I'm sooo late to the party but I have loved all of your reviews! You singlehandedly have made WPE a MUST for our upcoming trip! :thumbsup2 And while cruising was never something I've wanted to do,seeing Castaway Cay & all the nummy food has made me seriously rethink that stance!!:cool2:

Your meal at the Mara looks much better than my experience with the food there. I will have to go back again and try some of the more unique fare!

We usually go for the resort specific fare, especially at the CS places and we have had a few really good meals at the Mara.
Hope your next visit there is a good one too! ;)

I finally read this when I was full and it's much better for me to do that. :goodvibes

But>>>>>>>:scratchin...........I could..............:mickeybar

Glad you enjoyed it ...... I am craving a Mickeybar too! ;) :cloud9:

:woohoo: Great to have another lurker "delurk"! :rotfl2:
Olivia's definitely is a hidden gem .... we love it and make it a point to have breakfast there on our first day. :goodvibes

I do not want to spill all the beans, but we really enjoyed Boatwrights! ;) So glad you decided to join us for the TR and PRT as well! :woohoo:

Hi Jeff! :goodvibes

You would love to eat at the Mara - it is a wonderful place and I am sure you would find something you'd like there too .... and don't worry about feeding Molly and Philip, they do have mac and cheese and chicken nuggets everywhere. :rotfl2:

It's been a bit stressful here lately, but we are slowly getting into the rhythm again. We loved our weekend at DLRP and thought and talked about you a lot - I am sure your kids would love it there!

You are not late at all ....... there's still LOADS to come! :thumbsup2

:woohoo: for "inspiring" someone to dine at a fellow Austrian's restaurant - WPE!

As for cruising, if you had told me in the summer of 09 that I would go on a second cruise, I would have laughed it off. I was sure it was not for me, but Disney made it the most wonderful experience ever ...... I am sure you would love it too! :thumbsup2

I know what you mean about stress !! 2 years back i had someone mail me the maps from DLRP it was turned into a birthday gift for my mom cause she always said she would love to go but with her disabilities she will never be able to get there and she loved it
mapDisneyParis2.jpg

it says "when you wish upon a star " I would love to go but the honesty i would hate to be on a plane for more them 4-5 hours I might have to speek to a shrink to get over this cause i would also love to visit places on the other side of the pond as a friend said to me on this trip :wizard:
hope thing get easier and the stress goes down cause i have plenty of stress to give if anyone wants any :scared1:LOL:lmao:

What a neat gift! No wonder your mom loved it! :thumbsup2

Jeff, you do not need a shrink, just get yourself some sleeping aid and take enough of them to let you sleep through most of the flight - that's how we do it! :rotfl2:
I am sure you would LOVE good old Europe! ;)

Sorry to hear you have so much stress - ours is "just" homemade! Instead of trying to catch up with work over the weekend we fly to DLRP and get even further behind.
And next week I have enrolled in another two day course. So no catching up then either! :lmao:

Day 3, August 15

Boatwright's

We had cancelled our original reservation and instead of it we got a reservation at "the neighbours"

Port Orleans Riverside's Boatwright's Dining Hall. :thumbsup2

We arrived there a few minutes prior to our ADR and were told that our wait would be 5 - 10 minutes, so we went to find a seat, but about a minute later we were called in already. :goodvibes

The host took us to our table, right at the end of the main dining room, a nice and quiet 4 top.
He handed us a menu

and let us know that our server would be right with us.

The host was right. Our server was over within the next minute and we placed our Diet Coke drink order.
He was back with them shortly and brought out

the breadbasket, warm corn bread and butter. I am usually not a huge fan of corn bread, but this was light and soft and melted in your mouth.

We had been snacking all afternoon, so we decided against a starter and just ordered a main course.

IMG_0705.jpg

Tom ordered the Grilled Pork Chop with Amber Ale Barbecue Sauce, Cheesy Grits, and Onion Rings. Let me start by telling you that it was awesome. The chop was tender and juicy, the sauce was awesome and the cheesy grits were wonderful with it. This was our first brush with grits and we were pleasantly surprised! :thumbsup2 The onion rings were huge and not greasy at all. He loved it and the plate was cleaned. ;)

I had ordered the Grilled Tenderloin Medallions, served with mac and cheese, Crayfish beignet and red wine Demi-glace. Another HUGE hit! The meat was so tender you could have cut it with a fork and the Demi-glace was so good, I was tempted to lick it off the plate! ;) I have had mac and cheese before (they are NOT an Austrian staple) and was not overly impressed, but these were wonderful. The pasta was a nice al dente and the sauce was creamy and had a light cheese flavour, which went so well with the demi-glace. And while the crayfish beignet was nice I would not have needed it. ;)

Guess you can tell from the photo that we really enjoyed our main courses. :thumbsup2

Dessert was next ......

IMG_0710.jpg

Tom ordered a traditional southern favourite, the Pecan Pie. It was served slightly warm with a scoop of vanilla ice-cream. The crust was incredible, very light and crisp and the pecan part was not too sweet, loaded with nuts, plus it was a very generous helping.

I had read the online menu and knew what I wanted for dessert, the New Orleans Bread Pudding with rum raisin ice cream and fosters sauce. Okay, I will give you a hint ............ this put me on :cloud9:
The bread pudding was crisp on the outside and soft and gooey inside. It was warm and melted the ice-cream all over it. I do not even want to remember the fosters sauce as I am craving it right now! Again, it was a huge helping and we were so happy that we had changed our reservation!

Just another reason to plan another trip, Nicki!

This was our second time at Boatwrights and we loved it both times. Definitely one of the VERY best meals we had that trip! (apart from the signatures) :thumbsup2

Well thanks a lot! Now you just made me add another ADR to our already belly expanding list!! I hope you&Tom are proud of yourselves! ;)

Oh, your review makes me so happy that I have an ADR there for December. We went last September, and liked it...but so many people have not cared for it. I am glad you had a nice meal. I don't know which looks or sounds better. Yours or Tom's meal!!!

I have alot to think about :wizard::wizard: and i have to make it to DL california when cars land opens before making it overseas this i promised everyone :sad2:

Now I Really need to have second where we eat next trip I really need to start learning there are more places to eat with good food in disney and the real funny part is we are always eating at POFQ but never went to Boatright's or riverside the food looks simply to die for .

Skip is a HUGE pecan pie lover. (I don't like it). We may have to give this place a try in the future. It's nver been on my radar before.

Wow! That meal at Boatwright's looks amazing!

You are making our ADR decisions for next year very tough Karin!:lmao:

Your meal looks great! I have been looking into my next trip and debating where to stay. After reading about your meal I am tempted to make it POR! :rotfl:

Your dessert just had me drooling!
