Hi All,

I have started a petition to try and save SSW. It will be presented to Brian Frons and the Disney-ABC Television Group. Any and all help is appreciated. Please feel free to distribute it to any website where it will count. Anyone who knows how to make internet links to it cool! I am not that computer savy. Send to all your Soap Friends. I want to try and get as many signatures as possible. Let us show Mr. Frons how many of us support the continuation of SSW! Anyone who wants to print it and distribute at a Soap event please feel free to contact me. This site will not let me do URL's so go to Petition Spot dot com and look for SaveSSW or Please don't scrub SSW. Anyone who has over 10 posts here can put the URL on this site.

MrsK and Froggy- I agree with you about MEK!!!! How can there be no MEK with Darnell being there or no Debbie Morgan! maybe they will add them. hopefully, Susan will get to go as well.

I hope they change there minds about this being the last SSW! I live in NC and don't have much hope of the soap stars coming near me! I did see Kamar and Mark Consuelos @ Planet Hollywood in Myrtle Beach back in 2000, which was nice. Other than that I don't think there's much chance of seeing any stars! Besides I love going to Disney to see them. SSW is so much fun. I've been to all but 2 of them and I would hate to see them end.

Does NOT surprise me about SSW ending, I figured LAST year would have been the last year. OK, so, I have NO reason to go to WDW in Nov. anymore, YAY! Not even sure I will be there this year, I have a room booked and plane fare, but no ticket, or spending money, this economy sucks! As far as MEK not being there, I don't really care, he only PAYS attention to you if you are Blonde and Good looking, and he slobbers ALL over them. He likes EYE candy, I have seen that first hand! Best of luck to all who do go, I may not.

I have to respectfully disagree with your assessment of MEK. I am not blonde or good looking and he paid attention to me and my bf who has Cerebral Palsy and is in a wheelchair, he made sure to talk to us the past two years. I have seen him talk to everyone no matter what color your hair is, no matter what you look like, every time I saw him he was friendly and sweet to every one in sight.

Oh, yes, I agee with you on that, but if you are not disabled in any way, have big ****s and look like A model, you get LOTS of attention too....I watched him for 45 min, last year, and I walked away shaking my head in disbelief. Made me wonder WHY he was divorced, but after the "show" I saw, I knew why!

okay... almost a whole day since this petiton was posted and we only have 159 people who have signed it.... We need more of a response to get our point across... everyone please sign it and send it to all your family and friends and have them sign it Lets make ABC change their minds about SSW...

This is insane! How can they cancel such a popular event? Can you imagine the money Disney/ABC makes from this event. And they are going to cancel it?? How can this be the end? No Susan Lucci, no Michael Knight. No ending with a big bash of highly popular stars?? I cannot believe it.

This event has been a bonding trip for me, my mom, my sis, and my step mom. We all go every year! It is such a meaningful trip for us and SSW is the common ground for this mix of family. I am truly heart broken and cannot imagine a year without it. Nothing, NOTHING, can replace it.

I signed the petition and sent an email. Not sure what good it will do. Do we know for sure this is true, or could it be just a rumor?

I am really disappointed that this is the last year for SSW. I am so glad I decided to go.

I am also very disappointed about the cancellation of future SSW's. I can't go this year because of the date change. I had plans to go the week of 11/1-11/8 and had counted on SSW being then, because it had always been the second weekend in Nov.
I was looking forward to going next year instead, and now I'll never be able to go again
