Suprising kids with Disney vacation....

I know this questions has been asked a million times, but I'm asking it again -

I need a fun and creative way to suprise my 3 & 4 year old girls on Christmas morning that we are going Disney just a few days later. We are not getting them much of anything for Christmas because we will get them whatever they want in Disney (don't worry, we don't have to carry it all back on the plane!!) so I really want this to be a good suprise.



Any suggestions??


PS - Remember, they are only 3 & 4 so they can't read yet!

I'll be surprising mine this Christmas too. They're 5 and 2 (and will be almost 6 and almost 3 by then). I'm getting a big box (the biggest I can find) and wrapping it with Disney wrapping paper. I'm filling it with Disney balloons so when they open it the balloons will come out. I'm thinking of attaching a picture of the castle (my kids know it means WDW from our last trip) or perhaps some fake tickets to WDW (those creative DISigners have some cute ones over on that board) or something else creative letting them know about the trip. I may also put some things they can use on the trip in the box- t shirts, sunglasses, etc.

You could also put a large Mickey/Minnie plush in it for them. Last year Walmart had huge 2'+ plushes for $10 on Black Friday! They were under my tree from Santa last year.

How about getting them each a Disney Gift Card. You don't have to have a lot of money on it. They would probably not know exactly what it is and then you could tell them that they can only use it at the Disney Store or at Disney World. Then they might figure out that they are going to WDW.

See if you could find some coloring/activity/sticker books with their fav characters on it. This could go in a surprise box to unwrap and they can do it on the plane going over. Maybe if you could a tee shirt w the fav character or a beach towel or anything. Something that wouldn't be a typical Christmas gift, but they could use for travel time or while there. Even a couple of books with Disney characters-----give them some sunglasses too. My kids love having theirs when we go---even if it's chilly, it's still sunny!!!!

Make a surprise sweatshirt for them that says, Surprise you are going to Disney World. I know you said they can't read, but that is ok, because while one of you are reading what it says, the other can be taking the pictures!! I did this in Feb. for my little great niece that I am taking in August and she was spell bound

I would have to say that last Dec was one of the best Christmas' for my family. kids-11,9,8,3. We also didn't have only a couple gifts for them. Coloring books, car games, dvd, things that could be used on the trip. The last gift was a VERY large box, with a lot of other empty boxes. The very last box had the disney tickets in it. I think our whole town could here the kids screaming. My 11 y.o. son was crying. It was the best!

Have you seen information about the Disney's Enchanted call. We did this on the way to the airport when my son was 3....he nearly freaked out that Mickey called to wish him well on his big trip & he knew where we were going. They have a lot of characters & different scenarios!!! I know lots of people who have used the call and everyone really likes it. (FYI--an adult has to answer the phone since I think you have to push 1 or something like that, then turn on the speaker & watch their amazement) My son kept asking Mickey how he got his phone number the whole trip

We too are suprising our girls who will be 6 and 2 at Christmas!! We leave on the 30th. I like the balloons in a box.

We are wrapping the box and inside will be a long scroll rolled inside. The start of it will have a ribbon attached to the outside so my oldest DD can pull it and read something like "You two princesses have been so good this year, we want to take you to meet some real princesses... we are GOING TO DISNEY!" Their other gifts are carry-ons, new sun glasses, bathing suit, adn some tshirts we will be making with the help of the DiSigners on here! I have a bunch of other goodies tucked away for them.
To make the most of the few days before we go we are making a paper chain to count down the days, polishing pennies for our pressed pennies, watching the travel video. We have a couple of days and nights to adjust to the time change before we go(and when we return). I am so excited! Some days it's hard keeping the suprise!!

I really love this idea - I had thought about it before, but totally forgot about it - thanks for the reminder!!!

When DNiece and DNephew were younger, we suprised them with a trip. What I had done ahead was order the Mickey ears with their names stiched on. We then blindfolded both, sat them down, and started with clues. We played some Disney music in the back and they ear had a turn to guess. The also gave them a chance to "feel" each others hat. Once they guessed right, we had the Disney travel DVD that Disney will mail out playing and let them watch that. I also had a DIsney for Kids book - which has pictures of all the differenet attractions, etc. Between the DVD and then the book for the airplane ride, they were so exicited when we got there and talking about all the different things we would do.
