So, I am not a big superbowl person and this year, the BF and I decided that since the game/teams didn't interest us, we would go to DL for the day since we heard it would be slow with everyone home watching the game.

WRONG!

It was actually one of the busiest days I've seen since I started going (granted I don't go in peak times, but it was 60-90 min wait for all E tickets all day). Anyone else go that day thinking it would be a nice slow day?

Also, it didn't help that it was a gorgeous, warm, sunny day and I saw tons of local teens there.

I think the days of the empty Disneyland Park on Superbowl games are long gone.

That used to be the case, but now Superbowl Sunday is one of the busiest days (in my opinion) at Disneyland.

I actually thought that the playing teams got to DL after? I'm from Denmark so Super Bowl is a thing that I actually know ZERO! about. But my grandma' told that she had seen a big super bowl party that was held in Disneyland? Maybe she has mixed DL and WDW up??

Usually the winners got to WDW or Disneyland.
But whenever the Lakers win a championship (basketball) they go to Disneyland and have a whole parade and everything.

If only L.A. could land a NFL team...

If the Superbowl winner is from the West or East it determines where their celebration will be. This year the winning New York Giants went to WDW because NY is in the East.

Since most teams are in the East the celebrations usually take place in WDW. Next year it will be in Disneyland, after the SF 49ers win the Superbowl. ;)

I was also there super bowl weekend, and I can agree that Sunday was WAY more crowded than Friday or Saturday. Before I went there was some discussion that people have an expectation of low crowds on super bowl Sunday, and are suprised when the park is at normal weekend levels.

Well, it was definently not a normal weekend level. It was more like a Holiday weekend level. I have been over many weekends, both holiday and not, and I can say it was more crowed that Veteran's day weekend.

But we just collected our FP's, and went on other rides that still always have low to reasonable lines, and had a great time. Mon, Tues and Weds were fantastic as far as crowds go. I love weekdays during off season!!

Oh, and by the way, I guess the Broncos are closer to the west coast, so that's where THEY will go next year ;o)
