Super Soap Weekend 2008?

Just got home. Had a crazy busy but fantastic time. I'm exhausted. I don't know how many times I walked from Hollywood Blvd. to the Backlot area. My god it had to be over 100. Saw EVERYONE. Videotaped all of the motorcades on Saturday. Very happy with myself for that. Photographed everyone at their autograph stations. Very happy about that.

Crowds seemed large but better than last year. Last year was a nightmare. This year was a breeze. Crazy crazy weather on Saturday. Sometimes overcast, sometimes rainy (only twice, one was a drizzle around noon and the other was a quick soft pour around 4ish) and then windy. What a weather day. Sunday was cold and gorgeous! Clear blue skies!

Sunday I was able to actually just stand at the barricades and get Cameron Mathison, Julie Marie Berman, Kristen Alderson, Jason Tam and Bobbie Eakes autographs. They signed the Soaps In Depth book. I was very happy about that. Almost had Farah Fath's but just missed her leaving. Also just missed Ricky Paull Goldin, although he was coming up and signing stuff, he skipped a lot of us. Not a big deal but it was odd, when everyone else who could (and he could of) sign, did, even Cameron, who was really being rushed away. I also just missed Bradford Anderson.

But the one autograph that I didn't list above that made me the happiest? Greg Vaughan's! He was truly the best about signing everything for everyone, taking pictures, no matter what. Awesome guy. Super nice, too.

I saw a lot of fans crowding Michael Saucedo (ex-Juan, GH) who is Rebecca Herbst's husband, as well as Eddie Alderson (Matthew, OLTL) who is Kristen Alderson's brother more than before.

Darnell Williams (Jesse, AMC) had massive crowds. As did Brandon Barash (Johnny, GH). Thorsten and Alicia maintained their heavy crowds. Greg Vaughan had quite the crowd as did Michael Easton and Bradford Anderson. Kelly Monaco's wasn't as massive as it has been but it was still large. Susan Lucci's on Saturday was the largest I've seen for her in all three years I've attended.

Great, great time! The Street Jam was amazing.

We found things hectic but manageable on the Saturday.
We only got stand by passes for Kelly Monaco but still got a photo and autograph in session #1.
We were at Epcot yesterday and saw Kimberley McCullough at the China pavillion with 2 small kids (not sure who they were).
There was a protest petition being passed around to try and save the annual Soap Weekend as opposed to the other idea they want to start next year (I can't see the actors being too happy with having to do muliple appearances all over the country instead of one weekend in November.)

I got back yesterday around 8pm, and had a good time. Friday night, was AWESOME, got some great shots at Epcot of the stars going in and out and to the fireworks area over by Italy! Got some UP CLOSE ones too! I have to admit...some of the Castmembers were REALLY rude this year, blocking my camera friday night, and telling me to "move, move out of the way"! I just ignored them, and went about my business, until, I had trougble going into ABC Commisary to use the bathroom. A CM met me at the door, and asked if I would be "dining with us today" and I said "no, but I need to use the bathroom." She than tried to direct me to ANOTHER rest room, miles away, and I pleasantly told her, I needed to "use the facilities NOW, and I would use thiers!" She than let me pass, and I said "Maybe you should give out Fastpasses for the Bathroom!" Other than that, not very many fans came, I mean it was busy, but the Fastpass give out was a LOT better this year, shame, they finally got thier act together with that, and now it will be no longer.... Anyone else back? Reviews? Photos?

Saturday was bad, I was out there at 1am and only got 1 fastpass and 1 standby I think last year fastpass route was better sunday was a lot better only got 3 fastpasses but line and how they had people around was better, but I did hate the fact that we had to put our park tickets back in once we got a fastpass and wanted another one.

seen Tyler Christopher on sunday didn't have a fastpass but did get his autograph he was not into it at all believe it was his second signing that day he was late, one of the ladies said they were out partying the night before and so he was taking a nap but she said she wasn't sure he was gonna show also she said she believes that the nation tour won't work and they will probably be back in 2 yrs. When Tyler finally came out he didn't look happy at all the lady that talked to all of us towards the end of his signing told him to smile more, don't think he likes big crowds and when he came around to sign things and take picture's omg people were crazy.

Also on sunday seen the show with Star,Cole,Langston,Marrko and Gigi I don't know what was up with GiGi but she wasn't happy about being there either. She looked miserable. JP didn't look happy either on sunday to much partying I guess.

