We are staying 6 nights at PBH and I am starting to get stuff ready, so I have two questions:

  1. What size filters do the in-room coffee makers take? 4 cup or 10/12 cup? Cone filters or baskets?
  2. Is the in-room internet connection wired or wireless? If wired, is there more than one outlet/jack?

The in room coffee makers brew single serving cups of coffee and include 8-10 complimentary K-cups, Keurig's all-in-one coffee and filter. We love our Keurig coffee maker although we aren't wild about the Emeril coffee flavors the PBH provides.

From experience the wireless access in rooms is spotty at best and seems to only last long enough to charge your credit card. ;) There maybe areas of the hotel that offer free wireless access (lobby, common areas), but we always pony up and pay for the wired access in the room. I've only ever noticed a single internet connection in the rooms, although I'm sure the Suites would offer more than a single wired connection.

You're going to love your stay at the PBH. We're 17 days away and SO excited.

Thanx much for the reply! Now that I think about it I do remember reading about the Keurig machines at PBH. I look forward to trying that and now I won't have to pack coffee and filters! We just returned from a family reunion in Kansas and the hotel we were at had the *worst.coffee.ever*!!! Bad tap water and weak coffee 'packets' in the room and a Nescafe' machine in the lobby - I thought "heck, I can go to Disney for Nescafe'".:lmao:

I hope the Keurig packets are STRONG enough, but Emeril's BAM! coffee sounds like it might be, LOL.

I am Loews Blue so we will get the free internet. We will be taking 2 laptops so maybe we will wire one and try wireless for the other if there is only one wired outlet. Or I can set-up a temporary ad-hoc wireless connection from the wired one to the other. I saw this in a video on CNet and I want to try it out. Either way I will pack an extra Cat 5 cord just in case.

We are so looking forward to PBH! When we planned this trip we assumed we would be at RPH because it is usually the least expensive, so imagine our surprise when PBH came up cheaper by $24/night!!! We are 19 days away -- see ya there! :woohoo:

I am at PBH now, its wired in the room, and if you have the suite you will have 2 connections, have not tried wireless, as we had it in DonCesar and it was more of than on. Like Nashville says the Emerils coffee is not great.

How quick my memory fades, I had already forgotten about free internet for Blue/Gold/Platinum. We got the free internet at the RPR in June and its a great perk.

Hope to see you around. For the purposes of this trip we'll be the NashvilleQuintet. My wife's parents are joining us for the first time, so if you see some experienced 30-somethings, confused 60-somethings and an excited 9 year old boy at the PBH, say hello.

Internet is free in the common areas...which is why you will notice a lot of peeps on laptops in the lobby.

As for PBH....we actually ended up turning the wireless off in the room and going with the wired. That seemed to keep the connection better. ;)

Like Nashville says the Emerils coffee is not great.

So what don't you like about the Emerils coffee? Too strong? Too weak? Bad flavor? On the Keurig website it looks like there are 3 different flavors of Emerils coffee. Does PBH offer all 3 in the room or just one? :surfweb:

There are only 2 types of coffee, at least in our room, and 1 is decaff.
It leaves a bitter taste in the mouth IMHO, it does for a quick caffine fix in the morning, but prefer to go out and buy a cuppa later, there is also 2 pods of tea, never tried it so cannot comment on it.

We're bringing 10-12 K-Cups from home (Columbian and Italian), but in a pinch the Emeril's will do. Perhaps a little too much BAM for my taste.
