:earsboy: Hi usually when we go to DL we take the airport bus from LAX but because it seems like we are are always at the last hotel to get dropped off thought we'd try super shuttle this year. I now keep hearing about problems like being driven around dropping people off other than at hotels around DL. We were on the understanding that it would be us 3 plus maybe four other people and go direct to hotels. Anybody used them recently and how was it
Thanks 62 days to go :cool1:

We just got back this morning and used Super Shuttle from LAX. I heard the bad stories as well, and since there were 4 of us, I just booked an exclusive van. It cost a total of $32 more each way than if we did the regular route, but I figured that was better than driving around for a long time and possibly going way out of the way.

When we got to the stand, they called for a shuttle for us. We probably waited 10-15 minutes. As it turns out, another couple showed up as we were leaving and was also going to the Anaheim area, so we probably wouldn't have had to wait long, but it was nice to just get on the road and go straight to our hotel, especially since it was a short trip for us and I didn't want to waste a second of it driving around in a van. The woman at the stand said that they normally drive around the airport twice to fill the van. If it isn't full by the second pass, they will go on.

For our return, we did the same thing and scheduled them to come to our hotel at 6:30-6:45. The van showed up at 6:25 and we were on our way. For me, it was worth booking it exclusively to have the peace of mind.

We waited 15 minutes for a shuttle, and then it did a full lap of LAX before filling up and heading straight to Anaheim.

We were then the last of the 4 hotels they stopped at, but that added perhaps 5 minutes to the trip.

It was perhaps 75 minutes from us arriving at the stand, to being dropped off and the service was efficient and friendly so I'd recommend them.

On the way out they arrived early and I had to scramble to get down there, but I suppose this was better than being late.

Paying a bit extra for the exclusive sounds like a good idea though.

We have used super shuttle a number of times and have always found them to be good.

On our last trip both supershuttle rides from and to LAX included 30 to 40 extra minutes for drop off/pick up of passengers at residential stops and NOT DL area hotels even though we were on a "Disney Express".

I have only used the shuttle service on my trip this past Jan. and found it to be quite good. We used the Airport Bus (the one with the characters on the side) and they picked up every 1/2 hour and every hour when it got late. We didn't have a problem with it and our driver was quite fun.

My boyfriend has used the Super Shuttle before on his visits to see me from the airport to my campus and hasn't had any trouble. So if that is the route you are looking for he has had good experiences with them. As for it as Disneyland I do not know. Best of luck!

When my brother and family took it this past May, they swore that they would never do it again. Apparently, like you've heard, the shuttle stopped at 3 other places (none of them hotels, and none in anaheim) before they were dropped off at the GC. The total ride took almost two hours and my nephew (age 2) got car sick!

I have been hearing stories in the past year about unreliability and trips taking too long in So Cal. Add that onto 2 Mears shuttle disasters in Orlando, and I am officially off shuttles (especially getting back towards airports!)

of a taxi! $35. Their # is 714-381-9897.

They were recommended by the front desk clerks at HoJos...and the next time we'll go, I'll definitely use them again.

The vans are huge, but function more as taxis than shuttles. It's just you and your party...however many of you there are. One bonus, should you get stuck in traffic, there's no meter. It's a flat $35.

Plus, they can use the diamond lanes, so traffic shouldn't be a problem.

I heard nothing good about Super Shuttle...other than what the Unofficial Guide said. One thing about them and the bus, they don't take you to your door, from what I understand. They all drop you at the Ground Transportation site and you walk. Jag picks up and drops at the door!

At LAX we got on a supershuttle Disneyexpress van quickly and then took 2 1/2 hrs to our disney hotel which included a 40 minute round trip to a residential stop east of Anaheim. For the return trip we were picked up at a DL area hotel at 930a for a 1215p flight and arrived at the airport at 1115p, got through check in and security, to the gate just as boarding started. NOT IMPRESSED!@!@ NEVER AGAIN I would spend the extra money for 4 of us on limo service.

"Book with Jag...you get a private van for the price

of a taxi! $35. Their # is 714-381-9897."

Beth, what is "Jag"? I tried to find it under shuttles and limousines with no luck. Also, is that number for them that you listed toll free? On our last trip to DL our travel agent booked us a shared shuttle, and I don't want to go that route again. The $35 you quoted sounds great; I'd just like a bit more info about the company;)
Thanks,
Brenda

$35 from LAX?!? That seems awfully cheap. Are you sure that's not from John Wayne (Orange Co.), because I recall a taxi was around $35 from John Wayne and way more from LAX? John Wayne is less than 1/2 the distance from Disneyland as LAX.

We used limozip.com from our Disney cruise in San Pedro to Disneyland.
Our driver was Anthony and I would definitely book him again!

It was only a few dollars more than a regular super shuttle would have been for our group and was actually less than dedicated service with super shuttle.
We were lucky and caught some introductory pricing... I think they may have gone up a bit, but still far less than any other limo service I priced.

Just another option to check into.

the "ticket" I got when the desk booked me with them said, "Jag Transportation. Reservations-Direct Transportation Only. Limousines - Lincoln Town Cars and Vans. Phone 714-381-9879"

That's all the info I have on them, but the front desk at HoJos said they are the service they always suggest.

I think you could e-mail Willie Simpson at HoJo's if you want more information.

The number I have isn't toll free, and the slip didn't list a website, but maybe HoJo's could provide that info...along with the cost from LAX.

The van that came to pick us up had room for 10 passengers. It was clean and the driver was very courteous.

I liked the flat-fee concept because it wouldn't run up the fee if you happen to get caught in traffic. I also liked the fact that it was private, and the cost wasn't based on the number of people in your party.

I didn't see this service in either of the guides I purchased...

The Orange County/Anaheim tourism office provided me with information on some transportation...you might e-mail them, too, to ask what they know about this company.

Supershuttle also offers an execucar service. We used this just a couple weeks ago when the disney ship dropped us at the port. They were excellent...we were almost an hour late getting out of the port..the guy was still there holding the sign with our name on it.

We also used them from the GC hotel back to the airport 3 days later. We had a 4am pickup, we got outside that morning, the driver was out front waiting, with a limo none the less. That was a nice surprise and a great way to end our wonderful vacation.

Thanks everyone! I really appreciate that you took the time to give me some advice. I'm going to look into Jag Transportation, Beth; I really like the flat rate idea too. Thanks for the phone #!

Won't be using it again. I was headed for Long Beach airport and they put me in a van with some folks going to LAX. They were not pleased that there was someone going to a separate airport on the van. We made stops at two hotels and two private residences before going to Long Beach. Don't know how the LAX passengers fared with their flights.

I'm going back to Disneyland one more time, rented a car with National from LAX.
