Super Star Birthday

I know that I made up a huge gift basket just filled with disney stuff in it and I'm going to ask the front desk in our resort to deliver it to the room. (Also planning on tipping the person very well too).
Not to put a damper on your plans, but you might have a problem with this. Resorts don't typically deliver packages to your room unless they are from the Disney Florist. It's basically the same as in park purchases that you don't want to carry back to your resort. They'll deliver them, but only as far as the resort gift shop, where you have to pick them up. Be careful with tipping also. There are a number of jobs at Disney that are considered non-tipped positions. Some CM's can get in trouble for accepting cash tips. The way the policy has been described, that would most likely include front desk and lobby concierge staff members. I just didn't want you to be disappointed if they are unable to handle this special request for you.

It's not a big deal if they can't cause I will just put the basket out myself and do it. thanks for the heads up...but we will see in September what happens.

And then you can let me know how it turned out so I will know what I can and can't do in December. :earsboy:

No problem. I just wanted to point it out based on a few posts that I read recently. Some guests read about someone else's experience and expect the same thing to occur to them (room upgrade, view upgrade, etc). Based on expectations, I can see where it really bothers some folks when they don't get the same. I'm definitely not picking on a value resort, but they are value for a reason. Usually it's because you don't get all the extra bells and whistles and that could include not having extra staff available to run a special errand.

Disneynut, what works for one guest may not necessarily work for another, especially when it's a special request. WDW1st is going during a slower season, which might mean the CM's have more time on their hands. Or it could work the other way and because you'll be there in December, they might have extra staff on duty.

In either case, it never hurts to ask. I'm sure it would be a great surprise for the recipient of your gifts.

I think that I had posted or e-mailed you suggestions from the other board, or one of the other threads, but here is the e-mail address for the Disney Florist, www.disneyflorist.com and another DIS'er Feralpeg, http://www.peggyssweetsandmore.com/ . Her baskets are just too cute.
