Super Walmart (Ancaster)

Hi. Has anyone been their this week? DD17 has today off and I was thinking about going. Is all the store open, because we would pick up a few groceries too if priced right? I need some work out clothes etc too is they have a larger selection then other Walmarts. How does it compare to the Supers in the States?

Hi again. To anyone that reads this. We ended up going today and with my sister-inlaw and her three young daughters. They are not quite done yet, I found some great deals though. Sweat shirt on clearance for $3.00, I found My Little Pony runners for my neice for $3.00 too Now I want to go and take DH and get groceries and find more great bargains.

HI I was wondering if this in the Walmart just off the 403 or is it a new one? I am in Stoney creek and we have a new Walmart too. Sometimes I just like to go out to the Ancaster one. Thanks

Its off the 403. It is a remodeling of the old Walmart. You get off at the Wilson exit. It's grand opening with all the groceries will be Oct 18. RIght now its under major renovations but still open for business.

Is this like the Super Walmarts in the US that has a complete grocery store in it? I think a lot or all of them are open 24 hours too.

I don't know if they are going to be 24 hours, but yes, they will be similar to the US versions, but after being in the Ancaster store and some in US, the stores here in Canada appear to be smaller in size. There are 2 more Walmart superstores opening in October - London and Stouffville, and I think they are bigger than the Ancaster store. The stores will carry fresh produce, meats etc. The stores in Ancaster and London right now have their dry good grocery aisles set up, but won't open up the fresh grocery section until the Oct 18 openings.

Thanks Jo-Anne. We have a new Walmart located in an area just off the 401 where they are building big box type stores. I wonder if they will renovate/add on to it to create a Super Walmart. We could do with more grocery store options here, especially with cheaper prices!
