Surf Lessons?

My DH (50) and DD (25) want to take the surf lessons together. But, DH doubts his swimming ability. We have a pool at home and he swims fine. He dives off the diving board & all that fun stuff. He just can't tread water.

How deep is the wave pool? What has been your experience? Any info would help to put DH worries to rest. TIA!

The wave pool at Typhoon Lagoon goes from a zero entry to 6.5 ft deep. The waves that are generated are six feet high.
