Surgery Day!

Glad to hear he's doing well! How's the momma holding up?

I am good...tired though! I am so happy that my boy is tolerating all this so well. I have just been napping right along with him. This on top of my grandpa's surgery last week is a little too much. :goodvibes

hope you both get a good night sleep tonight!

a little something is heading Jack's way...hope it brightens his day and helps keep him occupied!

Kicky's had some horrible medicine too - I used a syringe when he was younger followed by nice drink (otherwise it fell off the spoon:rolleyes1). He's not so bad now but still makes a fuss! Roll on tablets.

Glad your little one is doing better:hug: I'm sure that will make you feel better too!

Glad to hear he doing better and taking the meds. So sorry I missed this! Back when E had his they didn't flavor meds ( I owned the pharmacy it was out there but VERY few places did it certianly none here) and he took it I think 3 times then went to motrin. He was 3 and HATED it. Dr said if he's hurting he'll take it if not don't worry abt it. I was worried!!! But after fighting the 3rd dose into him I couldn't take it so I treated him like a "big kid" and told him he had a choice hurt of take 1 of the two of them I think the only time he took the tylenol with codine after that was the one day we were at a cubscout camp day 4 post op and he was doing alot! I think back on it like what was I thinking but he survived and is still STUBBORN gee wonder where he gets that:rolleyes1.
hang in there glad your napping when he does.

hope Jack is feeling better :goodvibes and you are holding up

Thanks everyone for checking in on us! Yesterday was rough! He was with my aunt for a part of the day and she was not pushing fluids like we have been and he started feeling really bad. It was to the point that he was drooling rather than swallowing! :sad2: The meds were a big battle yesterday, but after the first dose it got easier. I tried just doing regular tylenol, but 1. it is almost as big of a fight as the prescription and 2. it obviously does not work as well.

I am at work today. I feel really guilty being here, but with my grandpa's surgery 2 weeks ago I missed some hours and I wanted to make those up (oh the joys of being hourly!) Say some prayers that he starts feeling a little better and that we get some rest.

Speaking of rest, on a positive note I put DS in his bed to sleep last night. I cranked the baby monitor way up and DH and I slept much better. I cannot co-sleep. :goodvibes

Lisa, we will be looking for your surprise, Jacka LOVES to get mail! :goodvibes

When I was a kid and my mum would say "I'd rather be sick than have you sick" I used to think "well, that's a daft thing to say!":rolleyes1 Now I'm a mum myself I completely identify with that and know just what you're going through! Here's hoping he'll be in the emnd soon - have you tried milkshakes? they sort of stick to the throat more and cool it (or so I find when Kicky has tonsillitis)

A spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down! even if is as chocolate syrup.

We have issues with getting meds down. DD can't do pills, and her meds don't come in liquid form. We've been at various stages, crushed and in juice, applesauce, yogurt. right now it's in peanut butter. PB hides the taste fairly well.

Glad to hear Jacka did well in his surgery. :)

Hello Everyone!

Just wanted to update that we are doing okay. Yesterday was a pretty good day, we were able to keep meds on schedule all day with no battles! :yay: It was wonderful!

I love the PB pill idea! That is fantastic, I will have to keep that in my bag of tricks.

Mazda I totally understand your Mum's comment! I have felt that way many times this week.:goodvibes

Lisa and Megan, Jacka got his mail yesterday and he was thrilled!!! When I get the pictures uploaded I will post one. That was very sweet of you!
