I just booked a super secret to WDW in October! Here's the skinny:
My mom's 50th birthday is the beginning of November. To celebrate, my parents are taking a cruise the week before the big birthday celebration. Of course, since the cruise is leaving from Port Canaveral, my mom decided they wanted, no NEEDED, to fly down early & spend two days in Disney. Upon hearing this, I was struck by a flash of inspiration to surprise her. So myself & my 2 little brothers are flying into Orlando secretly the night before. My parents will do MK the first day they are there, so my brothers & I will arrive ahead of them and find a place to stand along Main Street. I was thinking of making a sign that says "Happy Birthday Mommy" (or something along those lines). My mom will walk up Main Street, see Cinderella Castle and then...see us!! I'm so excited to see if we can actually pull this off.
Thankfully, my mom is a planner, so she shouldn't stray at all from her 2-day plan. We've been talking about what she wants to do on this vacation and she had mentioned she really wanted to eat at Jiko this time. She was unable to get a reservation for her & my dad, so she just made reservations at Raglan Road instead. Little does she know I already made a reservation for the 5 of us for Jiko that first night! I've also made lunch reservations for the next day at Chefs du France, where we have never eaten.
So, I'm trying to plan out other little things we can do to make this a memorable trip. I figured I could pick up a birthday button for her at our hotel since my brothers & I are staying on-property (Wilderness Lodge) and my parents aren't (they're in one of the hotels on Hotel Blvd.). I was toying with the idea of making a little goody bag for her that would contain the button, but I have no idea what else to put in it...any ideas for that? My manager at work also had the great idea to send her flowers to their hotel room when they check in with a message that says "Have a great trip! Wish we were there!" Since they're not staying at a Disney-run hotel, we can't go through Disney Florist. Will other flower delivery companies deliver to hotels?
October 22nd can't get here fast enough!!
