Surfing at Typhoon Lagoon

What are the options for surfing at Typhoon Lagoon (for an adult) if you are not renting out the whole place for a party? I've heard you can either take the surfing class, or if there is a group trying to buy time you might be able to get a slot that way.

I looked into it a few times but never did it because it is first thing in the morning and you need transportation.
I believe the class was like 12 people and a couple hundred but can't recall exactly.
We got a DVD for the kids called ultimate Disney and they talk/show it on there too, maybe you can find it on youtube.

When my husband and I did the surf lessons, there were a good mix of beginner and more experienced (weekend warrior type) surfers and everybody had a good time. Each wave cycle released two waves: a fun wave and a gentle whitewater wave right after it for the beginners to get pushed into. There was a father and son from OBX in our class... they obviously knew how to surf very well already and they still had a blast riding in the pool and trying to get the hang of low-buoyancy freshwater surfing.

If you can't find a group to join in the booking, I'd say go for the lesson!
