My 2 daughters (19 and 13) will be staying at the CBR from June 8th - June 15th.

I called today for ADR and secured the following:

Sunday - Rainforest
Whispering Canyon

Tuesday - Prime Time
Brown Derby Fantasmic Dinner Package

Wednesday - Wanted Boma.... didn't get it... will keep trying

Friday - San Angel

Saturday - Ohana's Breakfast
Sci Fi

Sunday - Trying to get a nice breakfast ressie

Didn't get Donald's bfast or Chef Mickeys.

I had no idea that you had to secure reservations so far in advance. I feel lucky that I got the ones I did.

Keeping fingers crossed that I will still get Boma....

Debbie

Uh oh, I'd better get cracking! We will be in the world the 12th to the 19th and some of the places you mentioned are on our list - like Boma's and Donald's. :scared1:

I made my ADRs 180 days out based on the posts I saw on this board. Glad I did, because I STILL had trouble getting one of my choices on the day I wanted it.

That's very late in the Disney reality.:) People make reservations 180 days out.

Allison is right; Disney starts taking reservations at 180 days out ~ that's 6 months ~ for most restaurants.

Don't be surprised if you can't get Boma. It's popular.

I am in the process of planning my family's first trip. I read how popular Boma was and thought that would be a nice place to eat on my birthday/anniversary. I called at 151 days out just for that one restaurant since I knew for sure what day I wanted. I figured that I could plan the rest later. I was told that I had the option of 4:55 or 8:40. HOLY GUACOMOLE!:scared1: I realized that I had better get crackin' on the rest of the trip. I am very glad I did, although the family thought I was crazy. :upsidedow

I just made my ADR's for OCTOBER....I couldn't get LeCellier dinner that I wanted on my arrival day.

And the ONLY fantasmic available for the whole 9 days I will be there is hollywood n vine.
Sheesh.:sad2:

I just recently found this board so I had NOOOO idea how early you had to book dinner reservations.

If you can't get an ADR, what are the chances of walking up and getting in?

Thanks!
Debbie

Slim to none. Especially some restaurants like Le Cellier.

I called at about 174 days out, and Boma was already down to just a few ressie times..like maybe 5. I did, however, manage to get a Boma bfast much later...maybe closer to 120 days out? And there were still a few decent times for it.

I think I lucke dout..I got ressies for everyplace i wanted, even CRT, at no earlier than 174 days out. And even switched them up a few times! Of coruse, CRT lunch only had a 2:45 left, so I just BARELY got that one!!! Still, other than that or Boma, it was fairly simple, and I even had reserved ohanas at one point(cancleled it in favor of Biergarten because I didnt want to leave the park yet again, plus dh really likes german food, so its more up his alley) and Cali Grill at like 140-50 days out!

But I cant imagine calling 4 weeks out!

Unlikely to get a walk up at le cellier or CRT (although actually Ive been offered them there.. but never at Le Cellier or Ohanas)...
BUT you can often get reservations same day or a day before.

We often do that.

We made our reservations 5 months in advance and still had to go almost 3 hours later than our desired dinner time, and we had to change the day. Others were not a prob but we maybe missed our desired time by an hour or so. The more poopular resturants fill up quick.

I will never make this mistake again :thumbsup2

I am upgrading to an AP when I check in and will make all future ADRs well in advance.

Same here! I was able to flip flop days and it worked out fine!

Good luck tennisgirlsc!!

Thanks for the tip! I've been trying to get Le Cellier for our arrival day 5/17 with no luck. I'll try calling the day before and also that morning before we head to the airport. Really hoping to get in.. even if we have to eat dinner at9 pm

I would make a backup ADR for the meals you haven't been able to book, then cancel if you do get in. Keep calling often. People cancel all the way up to the day of. If you're unable to get the places you want before leaving home, take the WDW dining # with you & call from there. Alternatively, have the concierge at your hotel or guest services at the parks check for you. If it doesn't work out, at least you have your backup ADR.

When trying to make an ADR for a fully booked restaurant, keep calling from home a few times a week. If you still haven't gotten in, call from WDW. Walking up would be my very last option. In fact, I wouldn't waste my time taking the chance. People have been turned away as a walk-in, then stepped away from the podium & called the dining line & got an immediate ADR. I know it seems odd, but it appears they're attempting to discourage walk-ins. Good luck in your ADR quest. pixiedust:

PS, :welcome: to the DIS!

Coral Reef is another hot restaurant it seems. I booked at 160 days and couldn't get the exact time frame I wanted. I never thought that I'd have problems even at 160 days, but wow!

It really depends on the restaurant you want. I was able to get the 8:05 at Crystal Palace, which I think is a fairly popular time because we got to go into MK before it opened, about 4 months out. Be flexible, and you should be able to get some nice places. Good luck!!

I hope you can get what you need! ADR's can be hard to get at the more "popular" places. I always make all of my ADR's as soon as it hits the 180day mark. But, I always end up making changes to some of them.
