Surf and Turf Disney Style…..30 days of food on land and at sea! 06/16 WPE

Yay!! Signing on - I love your reviews!

I just went back to work last month after being home with our kids for ten years - so no vacation for us for a while :sad1: I'll have to live through reviews for the next year.

Just jumpin' onboard :thumbsup2
We have also just returned from 28 days in Disney, although we only managed 4 nights on the Disney Dream
Will be nice to compare places we have both eaten at. :goodvibes

Darn it! Wasn't it you who tempted me several months ago? :rotfl2: I may be seeing a trip to KK in my future. :rolleyes1

Hm, it "might" have been me, who tempted you, YES! :rotfl2: And may I add that you are SO lucky you CAN actually DRIVE to KK? It requires me to patiently sit on a plane for 10 hours. :lmao:
You better be prepared to be exposed to even more KK during this dining review, just a little "warning"! :lmao:

Thanks for all of the introductions to WPE. It was one of my DH's favorite places! The sad part was no creme brulee! :sad2:

We booked our airfare through Disney & it was really cheap. $369 for the both of us!

I need to get my photos downloaded so that I can get started. I've been so swamped here.

I am glad you enjoyed WPE! Tell me about no Creme Brulee! Happened to us twice this vacation.

Disney doesn't offer airfare to our small little airport - best thing is to do it ourselves, but lucky you, being able to get such a great rate.

And don't forget to post the link to your TR, so we can all read along! :thumbsup2

Must you do this to me on every dining review....you just have to post those wonderful little donuts dont you :rotfl2:

They are melt in your mouth fantastic....better than any glazed donuts I ever had!

Yes, it is required by the DISboards to "torture" you a little with KK doughnuts! :rotfl2:
Believe me, by the time we left in September, they thought KK stuff thought we were their friends! :rotfl2: :lmao:

YUM! I love KK, I actually had one today at work. A lot of the schools here do them as fundraisers so a lot of the people I work with are selling them for their kids.

I wish they would have fundraisers like that here - I would definitely volunteer if it included KK doughnuts! :thumbsup2

You know if I didn't have such a nasty cold those KK pictures would have sent me to the car and down to get some doughnuts but it's an hour drive.
We will be in Florida from Feb 6 - 27th. The first week will be at my mom's in Lakeland, then POR Feb 13- 19, then back to Lakeland with side trips to Anna Maria Island, St Augstine, IOA, and the space centre. I am so excited.

Hope your cold gets better real soon!
What a fun long vacation you have ahead of you! It's a shame we are going to miss you by a few days.

Yum yum! Krispy Kreme!:lovestruc

Can't wait to hear about Olivia's seeing as we will be going there in exactly ten months today!!!:yay: (Hopefully......)

I am sure these 10 months will be over before you know it!
We LOVE Olivia's, such a nice and usually very quiet little restaurant ...... and breakfast the first day is a must for us! :thumbsup2

:lmao: So true, Nicki!

:lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao:

One of these days, I'll actually eat at Wolfgang Puck Express thanks to your reviews. I just never seem to make it over there.

I really hope you get to try it! We love the food there - so good and such a deal on the DDP! :goodvibes

You're back! Can't wait to read about your adventures. Knew you would go to WPE first!

Yes, we are back! And booked already for next February and a month in the summer! :rotfl2:
Hm, you all know me too well, WPE is always our first and last meal! :thumbsup2

I need to check out your TR too! :goodvibes

Day 2, August 14

Olivia's Cafe

We were up pretty early this morning and were early for our 8am reservation. When we arrived we were the only guests and treated like royalty.

We were seated in a booth, ordered our drinks, coffee and orange juice for Tom and Earl Grey tea and orange juice for me.
And even without looking at the menu I knew what I wanted for my starter! :rotfl2: So we placed our orders and waited for our first WDW breakfast to arrive.

This is what I had been looking forward to for quite some time. Strawberries and cream.
It's a quite generous helping of strawberries, sprinkled with brown sugar and topped with a good amount of whipped cream. The strawberries were ripe and full of flavour and the brown sugar even enhanced the flavour - decadent with the whipped cream.
We shared them, even though I have to admit I had the bigger part! :rotfl2:

Tom had ordered the Conch Republic Omelet - with shrimp, avocado, and Pepper Jack Cheese, served with Olivia's breakfast potatoes and toast. Let me tell you, this was a wonderful omelet! There were lots of succulent shrimp and creamy avocado topped with cheese. I wasn't sure at first that avocado and omelet would work together, but it was really good.

I had opted for my favourite, the Traditional Eggs Benedict, two Poached Eggs with Canadian Bacon on an English Muffin with Key Lime Hollandaise. Now, Eggs Benedict are not easily found on an Austrian breakfast menu, so I often order them on vacation. These were very good. The muffin was toasted nicely and the bacon had just the right salty tasty. One of the eggs was cooked a little too much, but the other was really oozing out when cutting into it. And what I say about the Key Lime Hollandaise - an ever so light lime taste, so uplifting. Needless to say, we both cleared our plates! ;)

Next up - A Disney Florist treat

Oh how I wish I could start my morning with a great big bowl of strawberries and cream :)
Olivia's looks wonderful
What a lovely way to start your vacation

Me too! Those strawberries were SOOOOOOOO good! :goodvibes

You have to try Olivia's one day - it is a wonderful hidden away little restaurant with really yummy food! :thumbsup2

I love being the only party in the restaurant!
Looks like you had a lovely first breakfast!:thumbsup2

The breakfast was heavenly! Sooooooo good, just what I had dreamed about the better part of the year before! :goodvibes :lmao:

As for being first in the restaurant - since we were first we got a "tour" of the restaurant, which means, they walked through the whole restaurant, before we were seated very close to the entrance! :rotfl2: and as an added bonus most of the CMs working there this morning, came out to say hello! :lmao:

That is some breakfast you guys had there. It all looks absolutely amazing. I think I would have been so satisfied with those strawberries I wouldn't have needed anything else. But your Eggs Benedict looked so amazing it would have been a tough choice to choose between the two. So after this amazing breakfast you were set to go for the day.

So, what's for lunch? :)

Eggs Benedict please!:)

We're planning to go to Olivia's for dinner - we SO need to add a breakfast now!

As for the strawberries and cream.....:lovestruc

I thought I had subscribed but I hadn't! I'm here now and caught up. Love your reports!

The eggs benedict looks amazing. I am not a breakfast person but my gosh I almost want to go to Olivias to get that. Yum Yum Yum!

How were the breakfast potatoes?

That is an amazing looking breakfast! I love eggs benedict, but don't that all that often...and lime hollandaise...that sounds amazing.

Olivia's - The best kept secret TS restaurant in WDW! We LOVE it and have never had even a mediocre meal or service there. It's always been excellent. Glad you enjoyed your breakfast there. Great TR...keep it up!

I really want that omelette! Maybe I'll add Olivia's to my plans for next year.
