The following day, after late breakfast at Pepper Market - Mickey waffles for DD and scrambles for me, we made our way to the AK. This was more fun than I remember it being. I decided this trip not to rush to the parks first thing in the morning, but to do other activities at the resort first. I didn't even wear my watch! This was so liberating. I would recommend leaving the watch in the safe to anyone. For once I really felt as if I was on vacation, and not rushing to beat the crowds. Normally, after a WDW vacation, I felt that I needed a vacation to recover from my vacation. Not this time. We had no plan, no agenda. It was great.
So, on we went to AK. We walked to the Safari for a fast pass, then browsed in the shops until our ride time. The safari is always exciting when you see animals in what looks like their natural habitat. After the ride, we enjoyed the walking path to observe the animals. That was great. We took the train to conservation station for the petting area. DD loved to brush the animals. All I could think of was washing my hands. It was fun though. We walked by the tree of life. It is quite a site. Made our way to the dinosaur ride. Fast pass for that, and had a little ice cream snack. Dinosaur was amazing. DD loved this, but screamed a little at the end. Of course, we had to make our way to the dinosaur gift shop and buy one of everything. I had this stuff shipped to the house, as the giant carnataur would not fit in the luggage, nor did I want to be lugging that thing around. We spent the remainder of our time in the bone yard. That was fun for DD, but a little disconcerting for me, as I had a hard time keeping track of her in there. We went to the digging area, where we both took our shoes off. I would recommend this to all parents. Take your shoes off in there! It feels wonderful on the feet.
