A Grosse Pointe Farms woman is accused of pulling a political dirty trick. Instead of giving away treats to every child who knocks on her door, parents say she's only giving them to kids who agree with her choice for president. FOX 2's Andrea Isom talked with the woman accused of denying children candy.

Love the part about "denying".

Were they entitled to the candy?

So, she's a mean old *****. I doubt she'll get any trick or treaters next year.

I have this uncanny ability to be able to put myself in other people's shoes. Many Obama supporters seem to be able to do that. Isn't it great?

So I put myself in a typical 4 y/o's shoes:

This lady who's voting for someone my mommy and daddy aren't voting for made me feel bad. I was having fun and getting candy with all my friends and she came to the door and told me I didn't deserve candy because of who my mommy and daddy are voting for. She scared me. My mommy was upset, too. She's a mean lady!

But the man next door who's voting for someone my mommy and daddy are voting for made me feel better. He told me to nevermind that mean old lady. He gave me and my friends candy and smiled at us. He said Happy Halloween and seemed very happy. He made my mommy feel better, too. He's a nice man!

Given that I have a 4yo, she would just think the woman was a mean old woman (given we were Obama supporters ) She would have no idea what the flyer was as she can read very little and my hubby and I have left the kids out of our political discussions. I would hope most 4yos would think the same, they don't need to be involved in all the arguing - let 'em be kids..

My 4yo, being a DIS kid is of course in the gifted category. He doesn't know there's an election next week. He doesn't know who is running. He doesn't know what a Democrat or a Republican is. I could teach him to parrot things, but I'd rather he make up his mind on things on his own and establish his own belief system. If we went to a house that didn't give him candy because of who I was voting for, as I posted earlier I'd think idiot, and he'd think ok, next house.

He had a hard enough time with his two lines yesterday. Trick or treat, and thank you.
