown Disney. Never thought about that one, and it would be a big surprise for her. Thanks!
