I was reading something about $5 surcharges for any entrees over $27...how does that work on the DDP? Is that factored in? Are the surcharges basically saying that you need to add $5 to the quoted price on the menu for any entree over $27? :rotfl: HELP I'm lost!!!!

I believe that requirement only applies to 2 restaurants in Down Town Disney. I am not sure which 2, (I think Wolf Gang Puck and the Rainforest Cafe) but it is clearly delineated on the official Dining Plan Brochure on the official Disney Web Site.
Other restaurants do not charge a surcharge for regular menu items. There are some restaurants with an "Add-On" available at an extra charge. An example of an "Add-On" would be a lobster tail added to a filet for example. The filet would be the menu plan item, and the lobster tail the "Add-On". This policy applies to everyone, whether you are on the Dining Plan or you are paying OOP.

The surcharge is for items at Wolgang Puck and Planet Hollywood. Rainforest Cafe does not participate in the DDP (at least it didn't in December). There are only a few items that are abouve the $27.00 and you pay the surcharge if you chose those items. As far as add ons, at least at these two venues--they will cost you extra as they are not part of the entree, appetizer or dessert that are included.
