Supercallifragilistic-ADR'sApproachUs! May '09 PTR *Trip Report has Begun! Pg. 208*

I'm still freaking out. I don't know what my problem is. I am a jumble of nerves, my stomach is in knots and every time I really think about going to Disney I want to cry. I know this is insane, I feel insane! I think I am feeling overwhelmed.

So I am overwhelmed. With a capital O. Overwhelmed.

I realize this is just plain silly because in 9 short days I am going to Disney and I am very lucky indeed just stressed and overwhelmed.

:rotfl2:

I think your anxiety is extremely normal. I think the best thing to do is not try to make it go away. Don't question why its there or it will get worse. I am the queen of anxiety and I always get like this before a trip. Now I just remind myself that its my nerves "misfiring" and I tell myself, "Bring it on!". I know this sounds crazy, but it really works. Everytime you get that knot in your stomach say, "Bring It On". Once you tell your brain its OK to be anxious your nerves will quiet down. Seriously, I went through therapy to learn this technique (very expensive therapy, I might add :rotfl:), so I'm not pulling it out of the air.

I have also learned that when all else fails I take a half a Xanax. Works like a charm. Only need it for a few days before I go away.

LL! So you'll never believe that I MAY have called Disney MAY have secured an AP rate at Coronado and MAY be at the world May 22nd-25th for a short, sweet and absolutely crazy insane and nonsensical trip to the world! Its true! I'll be looking out for your LGMH! :thumbsup2:cool1::cool1:

I have been lurking and loving your pre-trip report. Getting some ideas for our next trip!
Love the shirts, especially the princesses making faces:rotfl:. Couldn't find that one on the thread you talked about, but found some great ones for the Halloween party (our 13 year olds don't want to wear costumes, so we are all going to wear matching T-shirts - they aren't too crazy about matching with the moms:rolleyes:!). But I love the princess one and I think my friends daughter would too. Is that in a different place? I would love to put together one for our trip.
Single digits! Take a deep breath and just imagine riding Soarin' :goodvibes(my fav). Soon you'll be in your happy place! Although I remember relaxing back in my seat once our plane was on its way! I know I'll love reading your trip report!
I can PM you the silly Princess faces if you want! :thumbsup2
Thanks for de-lurking and reading along!
I am feeling much better this morning. :goodvibes

Oh man, that stinks about the mushies! I hope the full can of soda made all the difference and your new bag works for you after all.
I have been know to stash a full water bottle in my purse then forget about it, complaining how heavy it is then, digging down and finding the water bottle lurking.........

Just think by the time you read this you will be at 8 days!
:yay::yay::yay:
The bag wasn't any better today.

:cool1::cool1::cool1:Single Digits!

:hug:for the stress you are feeling... I am sad you are sad/stressed, you are so close to a fantastic trip!

;)Since I doubt I can fit in your luggage... thanks for the offer. I think my dh would freak out if he had the kids for more than say two hours without me!

BTW... in Meijer (a grocery store chain) I was bag browsing for you...

Would a big Vera Bradley Backpack work?

BTW the Cargo Slings were $10 dollars the last day of the Vera Bradley outlet sale... what a deal. I have a friend who got a cute one!
Hehehe to your husband freaking out with the kids.
I have been leaning away from backpacks because I just wanted a bag that I could sling in front when I got on a ride instead of having to take a backpack off and on. Who knows. I am revisiting my current cargo sling....

I am sorry you are so stressed. Total bummer about the shoes. I hope the bag is ok minus the soda. I really hope you work things out in your mind so that you are excited instead of stressed. You are going to have a great time! Hang in there!
I am getting more excited. I think at this point I am just super ready for my vacation from work and just done.

Relist the items you want to take in your bag forus...maybe we can help you fix any issues you are having with your bag dilemma.

I didn't feel like I needed a LOT of time breaking in my Tevas---wear them around until you leave, and I think you will be fine by the time you get there.

Remember the great fun you are going to have with Jen, and know the priceless memories you will make with your Mom will be priceless!!!
That makes me feel a lot better about your Tevas! I know the trip will be awesome, it just needs to get here and then I will feel 100% better. :thumbsup2

Thanks for the tips, MEK! I am feeling better this morning. I just keep telling myself I rather be bagless and shoeless in Disney then anywhere else in the World. ;)

That is so awesome!! I will be on the lookout for you too!! :woohoo: :yay: :woohoo: Let me know if you will be in any of the same parks I will be. :thumbsup2

Good morning LL! You know I am here to listen always BUT I'm going to side with Marc here. Things will all work out. I vote with others about bringing a couple different bags and shoes. That way if you are unhappy in the morning, you can switch out during your afternoon break.

