Anyone else staying up tonight? Or taping it maybe?? Where does your allegiance lie for the big game???

GO STEELERS!!!!

the game's in my home town but that's the only connection i might possibly have to it...
but considering the Lions haven't been a championship team for about a century, i'm not exactly an NFL football fan....

get back to me when the Pistons are in the finals (as they certainly will be)...

Yeah we're staying up. Having just got back from the US and watched most of the championship games, sort of feel duty bound to. Having some friends over, plenty of cold beer, chilli and chicken wings - should be a good night.

As far as allegiance is concerned, I think the consensus is we're supporting the Steelers, but I'm not too bothered. Wouldn't mind seeing the Seahwaks get it at the first attempt.

Do you reckon, not looking to good this year from what I've seen. Anyway doesn't really matter, as I think the Heat are going to do it this year, go SHAQ!!

Matt

Never watched it, but good luck to whichever team you support :thumbsup2

I have to go for the Steelers. My brother named his first son Steeler Spencer White. So you can see we might be a little swayed in this game. My nephew is thrilled.

Tim,

Its the Stones on at Half Time I think. Lets hope they keep everything where it should be.

As for the result, would really like to see the Seahawks winning tonight but on the streak the Steelers are on I wouldnt bet against them. They were 6-5 i think at one point and won every game since, all the post season games have been won on the road so they are going to be tough.

Off to get my beer n snacks now, i am not allowed to touch them till ko time though. :thumbsup2

DH to be is staying up, before he gets up for work at 7am (must be mad). He informs me the Steelers will attract his support!

Matt

you apparently haven't seen much....

the pistons are the top team in both conferences....they have the best win/loss record thus far this season in the NBA.....

I'm about to throw in the towel - busy day tomorrow. Currently 3-0 to Seattle.

Some quite close calls by the refs in the first half. All went against the steelers.

This game is going to be remembered for 3 or 4 plays alone.

1, The pass interference to stop the Seahawks TD in the 1st half. There was a slight push on the Hawks WR prior to this infringement. Harsh decision

2, The Reverse pass by and throw by Antwaan Randle El for a Steelers TD, WOW what a play and what guts to play this in the Superbowl.

3, The Holding call against the Seahawks in the 3 Qtr i think. John Madden said this wasnt holding and i agree, this could have been the 2nd challenge that each team are entitled to ( I Think!) This would have put the Seahawks on the 2 yd line with 1st and Goal. Instead it was 3rd and 25 and they were intercepted the next play.

I originally neglected to include the fourth which was the longest TD run in Superbowl history by Willie Parker, but bad defensive set up allowed that.

Great finals should never remembered by Refs decisions. But the Steelers were strong when it mattered, well done.

but what about what really matters?...how were the commercials?....or don't you get to see them when you watch from the UK?

Ive recorded the game, and did plan to avoid the result, and managed about 15 mins when I heard it on 5 live 6AM news. Tut.
I would have liked the Seahawks to have won it though, only because of Mike Holmgern.
I lost interest this year after my beloved Packers had such a disaster :-(

After watching three excellent rugby matches over the weekend and then watching the first half of the superbowl. All I can only say is thank heavens we have rugby! :)
