You know me, I have to weigh in on this one. The hipster (neither the new or old designs) are too big or feel like a diaper bag. My goal is to do a Vera versus Vera update this weekend where I compare the two. Yes, I am that much of a geek.
Awww, thanks Paula. Hopefully I can stick to them! This was a terrific post LL!!! one of your best....really! Actually that said, and it being new years and all... those are all pretty good resolutions for me for 'real life' too![]()
happy new year!!
Paula
Oh that is just the normal upcoming trip panic you are in, trust me, talk to me in March and I will be going crazy! What great balance you have for the trip - it's bound to be great with that perspective!(Also a great reminder as I start to panic about my upcoming trip!)
It is a VERY fine line and one I am afraid that I will be on the losing end of. I get all panicky. It helps that I know we can do laundry at WDW in case of a dire emergency.I like your trip resolutions! That's a really good idea.
I hear you on the overpacking...I'm looking at my packing lists and thinking that I might have a little too much, but at the same time, I want to be covered if something gets dirty. In my experience, there's a fine line between "overpacking" and "being prepared," and I've always had a hard time staying on that line.![]()
Happy New Year to you and Marc!
I am so like that. I want to just slow the pace a bit. I am sure Marc will love it too, he's much more relaxed than I am.Great trip resolutions! I am a hurry upping kind of person, too, so I may be stealing that one!![]()
I hope so! I'm hope it's just as good as our last trip or even better!Sounds like you've got a great attitude about this trip, and it should be really enjoyable for both you and Marc.
I meant to put the nightswimming tradition on there! I think the tripod is 2lbs or less with the carrying case so not too huge.Fantastic resolutions, LL! I love all of them.
I didn't remember that photo was the one that started it all (the light fixture obsession). I can see why... gorgeous photo.
I am right there with you on the overpacking. In fact it is CRIMINAL how much I lug there and don't even wear. In fact on my flight home in Dec I was so disgusted with myself that I started to make a core packing list. That will hopefully also help me avoid the last minute panicked packing that I seem to do.
How big/heavy is your tripod? I agree, I see lots of people with these. I don't think you'll have any worries. And remember everyone is so busy doing their thing they aren't even going to notice what you're doing.
Mid-day breaks are very important.
As are romantical moments. Not too much detail, please, but are you going to try to plan romantical moments or let them happen?
LOVE your nightswimming tradition. I think that's soo cute (and romantical).
I really am looking forward to writing my next TR. Is it sad when you want to go on vacation so you can write a TR?OH what great trip resolutions...I hope you and Marc are able to keep every single one of them!!! ONLY 143 days..it will fly by like nothing...I'm going to countdown with you cuz that means I'm getting really close to the end of school...LOL![]()
If this semester was anything like last..you'll be in Disney before you know it and I'll have another great LL Trip report to read!!
Happy New Year my most wonderful friend...enjoy the next few days!! (Live them up LOL)
Trip resolutions??? I can't keep regular resolutions....trip resolutions would be way to much pressure.![]()
We totally did wear the more comfy stuff. I think just having a basic idea of what you want to do is awesome for your first trip. That way you don't have a lot of pressure if you do something other than what was planned.Yes, these past few months have absolutely flown by...I can't believe we're under three weeks now! I kind of wish we'd be back at three months out. I want to look forward to it longer (weird, I know) and I feel totally unprepared. Clothing is the problem. At this point, I'll be the one wearing only 2 different pairs of pants the whole trip! I ordered all those clothes from Old Navy so long ago (like 8 shirts and 12 pairs of pants) and sent everything back except one shirt. So it was really nice to hear you say that you wore the comfy stuff more than once. I have no problem doing laundry while we're there. Good thing!

Sorry about the whining. I'll just be doing lots of shopping after the girls are back in school. It'll all get done, it always does!
The rest of it is pretty much set. Our agenda is good, I'm trying to just have a basic plan, like which order to do things, because I just don't know what to expect, you know? We're gonna go with the flow a bit!![]()
Thanks for asking!![]()
Thank you!Nice post!
Thanks Becky. I love my hipster but I am eagerly awaiting CP's post too!HAPPY NEW YEAR LL!! I love your Trip Resolutions!!!