Do you have a trusty pair of tennis shoes? I know they aren't as fashionable but foot comfort during a long week of Disney is far more important!

I too would like to see your list of things you plan to take into the park. Maybe we can give you some suggestions to lighten the load.

Viking Ship, you are missed.

2869397332_c7c454b08c.jpg

Creepy Troll-ish figures that are all over Norway. I can't remember what they mean but they were interesting.

Things I am looking forward to in Norway.
*Dinner at Akershush
*School Bread
*Taking goofy viking pictures
*Maelstrom
*School Bread
*Light fixtures in Akershush, they are so pretty!

The bag is being returned. I can't justify spending $74 on a meh bag. I have printed out the return label. It's just not doing it for me. I am thinking about my Cargo Sling again or the Walmart Sling Backpack. To be honest, I don't care anymore about my park bag. :rolleyes1 I am so over finding one. Heck, maybe I'll bring my hipster and bring less into the parks!

No tennis shoes. The sneakers I have, which are Nikes I think gave me blisters in Disney in September. I am very hesitant to bring them. The thing is, my Crocs are still comfortable to me, they just don't help my heel pain. I have heel pain everyday so I am kinda use to it. So I will bring my Crocs and worst case just deal with the heel pain. If the Tevas are comfy and help the heel pain then that is a bonus. :thumbsup2

List of things for the park.....
*Sunglasses
*Point & Shoot Camera (I don't plan to bring this everyday but want the option since it's easier to pull out. It's small enough to fit into a pocket of a bag.)
*My Canon Camera
*Extra set of batteries (4)
*Tink Wallet
*Trading Pins, just a few, hopefully on the outside of the bag.
*Chapstick
*Bandaids
*Trip Journal & Pen
*Small thing of hand sanitizer
*Eye Glass Cleaner cloth for glasses and camera lense.

*Sometimes things will be Nobby and the mini tripod, I think though when I bring the tripod, Nobby won't come nor the point & shoot. Same when I bring Nobby, no tripod and no point & shoot. I won't bring Nobby all the time either. The tripod is only for evenings too.

Okay, LL - deep breathes! There's no stress allowed at Disney World. Nope! They don't call it the happiest place on earth for nothing. Just ignore all the crying kids. They haven't been told yet. ;)

Just pick out whatever works best for shoes and the bag. I truly believe that there is no perfect shoes or bag for Disney. Every trip is a bit different, and what works once might not work best the next time. For me my best shoes have always been my Keds. Nice light weight, comfy. Perfect. Until last year when I went and wore them for the Segway tour. Words can't express how much pain my feet were in after that. The no cushioning or arch support in Keds finally came back to bite me in the butt. I'd recomend rotating at least two pairs of shoes. I always keep a pair of cheap flip flops with me too just in case anything starts to rub a bit. A little bit of body glide works wonders too if there are any rubbing spots. Just coat those parts of your feet with them, and no blisters! It's fantastic stuff.

Schoolbread! :yay:Question from a schoolbread novice: What is the yellow stuff? Please, please tell me it's not butter. Is it custard? It's very yellow.:confused3

I am bring some flip flops, mary jane crocs and tevas. I am debating about sneakers.
I think you are right though, every trip is different in what is perfect!

No, it's not butter. It's yummy and creamy. I don't know if it's a custard exactly but again, it's delicious. :thumbsup2

Okay so much for the eerily calm feeling I have been experiencing lately...woman you are giving me anxiety and I live almost 1000 miles away LOL!!!

First of all the first couple of days we can divy up who is carrying what in there bags...oh and yeah I'm going to be the nerd in jeans and wearing a backpack...remember you promised not to laugh so I can carry some of the stuff so your load is lighter and we have the car so we put stuff in there and not worry about whatever you don't want and lock the doors.

If you work yourself up too much more you are going to have an attack and then the trip will not be as enjoyable for you!!! Things are going to work out...you are about to go on the best vacation ever and we will have a great time. So think on these happy thoughts instead...

