Did my shirts, and they are looking awesome! I used red shirts. I will redo my first b/c I was nervous, so I only left it on about 10 minutes. It isn't very light where the bleach was. They all look great though! I think I am gonna wait on my son's though. He loves Goofy, so when I find a Goofy head to use I will do his. Thanx for the easy to follow instructions. Interested in learning about the Elmers glue project!

I couldn't find black spray-style paint so I bought regular fabric paint and spritzed the best I could. It ended up more like an 80's paint splatter style, but still cute.

Cute shirts! To expand on this, if you want something a little more specific put a coloring page under the shirt and trace the lines of the character with the glue bottle. Then add the dye and wash as normal.

I just made these shirts for my upcoming trip in July. I liked this idea because it was easy and different than the usual iron on transfers that I do. Here are the results:

The shirt on the left is coral colored and took about 20 minutes. The one on the right is sort of a mauve and took less than 5. Because this one bleached so fast, the spirals on the ears started to run together, and there were a couple of random bleach spots that appeared out of nowhere. I didn't have any chalk, so I just did it freehand. They were very easy, and I think they came out cute! Thanks, OP, for the idea!

Thanks OP!! I've had this thread bookmarked for half a year or so, and finally made one of these for my daughter.

I was surprised how super easy it was!! The only mistake I made was not realizing how long I needed to leave the bleach on as it is a light colored shirt. Originally I left it on for 5 minutes. After it was washed & dried, I had to re-apply the bleach and left on for 15 minutes. Maybe I should have waited 20. But it looks good and my DD is happy!

We did it for oir May trip. It was pretty easy. We did the bleach heads, no spray. They turned out nice. The red ones were easier. The black ones were hard to do bc the color bleached out so fast that it was hard to rinse without getting it elsewhere.

I tried two shirts today and they both failed miserably! Bummer! I'm thinking that my Clorox pen was too old...it was over a year old. Trying again later one with fresh pen.

Ok, I'm crying uncle on this one! I'm such a crafty person and can't believe I can't get it to work. I used the Vim with Bleach suggestion the OPer suggested, but that too didn't work.

Oh well. Ok, so the funniest thing is, I can accidentally ruin a brand new shirt with Vim with Bleach, but can't PURPOSEFULLY craftily bleach out one of my kid's old crappy shirts!!!! Figures!!! LOL Oh well, at least it was fun trying! LOL The designs look really cool while the white gunk is still on them, perhaps do it in fabric paint?

thanks to this thread, we made a couple of similiar t-shirts last week.... we had a glass mickey head plate (wouldn't those old child meal plates work too?) laid it on a colored t shirt,and sprayed lightly with 20% bleach/80% water solution..... it took less than 2 minutes, to see results, then a thorough rinse,and a cool tie-dye looking mickey head shirt!
just picked plate up carefully when we got the color we wanted....we made 3 in less than 10 minutes!
