Supercallifragilistic-ADR'sApproachUs! May '09 PTR *Trip Report has Begun! Pg. 208*

I agree..I felt I was behind as it is with your PTR LL and now...we're talking about the 2011 Princess 1/2 Marathon?! Man..I really need to check your updates every hour now, even if it's not YOU updating :lmao:

For all your runners to be out there..... Here is some inspiration. I have been running for 20 + years. Yeah - I am pretty friggin old, but I can't tell you how old, because I am old enough to be LL's mom. Anyway - the trick I learned is DO NOT GIVE UP!!!!!! EVER! You will absolutely hate it for the first 4 - 6 months, but after that it becomes a part of you. Honestly. I have never run a full marathon, but I have done a couple half - marathons - really hilly ones. They are very hard. But my biggest joy is just a quick 2 or 3 mile run in the morning. It is very peaceful. I especially love running at WDW. I never complain about my room location, cause I like to run and explore whatever resort I am staying at. Seriously, running can be da bomb and its really fun at the world! All you need is a good pair of running shoes and a good jog bra. JUST DO IT!

I think 2011 is what we are shooting for. What have I gotten myself into? :rotfl2: I know absolutely nothing about the Princess Half-Marathon but I will research it this weekend inbetween packing boxes! :thumbsup2

Just wait till you see all the runners with princess inspired running costumes. Too funny. I can't imagine doing that, but I'd be willing to stick a tiara on my head.

Thanks so much for the advice. I need to pick up a good job bra before starting anything. The ones I have are not appropriate for running.

How do you find out more about this. I have never heard of it. That sounds like alot of fun.
Crissy sent me some links and I would be happy to share them with you if you'd like. :thumbsup2

Yes, 2011 Princess 1/2 Marathon. I am seriously considering it. I figure even if I don't make it, it's a great motivator to get me stick to getting in shape!

A tiara sounds good! :rotfl2:

princess:Make sure you practice your Miss America waves, ladies!:rotfl2:

You can use them when you cross the finish line in your tiaras.

I go on vacation for a week and you have almost 10 pages of updates! Oy! But I have enjoyed catching up! :goodvibes

LOVE, LOVE, LOVED your 60 things I love about Disney list. I could comment on all of them but for the sake of your other readers I'll just pick the few that really grabbed me.

In honor of my SUPER SWEET 60 DAYS UNTIL DISNEY DANCE, I have made a list of 60 things that I love about Disney.

DISCLAIMER : The 60 things listed are in no way the only things I love about Disney. That is a list that never ends...my friends.

SUPER SWEET 60 DAY DANCE LIST

6. The way seeing the Characters makes me feel like a little kid again, I even get a bit shy!

Isn't it awesome? I'm the same way!
9. Carousel of Progress. I have a special spot in my heart for the attractions that Walt worked on.

He looks just like Neil Patrick Harris/Doogie Howser! :rotfl: I never noticed that before!

12. People Watching. I love watching all of the little Princesses meeting their idols. I also get a kick out of picking out the families that did zero preparation for their trip and are taking it out on everyone else instead of themselves.
I do that too - looking at the families who didn't plan...

[
23. Haunted Mansion and how I look forward to the ghost joining me in my doom buggy every single time!
Me too! I am always excited to see who my hitchiking ghost will be!

39. Swiss Family Robinson Tree House. It brings back memories of watching the movie with my family.

One of my favorites too!

41. The fact that I discover and notice new things every trip I take.

Isn't that amazing!

45. Being called Princess by the CM’s. As far as I’m concerned I think
everyone should call you Princess/Prince wherever you go. It would make checking out at the grocery store far more enjoyable.

That WOULD make grocery shopping better!! ::yes::

So I loved all 60 items on your list and agree... the list will never be complete. There is so much to love!!

---------------------

Great AK update. That park is really growing on me!

Princess 1/2 Marathon in 2011? I'm in! Of course I may be wogging (walking/jogging).

I'm really thinking I am going to try to do it. I love the term wogging. :thumbsup2 I will most likely be wogging as well. According to this year's Princess 1/2 Marathon, you have to do a mile in less than 16 minutes, I think that is a very doable goal. :thumbsup2

Love the list! I'm working on a degree in #55. :)

There are so many awesome things about Disney World. Have fun with the rest of your planning as the big day continues to get closer and closer. Planning is a huge part of the fun and excitement. It's almost time to turn another page on the calendar!

Good luck to everyone thinking of doing the half marathon! I'd love to hobble my way through it someday, too.

I am joining in on your trip report! I love hearing about your ressies and food and park info! We were hoping to go back this year, but instead we are heading to the Tampa area....I will surely miss the mouse! :(

I have been having a blast with my planning. I feel like my last trip I was stressed out by the planning, I am more go with the flow planning this time around. Though my next update might contradict that, but on the inside I feel much more at peace. ;)

Thanks for joining in!! :goodvibes That is too bad about missing the mouse this year, but he's not going anywhere! :thumbsup2

I figured since it's a pretty good possibility that my Mom will be joining me on this trip, that I should introduce her properly.

Mom aka Angela, loves to read, be crafty, buy shoes and most importantly she is the best Mom ever. I might be a bit bias about that though. Her and my Dad will have been married for THIRTY YEARS this July. I'm super proud of this fact, especially since my Mom has told me how everyone scoffed at her when they got married because she was just 17.