We will sing the COP song outloud and not care who hears us...we will raise our hands and volunteer to stay at the Haunted mansion...we will attempt to find the entirely non-Disneyfied and completely gross Dentist noise and the chickens in Morrocco LOL....we will laugh like loons at the woman with gogo boots on Spaceship Earth...and we will inhale deeply and say AWWWWWW when we fly over the orange groves on Soarin...are you listening to me...do you have a smile on your face...the anxiety better have gone down LOL!!!!

Love you!!

LL, just a suggestion for you. I have heel pain and have been diagnosed with plantar facitis (sp). It is an inflammation of the tendon that joins your ankle bone to the bone in your heel. My ortho told me to wear closed back shoes because sandals give no support to the tendon and basically keep it in a state of hyper-extension. I totally empathise and know how unbelievably painful this state can be. My ortho also suggested this shoe as very supportive and available in my size - a 12. New Balance also carries wides.

http://www.joesnewbalanceoutlet.com...ll&selection=wshoes&sort=POP&shoeLast=&price=

I know they are pricey but the support and freedom from pain when I am walking alot is worth the trade-off. When my plantar facitis starts hurting I am in agony.

You are going to completely forget all of this anxiety next week...you know that right

Did you try a Bagallinni? Did it not work? Do want to borrow mine?? I carry all my park crap plus 3 extra lenses for my camera and it doesn't get too heavy.

Awww, that was said perfectly! Thank you so much!

I really can't wait to share Disney with you, it's going to be AWESOME!

Thanks for the suggestion! I am going to dig out my sneakers tonight and wear them around and see how my heel is. I am pretty sure I have the plantar facitis or however you spell it. Thanks again, it's nice to hear that you can find relief for it! :goodvibes

The bagallinni strap just wasn't long enough. I did try it again when I was bag browsing last week. Thanks for the offer though. I know I will forget everything when I get there....I just would like to forget it NOW. :rotfl:

You are welcome. It's an awesome camera. I really love it since I can use the auto setting or I can mess around with the manual settings. :thumbsup2

I was curious about your cameras ability for night time pictures. I know I've seen some of your night time pics, and they were great, but I was wondering if they are always that good. I've seen some comments/reviews on this particular camera not taking good night time pics. Do you find that to be true? I'm wondering if these were comments by professional photographers with a higher trained eye than the normal picture taking Joe. ;)
Also, do you carry your camera in your still yet illusive bag? Do you find it a bit heavy? I'm looking to get a camera that I can do better pics than my point and shoot Sony, I know this is a point and shoot also, but wanted to pass along the one I have to my daughter and wanted to upgrade for the next one Mama gets. :woohoo: I know, I know, I'm just wanting a good excuse for getting a new and better camera, but hey, what can I say?! A girl wants what she wants!

Oh, I can't wait to see your goofy Viking pictures!

I have never noticed the trolls before -- I need to keep an eye out for them.

I adore my camera! I think it takes good nighttime shots. I do recommend reading the manual and be prepared to mess with the settings if the first picture didn't come out. That's what I do. Sometimes it takes an extra 30 seconds or so but I don't mind doing that. You also have to be pretty steady and not move the camera with night time shots. It is a bit heavier than a point and shoot but I don't find it to be TOO heavy if that makes sense. I think my camera is easy to use for someone who doesn't want to change settings but with the ones that come with it or for someone who wants to manually set up the shots. :thumbsup2
I do carry my camera in my elusive bag.

Oooh, I sense some Connor and Chelsea troll photos coming up! ;)

I need to start being better at keeping up! I can't believe you're just 8 days away  Now you can start hearing my dad's "8...8 DAYS TILL FLORIDA!" tune in your head, and tomorrow you can start playing the "this time next week" game.

I saw the pictures of your brother's puppy, he is adorable! I love big breed dogs as puppies, they're just so cute when they're in that awkward puppy stage.

I'm sorry for all the stress and anxiety

I love your Norway pictures! I always keep an eye out for the weird little trolls. The bakery is soooo good too -- I don't care for coconut, so I didn't try the school bread, but my mom loved it.

 I guess there is a bit of difference between illusive and elusive, that's what I get for typing faster than thinking. LOL! Thank you for your input about the camera, I'm wondering if it's to much for me. I don't like to have to put to much thought into taking a picture when I need to take one quick. :O)
But! Then again, I've wanted to start taking photos with more thought, so this might be THE camera to start out with. hmmmm. :scratchin
