Hi , we are staying at the Hilton Bonnet Creek that is near Disney . I am wanting to stock up on wine for in the room at night (just to help me sleep coz I know I won't be tired LOL) Also wanting to stock up on breakfast bars and in room snacks as some mornings we will snack in the car to get to the parks for rope drop . So need help with good supermarkets close by so I can plan . Thank you

There is a Walmart fairly close by, on Vineland Road. It's about a 10 minute drive away.

There are few Publix stores in easy reach which we prefer. Here's a list of the local ones: Publix Stores

My personal favourite is the Celebration store as its full of locals rather than tourists however you may want the Vineland Ave store as it is closer :thumbsup2

We went to the Publix on Vineland Ave - paid $13.99 for a 4 litre bottle of Merlot - that tasted quite good - I actually went through 12 litres during the holiday!! (although in fairness DH did have some too) We also bought cereal ($4), milk ($2) and a pack of 50 plastic/poly bowls ($1.50) so we could have breakfast in our room before we went out.

We also picked up a few Disney souvenirs here as they were half the price of the parks without the hideous tacky feeling those gift shops on the main roads have.

4 litre bottle !! Now that's my kind of size bottle and like Merlot . Me and DH will be enjoying a few of them as we are on holiday but don't need an excuse . Good idea about the bowl too as I'm sure my DS will want to try some new cereal while we are there . Thank you for all your help

I suggest you go to the Walmart noted above. It is ENORMOUS! We nipped in there for a styrofoam cooler and came out two hours later!!!

Think my DH is going to need to get an evening job at this rate !!! I am a nightmare just going round our local supermarkets . Already cut his and DS packing down so I can fill a full case up . Will be bringing peanut butter M&M's back as I love them . Can you recommend any other sweets as my DS and friends are mad on the shops selling American sweets but are expensive , so thought we could bring some back for Xmas gifts : ) getting excited only 6 weeks to go !!!!!!

ONLY TWO HOURS:rotfl: We can easily spend double that time when we pop in:rotfl:

This year we actually do have it planned as part of our itinerary. I have a huge long list of 'to buy at Walmart'. When our friends come to the UK from Florida they have the same 'to buy' list but for Tesco!! My list gets longer each year.;)

I don't understand the fascination with shopping in Walmart whilst in Florida.

Is there an American tourist site similar to this and they are all discussing visiting Tesco whilst in the UK?

more then likely:rotfl: Our Florida friends spend age in Tesco looking at things like Cadbury's chocolate, Chutneys and off course Tea!

I love spending time in there because of the different choices on products, many of which you can't get in this country. (well at a price you can). But I am into baking and you can pick up some fantastic stuff ie cake decorating items, at a fraction of the cost here.

I wouldn't even compare tescos to Walmart as you can buy lots of things in Walmart that you wouldn't see in tescos plus it much bigger and a lot cheaper for most things :).

Think I'm going to need my wine , cereal and snacks while i am out there , so will have to have a good look around . Been on the website pricing up peanut butter M&M'S already to bring home. DS want to bring sweets home for his friends as they are so expensive here and seem to be very on trend at the minute . Want to bring christmas stuff back if I can too !! Ha ha DH is shaking his head saying how you going to get it all home ? Told him he is only allowed one pair of shorts for the entire trip : ))

I do know that when our friends from Atlanta visited in May, they were as fascinated with discovering new products and groceries to take back home from Tesco and Sainsburys as we are with bringing things home from Walmart that we can't get here.

Yes, lol! Well maybe not that specific, but as an American who was in London this summer, I enjoyed our nightly stops in the Tesco express across from our hotel very much! It's fun to try new things you can't get at home. I make a point to check out supermarkets all over the works when I travel because it it interesting to see what is universal and what is unique.

IMO, your snacks are much better than ours!
