Super Soap Weekend 2008?

Right and Frons has this blind faith in the fans that they are going to come to all these events and it will be as busy. He is sadly mistaken. For example, I go to SSW because of the environment and I enjoy seeing 3 main people. If it's broken into smaller events, trust and believe the same stars will not be there, and therefore, will not have the same impact. The environment will not be the same and if my top 3 actors are not in my area, then i will not go. Simply put. You have a better chance of me flying out to another state to see them.

ITA. That is why I go as well, for the environment and the 3-4 main stars I want to see. Who as you said will probably not be in the same place at the same time. And it's not worth the effort or money to go to mutiple events with 1-2 stars I may or may not want to see. SSW is a fantasic combination of stars, great for all ABC fans. And it's so disappointing Frons won't see that.

Unless Soap Nation comes to Florida with at least a minor fraction of what SSW gave, I probably wouldn't attend any events.

And most of those events usually just have a select 5-10 stars that are way over-pimped-out anyway. It sucks. Big time.

Wondering since last year we went and the park had just opened if you go at 3am or 4am do they give you a map while you are waiting? We are going for both days we want to see about 2 or 3 people from All My Children and about 8 people on One Life To Live's 3 or 4 people on General Hospital, last year we didn't get to see any of the shows, anyone with suggestions on how we should do this so we can see everything? I know we probably won't be able to see everyone we want hopefully we can.
Anyone have a map of Hollywood studios now? lol I am trying to plan this better then last year's.

The schedule should be out any time. I know I'm waiting for it. They usually post it on ABC Daytime, but I'm guessing it will be on Soapnet.com this year since all of the info that's out seems to be there. They also publish it in ABC Soaps in Depth magazine. It's not in the current issue, so maybe it will be in the next issue.

thank you, I still haven't gotten our tickets yet and I just found a website selling 2 tickets for $25 great price but umm I don't think its real lol and if it is I will regret it lol

Question about tickets I am planning on ordering them online from disney's site if we do the 3 day ticket with no expiration since we are just going for two days that third ticket could it be used at any park when we decide to use it again??? Also with buying the tickets online and getting them mailed to my house they are the actual tickets right?? Last year we did will call and got them the day we got to SSW. Just want to make sure we don't have to do that again because we want to get to the gets early.

I would never buy tickets online from anywhere except the official Disney site or Undercover Tourist. I think on Disney and Undercover tourist you can pay to have faster shipping.

You can usually buy tickets at the hotel you are staying at or even at downtown disney the night before.

Not that I totally believe Jim Hill (most Disney fans don't seem to), I'll take whatever glimmer of hope that I can get!

To sum it up, he's basically explaining what the reason was behind Frons ending the event and now supposedly "word is getting out" that this may not be the last SSW after all! He throws a lot of out of the blue ideas out there but I want to believe it. I think it would make sense to end the event now and then relaunch it later. I could see the reasoning behind it.

Last year, I was able to obtain 4 fastpasses for autographs each day with DH standing in line too but unfortunately, it took a lot of time out of my schedule. I made it to the game shows but was unable to make it to the regular shows. They do hand out magazines with the schedules in it when you get in line.

OLTL's line is usually shorter than AMC or GH. GH's line is so long. So unless you bring other family who doesn't want an autograph it is going to be super hard to get all those fastpasses.

Popping in...at work, so i can't stay and respond to things, but my schedule just got super busy all of a sudden....

Frons is a moron! The best thing that could happen to ABC Daytime is for someone to fire Brian Frons and Bob Guza, because they're not doing the network or the shows any favor. I've learned to, based on my past experience, to take any promises Frons makes with a grain of salt because he only delivers 50% of the time. He's all talk with hardly any follow through.

The last time my mom and I went to SSW they weren't doing the FP thing, so we need some major tips on how to do it. If we can only go on day, is Sunday less crowded?? We are HUGE GH fans so we really want to go, especially if this is the last SSW!

I am trying to get a trip together. This will be my first for SSW. I will be going strickly for AMC - Zach yummy! He will be my main attraction I plan on getting there early, early on Saturday. Do the same stars sign both days? So, if I cannot get one on Saturday then they will be back on Sunday. If I actually get things finalized then I am sure I will have more questions.

Usually all stars appear both days.

Sometimes due to illness a star may only appear one day (such as Alicia Minshew being under the weather for Saturday last year but she appeared on Sunday) or in the case of Cameron Mathison and Susan Lucci (due to Dancing with the Stars) they may only appear one day out of the weekend.

But generally every star is there on both days, but the schedules can change a little.

Does anyone have the scoop on the fast pass location change for this year? Sounds like we'll all be getting our passes in the Fantasmic area?? People on other sites are worrying about it, but I would imagine we'd all still be in our separate lines outside the gates, etc. like always...Anyone heard?