Here are some older family photos. Trust me, we normally smile but for some reason my Dad puts the grumpy looking photos on his photobucket site. :rotfl:

My Mom has been to Disney twice, both times were our family trips. The first one was in April 1988. We drove down in an RV with my Grandparents and Uncle. This was the trip that I came down with the Chicken Pox. :sad2: The Chicken Pox story and the teacup story are the two most talked about things in our family from this trip. We went on the teacups. My parents went with my brother who turned 3 on the trip. I went with my Uncle. BIG mistake. My mom swears to this day that she saw my eyeballs roll back in my head and she kept screaming at my Uncle to stop spinning but he didn't. I hate teacups to this day.

Our second family trip was in November 1995. We went the week of Thanksgiving. We knew for over a year that we would be going to Disney. We went with my mom's best friend and her husband. My mom owned her own daycare while I was growing up and when she knew we were going to Disney, she took on a part-time job for over a year cashiering at a grocery store. This is why I want my Mom to join me on this trip. She woke up around 4:30AM everyday, packed our lunches, ironed my dad's shirts and got to the daycare to open it by 6AM. She would get out of work around 4:00PM, bring us home and then head out to her second job until 11PM and then she would start all over again. She did this over a year. She worked most nights and the occasional weekend but she tried not too, she made huge sacrifices so we could have enough money to go to Disney and she didn't have to do that.

My Mom has always put all of us first and made sacrifices. I recently looked in her closet and saw pairs and pairs of shoes. Every time I go visit her she is showing me her new pairs of shoes. I asked her why the sudden love of shoes. She told me that she has always loved shoes but could never afford to buy them if they weren't necessary. I am truly grateful for what my Mom has sacrificed and put on hold so that my brother and I could always have what we needed or thought we needed.

We've never done a Mother/Daughter trip or "big" activity. We've gone to the Spa together, we go shopping, but nothing like going away just the two of us. She told me tonight that she is putting in the request for the days off and if they get approved that she will be joining me! I am so excited that she will come with me and I can Disney pamper her. Do what she wants, when she wants and just let her run the show.

She is planning on joining me Wednesday - Saturday which means some changes for me. I want to have as much park time as possible which means I might try to push my Jiko dinner to one of my solo nights on Monday or Tuesday, or I might cancel it and save it for another trip. I haven't decided yet.

My Mom has told me that I can plan park days and I think I want to try to hit all four parks while she is there. The only thing I know for sure is that we will be doing the PM Extra Magic Hours on Friday night and that she would like to see Wishes.

I'm toying with trying to book the Hollywood Brown Derby Fantasmic Package but I have a feeling that they will probably be none available. I am still debating on the Crystal Palace ADR. I'm not sure. I feel like I have to totally revamp my itinerary to optimize time in all four parks.

I do have a few things that I don't want my Mom to miss out on.

*Soarin'
*Toy Story Mania
*Pirates of the Caribbean
*Haunted Mansion
*Finding Nemo: The Musical
*Kilimanjaro Safari
*Flower & Garden Festival
*It's Tough to be a Bug
*Wishes
*Test Track
*Illuminations

That's just a list off the top of my head. I think that I just need to stick to my plans and not totally re-do them. I know my Mom will be happy with whatever we do but I want to make sure she gets to see everything! I think we are going to keep to only 1 TS while she is there, she requested more Park time. I can live with that!

Any suggestions on things that I should make sure to show my Mom?

Awww I loved "meeting" your mom. She seems like such a lovely person... and you look so much like her! Wow! I am so glad your plans to have her join you are working out.:goodvibes You will have such a great time.

I know I've uh, mentioned this before but...

TEA AT THE GF!!!

My mom LOVES it. IMO it is totally worth giving up some park time for.:lovestruc

Nice introduction of your Mom!!! Great pics, too, LL! Thanks for sharing!:goodvibes I'm so excited to see that there is a good chance she'll be able to make it...keeping my fingers crossed that she will get her days off she requests, keep us posted!! I"m with you, it's so nice to think of the time you will get to spend with your Mom showing how much you love her and taking that time to spend with her....that's why I'm so looking forward to doing my trip in September with my own Mom!!!!:cloud9: Thanks for sharing!!

You're mom is truly a lovely, beautiful lady!!! I hope she gets the time off approved! :goodvibes

Okay, LL, I am cracking up over the second picture of you all on the edge of the lake -- what are you doing with that arm/hand??? For some reason I am suddenly singing a line from my favorite Madonna song, "Strike a pose, there's nothing to it." :rotfl::lmao::rotfl2:

Your mom is lovely! How wonderful that you were married in the same park as your parents. It is rare to find people our age who's parents are still married. My parents would have been married 40 years on April 26th. My mom turned 18 on April 1 & my dad turned 18 on April 24th and they were married 2 days later and graduated high school 2 months later!

I loved meeting your mom and the family photos are priceless. I think it is so sweet that you and your mom will be able to go to Disney together! What fun. I say while you are at Test Track, head over and try Mission Space (green), it's fun!

Oh LL! What a great intro to your mother- you are a super loving daughter!!!

Yes, I agree w/CP, the "Madonna" pose is very funny! Adorable though- def. something I've done a time or two.

I think one of my FAVORITE attractions in MK is Mickey's Philharmagic. It's so amazing how its a stage and then your immersed in 180 degree 3-D images. Def. a change from the last time she was there!!

As far as ADRs- I just have my usual suggestion of the latest ADR you can get, so you don't sacrifice park time, you can take your time eating leisurely, and stroll through a beautiful nearly empty park while reflecting on a perfect day together!

I really hope she gets to go cuz I wanna hear ALL about it! ::yes::
