Super Sick Monday...

Well, yes and no. I'm choosing not to put my name in for subbing today, but not because because of the game. (I'm obviously up anyway.) I have workmen coming to fix my solar panels, so I have to be here.

Wasn't it all over by like 10:30? Why would you have to call in sick?

I'm already at work, so no. I was really sick all weekend with a stomach bug, so I wasn't sure if I would be able to come in today or not, but am feeling better.

I took off this day over a month ago. I always take off the day after the super bowl. I told my boss i need off for the parade. I didn’t send my kids to school today. We didn’t get home until 1 am.

I'm already at work, but I did wake up feeling like crud. Didn't watch the Superbowl. Do have a co-worker who called in with a sick kid o_O.

The after parties. Taking shots during the game. Hangovers. We didn’t get home until 1 am.

Many moons ago, I called in "sick" after a night of drinking. My boss was even buying me shots. I got suspended.

IMO, part of being a responsible adult is knowing how to control yourself and plan on fulfilling your obligations accordingly.

That why:

1. I only had 3 beers yesterday over the course of the game.
2. I'm at work. Er... and on the DIS.

I always take the day after the super bowl off. I’m also allowed 5 call outs a year at my job. With no issues. So IMO if you’re allowed to call out and you’re not screwing over a coworker then go ahead.

At my employer, with a few exceptions, if someone calls in sick, someone else needs to fill the role.

My kids had a 2 hour delay too. For "ice" - I do sort of wonder if the admins figured it was a convenient excuse. :rotfl2:

I'm retired from our schools but our District called no school after receiving a whopping 2.8 inches of snow with drifts up to 3 inches that occurred on Sunday and was done before the Super Bowl was!!! :charac2:

........and I live in Michigan!

........and I don't think I've ever used that emoji!
