Super Goofs June Team Challenge Thread

Hi team! Remember me? My sincerest apologies for going AWOL. While away, I did manage to get in some exercise and Lisa has been kind enough to allow me to post these hours. Here's the May hours (assuming we still record from Friday to Friday)

Most of these are in bike miles....
Week 1 (May 1-2):
Steve: 2 miles, 30 min

Week 2 (May 3-9):
Susie: 20.3 miles, 5 hrs, 10 min. (Note: 9.3 miles are from the Minnie 15K. If we still get double, then my miles would be 29.6. However, if possible, I'd like to donate those 9.3 miles to Cecilia. That's what I had planned to do originally.)

Steve: 41 miles, 5 hours

Week 3 (May 10 - 16):
Susie: 10 miles, 3 hours

Steve: 36 miles, 5 hours

Week 4 (May 17-23):
Susie: 21 miles, 4 hours

Steve: 54 miles, 7 hours

Week 5 (May 24 - May 31 - including the last day of May, Sat. May 31):
Susie: 20 miles, 2 hours

Steve: 60 miles, 5 hours

Great to have you guys back Susie. Serious miles!!!!! I am going to keep the donated miles under your name but the thought is still there and I am sure appreciated by Cecilia!

I am going to post these miles under the May spreadsheet as we have updated with a new one created by ScoJo15. Any miles/minutes that you have for last week and this week you can post and I will get those under the correct weeks for you...being as I am that far behind...:headache: Such is life.

Again, great to have you back!! We have really missed you and Steve!

Lisa,

Here are my hours for June so far:

Week 1 - Friday-Friday (June 1-6):
Susie: 10 miles, 45 min.

Steve: 24.5 miles, 3 hours

Not a great day for me. :( Today (Saturday) is my daughter Lindsey's 13th birthday :cheer2: but also the 6 month anniversary of my Mom's passing. So, it was a happy day with a few sad moments when no one was looking. Lots of "bad" food and too much soda. I actually don't feel so good from the junk. Tomorrow is a new day. I did get on the treadmill though so thats a good thing!

30 mins treadmill/1.34 miles

Happy Sunday everyone and Happy Fathers Day to any dads out there.

Good Sunday morning Goofs. I took yesterday as a rest day instead of XT. I just was not feeling the love. Today is 5-10 per the RW schedule that I am using and it is showering off and on so I will fit in what I can between softball games. If they win the 10:30 game this morning, we are off until the championship game at 2:30, otherwise we play again at 12:30 and so on until the final game. They have been on a winning streak so lets hope it continues!!!

Suzanne:  Being brave is tough but that's what mommies are...tough. We have to be. Keep exercising, I know it helps me work through the hard times. I hope that the b-day was was great. Lucky you, another mom of a teenage girl. I had forgotten how dumb we parents were until my DD turned 13!!! :headache:

Angie: I hope the 10K went well yesterday!!

Joanne: Darn you...I was looking at this one and considering it but was thinking the Hollis half was going to be good enough. I know all the Philly thread people are coming to Maine for the Maine Marathon in Portland on 10/5 and I am going to miss all them in transition to the Applefest. Now, stop egging me on....:hyper: :hyper: :stir: :hyper: :hyper:

Susie: You guys are cranking out miles. I have started biking again, but not like that!!! Good for both of you!!!

All other Goofy people: Keep on posting those miles/minutes. Mike should be back soon and with Cecilia gone for the week, it is going to be kind of quiet around here. Hmmm, time for me to start louding up again!!!! :surfweb: :scared1: lol. Happy father's day to those dads out there and lots of  for the Super Goofs!!!

Sunday...30 mins treadmill/1.33 miles

ksoehrlein-Congrats on your first race!!!! What an amazing feeling to cross the finish line. Sounds like you had a great pit crew and that helps alot! Can't wait to meet you at Race for the Taste.

Good morning Super Goofs. Well your captain let you down this weekend. No exercise at all. DD13 played ball in the pouring rain yesterday morning and I got absolutely soaked, head, feet, body, etcetera. We had a few hours between games and I came home, took a hot shower and lay down under a blanket with DS6 for a "few minutes". I call this the snuggle of doom because it always puts me to sleep!! We woke up just in time to jump back into the car and missed the first half inning of the game. They went onto lose and had to play another against the same team which they won. We arrived home at 7:45 p.m. last night, no dinner, and still wet because it kept raining. A lame excuse at best, but that's my story.

