For airplane food, it looks like you did very well this trip.

Yes, we did pretty well, considering that this is airplane food. But we both could not wait for the really good stuff!

FEBRUARY TRIP UPDATE!

Ever since we got home we were watching plane fares for our February trip and they have gone up steadily.
I told Tom that € 2500,- for the two of us was the max I was willing to pay. Yesterday I checked and it was nearly 2300€ and I was really hoping for it to go down a bit.

Today we checked again and it was down to 1860€ for the two of us! Needless to say we bought airfare today and are now officially booked to go back to Orlando (and the DREAM) the third week of February!

I told Tom that € 2500,- for the two of us was the max I was willing to pay. Yesterday I checked and it was nearly 2300€ and I was really hoping for it to go down a bit.

Today we checked again and it was down to 1860€ for the two of us! Needless to say we bought airfare today and are now officially booked to go back to Orlando (and the DREAM) the third week of February!

Tell me about the plane fare! I was thinking it couldn't possibly go up anymore...WRONG! So we're still paying more than I'd like, but thankfully not more than $2000, which we were looking at. Its such a different story when we booked in July. But...school vacations when they are doesn't leave us with a lot of options.

I'm always amused by the food you get on your flights over...it looks so much better than any plane food I've ever seen here. Not that we see much more than a bag of pretzels anymore.

Im glad to see youve started another food report
Im doing a trip report at the moment, however lots of it is about food-yum yum.

I finally got to try Bubba Gumps in August and really enjoyed it.
I didnt quite enjoy it as much as I hoped-I think that was more due to the fact we were all tired.
I loved the shrimpers heaven, my husband got your fav
The food was delishious, will def hav to go again-perhaps will organise it a bit better next time.

Just on short note ......
out of curiosity I checked the airfare again for the flight we booked yesterday and the rate has gone up about 500 Euros!!!!!!!!!! I cannot tell you HOW happy we are that we booked it yesterday!

YAY!!!!! That's very exciting!

Plane fare - yip, it's a pain! It is very seldom that Lufthansa lowers their prices, so I consider myself extra lucky to have scored such a good price, especially after looking at the prices today.

To be honest, the food on the transatlantic flights is pretty good, it's just NOT Disney food

As for being on page 8 - I cannot believe myself how fast this thread is growing, not that I don't like it!

Please go back and try Bubba again, it is a lot of fun and as you already experienced ....... the food is yummy. I am planning on doing several meals there next year when we fly to Miami and have a few days on the Keys before we head to WDW.

Still Day 1, August 13

Take away from Wolfgang Puck's Express

Once we had arrived on American soil and picked up our rental car we first drove to our "home away from home" Old Key West, to check in and have a look at our villa.
Happy with the location and that we had still a little time before "bedtime" we quickly drove over to Publix to pick up a few essentials.

And then it was time to go and pick up the first one of many yummy American/Disney meals.
We walked into WPE, placed our order, used our AP to get a discount and waited for a few minutes for our order to get ready.
Once we had everything and got on the road again, we decided to make one more pitstop, but then headed back to Old Key West.

The table was quickly laid and we were ready to dig in.

We had ordered two sandwiches.

The Pesto Chicken Salad Sandwich, Basil pesto mixed with romaine lettuce, plum tomatoes and pieces of succulent, moist chicken and served with chips. Tom and I love this sandwich, it tastes fresh and light, there is plenty of salad and chicken and the chips are just a wonderful accompaniment.

Our second choice was the

Warm Turkey Melt Sandwich, a generous amount of Turkey meat, Cheddar cheese, caramelized onions and honey mustard dressing served with herbed fries. This is just another one of our favourites. The flavours go so well together and even though the fries got cold on the way, they were still delicious.

Once we had finished our sandwiches, we still had another treat left to indulge in ......


Next up - finally Krispy Kreme again
