Hi,

I am traveling in 10 days and we are taking a limo service from MCO to Saratoga springs. The service comes with a free grocery store shop and my sister asked if they sell liquor in the grocery store too. She wants to get a bottle of wine.

So I called the service, happy limo, and asked if we could arrange a stop that has a Publix with a liquor store attached... he said, just tell the driver, it should be no big deal.

So, being the fanatic I am, goggle mapped the route, and checked for Publix along the route and called to see if they had liquor stores... neither did, however, both had a liquor store in the shopping center.... so, question 1 is... am I just missing a Publix/Liquor store combo? If so, where is it so I can the request with my driver? and 2, if not, do you think a second stop, in the same shopping center, is out of the question?

Thanks all!

I'm not sure about the answer to the part of the question about making two stops with the limo service; however you can definitely find wine in any of the grocery stores, including Publix. What you won't find is hard liquor, ie vodka, rum, tequila. Beer, wine and other lower-proof drinks will be plentiful at Publix. Hope that helps!

Wine and mixers are readily availble in Florida at every grocery store I have ever been in. Liquor is where you usually have to find an ABC store or equivalent.
It's really strange for me as in Tennessee, groceries are available in a grocery store. Liquor and wine is available only in a liquor store. If beer is sold, has to be in a separate part of the store with an OUTSIDE entrance, they can't be connected inside!:headache: And heaven forbid you need a mixer or corkscrew, then you have to go back to the grocery store.:sad2:

Well, here in NY you can get wine in grocery stores too, but it isn't good wine, it is usually some sort of "wine product" that has the same (or similar) alcohol content as beer... I am sure she wants a good or decent wine ... is that what we will find at a grocery store in FL, or will we find what we have here, "wine product"?

At this point I am thinking I will ask them, and if there isn't a good wine/alcohol selection in FL grocery stores I will ask for the second stop... I will throw them a couple of bucks if thats what it takes, because I want everyone to be happy on this trip!

Thanks for the replies....

Publix stores do carry wine (not sure if they carry all types of "liquor" but they definitely carry wine). We have done the towncar/grocery store stop at Publix several times and have found they have a nice selection of wine.

Don't forget a corkscrew! We forgot one last trip and it was a real pain.

Yes wine and beer in the store and spirits sometimes through another entrance, like at the Walmart I have been to.

You must be from a place like PA where wine and spirits are sold at State Run "State Stores" and beer by the case is only sold at beer distributors or by the six pack in bars .

Though this is changing a little bit. We have Giant Eagle supermarkets with State Stores attached with inside doors and one that somehow sells beer by the 6 pack in their "cafe".

There is a liquor store not far from SSR. Take Hotel Plaza Blvd. east- which happens to the road that DTD faces. Cross over 535 and you will be the is Crossings shopping center. There are also a number of places to eat in that center.

We stop at a grocery store on Orange Blossom Parkway which is Hwy 441/17/92 just north of Hwy 417 which is the south way out of the airport. I think it is a Publix but I'm not sure of the name and right next door is a liquor store which carries a wide variety of everything. It is not connected to the grocery store but it is right there so it would be just one stop for you.

The Publix on S. International Drive has a liquor store attached, But the Publix itself does have a very extensive wine collection of it's own.
It's a very short drive from SSR.

Have your driver use Route 417 from the airport, take exit 3 I believe it would say Osceola Pkwy. Turn right off exit and then left a next light ( S. International Drive), Publix will be approx 1/2 mile on the left just after over pass.