Heard a few people say on sunday that Aiden was wrong for not signing his standbys some said he signed for people in the crowd and left the standbys out, so glad he was my first person to see on Saturday he was pretty cool, my mom is from England so she told him and also told him that my sister and I were behind her so he asked if I've been to England I said no so he says well get your *** there lol also told me to go his site there are some decent picture's of him there don't know where that came from but ok lol I didn't ask about his site or anything

I didn't see alot of people or get alot of autographs I get so lost in that park but I had a blast hopefully this nation tour doesn't work out to well and they come back

Sheesh - I was at Epcot Friday night and didn't see anyone Where were they? We were on the bridge by the international gateway from 7:30 - 8 and watched the shuttle launch - got poured on and left so maybe it was too early?

You had to be over by the Ameican Pavillon, as that was where the "dinner" was....if you had seen the CMs with Red batons and Green Batons, that is where you should have been! They had the stars come thru the area next to American Pavilon and Italy. They came around there, and thru the front where the Kisok was for Fife and Drum and another Kiosk selling American items. Than, they went thru the doors NEXT to the American Adventure show, where they had the dinner. This was around 7:30-8:00pm. Around 8:45pm, they came out and went over to Italy where the Stairs are, and stood there and watched Illuminations, than, went back thru the area by Italy and AA! Not ALL the Soap stars where there, Susan Lucci was there, but we did NOT see her go in, she may have went another way, but we saw her come out to go to the Illumations area! And, yes it rained off and on and we got soaked going back to the hotel, we had to take a cab.

Got back last night but didn't get a chance to download my pics yet. I was with Faith (Poohbear123) in EPCOT Fri night and she got some GREAT pics!!!

Sat was crowded but not unmanagable like last year. Sunday was much better. I had a Standby for Darnell Williams on Sat and was the last Standby they took for that session because he had somewhere else to be. Sun I was able to get FP for Ricky Paull Goldan and Eden Riegal. I went to the AMC parade and talk thing at the 'hat' that morning and was right next to the stage. The guy getting questions from the audience asked me if I wanted to ask them anything so I came up with something real quick. He ended up asking them my question! When Vincent Irizzary was answering I waved and said 'That was my question' so he talked directly to me while answering.

I went to the AMC Talk Show hosted my Bob Guiney that afternoon. One person asked Thorsten Kaye about the passing of Eileen Herlie (Myrtle). He was so shaken up he started to cry. It was very emotional.

I only stayed for about 45 minutes of the Street Jam Sat night because we were told the boat back to Beach Club was ending at 9. Bob Guiney Band was the low light of what I saw. I wish there would have been less of him.

I'll try to download my pics tonight and post some of them. I was able to get some great shots.

I agree. Last year listening to Kassie was painful. I haven't thought she was good even when she sings on OLTL.


On bus to the airport yesterday I met one of the reporters for Soaps In Depth. A couple of other SSWer's were on the bus also and we were all talking about the ups and downs of the weekend.

I had absolutely no wish to be in that mess on Saturday but we went over to DHS and the GH group in the morning was up on stage. Saw the motorcade leave so we asked a CM how this works. They directed us to this spot next to the stage where the motorcade stops and lets the stars out and they walk up on stage. It was AWESOME!!! We saw Sherri Shepard and Tony from Dancing with the Stars with Susan Lucci and that was just cool. I use to be a huge fan of all these soaps and so to be able to stand there with people that are still into the shows and know what is going on and could talk to me and update me was awesome. Got some great pics.

Sherri is back on The View today and is showing stuff from the weekend. I'm still here at WDW as my husband has a conference and am sitting here watching The View right now while waiting to go to lunch.

It was just the coolest time on Saturday. I was so in awe of everyone around me. And the kids that were into these stars was amazing - it reminded me a lot of me when I was their age. I was so into Luke and Laura and Jesse and Angie and Vicki and all her crew. It was just cool - now I get why you were all so excited!

That's Farrah Fath. She's like that. She wasn't nice to some of her fans and made a comment on stage about "you don't make it in this business if you're an *******" (she should practice what she preaches)

She looked miserable on Saturday. She seemed a little better on Sunday. My mom was a big fan of hers and she quickly changed her opinion based on her whole obvious attitude. Reminded me of Melissa Gallo back in 2006. Seemed sour a lot of the times and just bothered to be there.

Jason Cook seemed to enjoy it but looked clearly ... freaked at times by the crowd reactions. I think he was probably nervous too as he wasn't sure what the fan reaction to his character would be.

Soapnet.com has several videos up. Sherri Shepherd recapped the event on The View today. I uploaded all of the motorcades from Saturday onto YouTube (except the two OLTL motorcades, I'm doing that today). I for some reason didn't get Susan Lucci's motorcade, although I thought I had

I also videotaped the grand motorcade and the stars dancing on stage to "Lets Get Loud" and I also videotaped Susan Lucci dancing with Tony Dovolani.