Ooh I can't wait! I really like the shape of the cargo sling but have finally outgrown the diaper bags and would like to keep it that way! I like the look of the hipster but am afraid it's not big enough for all of my stuff - I am like the bag lady with all my stuff
I can just imagine how you can overpack! I have to have Marc help me go through my suitcase the night before the trip so I can eliminate things. I am not strong enough to do it on my own!I love your Disney resolutions, LL! I will have to work on that overpacking thing, myownself. Do you have any idea how much I can overpack for six people?! I'm a pro at that! Packing lightly is another thing altogether... But I'm gonna try!
There's so much to think about....*Catch a daytime parade.
I've never seen a daytime parade at Disney. I want to see ONE of them!
Do you know when the new "Celebrate" parade starts at Magic Kingdom? I think it is a daytime parade, but I haven't seen it on the January calendar yet. I am hoping it will be going on while we are there.
No matter how many lists....
...and must do's we have on our itinerary, EVERYTHING is subject to change and that is A-Okay. There's always next trip.
That is a great attitude, and exactly how my husband and I go about things. No reason to stress out about what is not getting done! When you are open to the possibilities you can have some of your greatest (and most "romantical" )moments!

Thank you so much. I hope you have a great New Year too. I'm hankering for some cute Megs pictures! When are you going to book your next trip?I love the Trip Resolutions, and I know you will be able to keep them!!! I just want to wish you a very Happy New Year Sweet Lady!!! I hope this year is a great one for you!
Happy New Year! I think we are all prone to go souvenir crazy at some point!First of all, Happy New Year! Second of all, I really like your trip resolutions. Particularly the souvenir one (I know I've gone a little souvenir-crazy before...) and this one. I had a bunch of must-do lists for our trip and did we get around to them all? Nope. Like you said, there's always next trip (and maybe that gives you more reason to plan another one!)!
Love your list of trip resolutions!
Hope your having a happy New Year so far!
Oh that is just the normal upcoming trip panic you are in, trust me, talk to me in March and I will be going crazy!![]()
You are so right! I'm in that moment where you start to review the plans and second guess everything. Even though on this trip our plans aren't really plans at all - I still make them in my head! I just want everything to be awesome for my family...
In the midst of all that, I start realizing how much has be done before we leave. All the bills have to be paid, money transferred into appropriate accounts, house cleaned, laundry, packing, filling out of PassPorter - all that! I LOVE it, but I'm at the "everything is overwhelming me!" moment.![]()
But, I'll make it though, and at the end will be an incredible Disney vacation!![]()
*Don't overpack.
I packed waaaaaaaay too much last trip. I want to cut down on our luggage. I had outfits that I didn't even touch last trip, in fact we washed the clothes we were most comfortable in to wear again. So, I will bring less clothes and do laundry if needed.
Thanks for posting the link!Ok LL here it is, http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2045752.
By the way, my VB bag should be here next week. I'm so excited!
That's what I love about the DIS, you can always pick up new ideas from others.I'm going to have do a post just on my trip promises soon...once again I loved your trip resolutions. Between you and Christine's trip tips I have come away with a lot of new ideas!!!!
I can't wait to see the pictures. Poor Megs is missing her Disney World. She's a little DISer in training.First of all---you should be getting some great new pics of Miss Megs soon---I really MUST upload all my pics and videos of the holiday season--and when that is done, I will of course post some for you to enjoy!!! Everytime I go to upload them, something comes up, and I need the memory card for more pictures---thank goodness the season is winding down!!!
Secondly, I hope to get something concretely going on our next trip---Megan has been overdosing on all the WDW commercials, specials, etc., etc. that has been on the TV lately, and I know if we don't get something going here soon, she is just not going to be able to take it much more!!!! She has said every single day..."When ARE we going to go back to Mickey's House?!?!?!" I am thinking September---I have been trying to figure out which will be the better way to go, either renting points again or hoping for Free Dining. I really want to stay at WL, so let's hope we figure it out soon! You know you will be one of the first to know!!!
Exactly. It's hard to figure out what you are really going to need and even though you can tell yourself there is no way that you will wear 7 dresses, you feel like you need them.Happy New Year LL!
And this is definitely going to be my resolution next time we are able to go to WDW:
Trying to pack everything to get back home was a nightmare! I brought so many ridiculous things. For an 8 day trip, did I really need 7 dresses? No.
Ok LL I am all caught up. I started it when you did and I thought I had subscribed but alas I did not. I have read it all and am here for the rest of it.