Ksoehlein: Congrats on your first race. Not only a PR (default or not) but way ahead of your goal time!!! :thumbsup2 Kudos to you!!!! :woohoo: :yay: :cool1:

Everyone else: :woohoo: for all of you too!!

I am not holding out much hope for making the 5K this weekend. Too bad too because the shirt alone was worth the $20 fee I paid to enter. I guess I have to let it go and tell myself it goes to a good cause (whatever that was too) and there will be other shirts. Apparently, until the Applefest, I am not "allowed" to race out of state. Not that I have time either. Between haying season and softball, I pretty much am tied up every weekend. I am going to finish out the RW 5K plan and then go back to the maintenance plan until fall. I was going to try for a 10K on the 4th of July but was informed, weather permitting, I will be in the hay field. Lucky me again. Needless to say, I am a little discouraged and down this morning. Oh, and it is raining again..... Tomorrow is the last day of school and then I have to work around the kidlet scheduling so I guess I am in maintenance mode by chance or by force. I will just live vicariously through everyone elses RRs!!!

Have a great day Super Goofs and I promise to get my steps in today if you promise to get in yours!! :goodvibes

Lisa Sending a little pixiedust: your way that the day/week improves.

ksoehrlein Congrats on your first race. (OOOOh, first time I've used the dancing banana--kinda cute!) You must feel so great about completing the distance and your PR. I did my first race in May, and it felt good.

As for me Today I go see the ortho and I've been doing some running in order to be able to properly describe my symptoms to the doc. So, of course, now my knee doesn't bother me at all! I plan to go anyway.
So Saturday I did 3 miles with the dog--another killer run. You can't just start out slow and ramp up. This dog runs as though a whole pack of squirrels and other fun creatures wer just out there waiting for him to chase! We ran and walked in about 30 minutes--and my left arm is getting a workout from just trying to reel him in on the leash. Nothing yeseterday except diggin out some dyalilies in the yard. Today did 3.1 miles in 28:15. Hey, if I'm going to run and then go see the doc, at least I should try running faster!

Maura

Lisa: sorry to hear of the loss of your next 5K. I know what you mean.....my schedule gets old too. My dh is out of town again, so I have baseball games all week on my own! I tried to get up this morning to run, and all I did was turn off the alarm and go back to bed. I feel really discouraged too.......we are a pair, aren't we????? :goodvibes I have decided that ds#2 will miss his b-ball practice tonight so I can go to Pilates with my dsis. I won't feel guilty either.....::yes::

I did get one run in this weekend.

Saturday: 60min
5 miles

HI Goofs,

well DD was in town and we did not run on Sat, instead we washed and waxed her car and the family car.

Anyhow Sunday 40 minutes for 3 miles outside

Today
3.0 miles in 40 minutes, plus another 10 for ab work.

The run was on the TM as the storms were out and the wind started to come out of the north. I really am trying hard to get the 3 miles in 30 minutes.

ksoehrlein I finished my first race ever last night! It was (naturally) a PR and also the furthest distance I've gone to date. 4 miles in 53:00. All the gory details are here
GREAT JOB ~~ I AM HAPPY FOR YOU AND JEALOUS!

Take care all!

Thanks for all the congrats on my race. I'm really itching to finish Couch to 5K and start concentrating on getting faster!

I did Week 7 Day 3 last night. 2.75 miles in 35:16.

So I went to the orthoo doc yesterday which turned out to be mostly useless. What did I learn? Well, I've got some "structural deficiencies"--something about my hips and range of motion and what that all ends up doing with my knees. Frankly, I listened, it sorta made sense, but then after I left I started thinking/forgetting/questioning. I wish they provided written reports (which they don't) because I don't know about you, but how often do you comprehend everything someone tells you of a technical nature on the first try? Apparently, I'm getting less and less able to do that!
He suggested exercises (which I already do) and maybe a change of shoes, to something with more stability/motion control (although I have forgotten which and have now called back for a clarification) and maybe orthotics. I must admit, I'm feeling sort of stupid. Maybe I can ask my GP to call and get the info. I mean really, it is my medical info!
I did at least ask him how badly I would screw up my knees if I kept running and he seemed to indicate that they would really hurt, but I wouldn't do any real damage. So I'll figure out something
Anyway, today I did weights for 45 minutes.

Maura

Maura- sorry you did not have better news.
Ksoehrlein- congrats on your first race!
Lisa- what do you mean you're not doing the half in Maine? You better!
Sorry about the weekend. Did I miss something or is it a LTO thing?

I did some stuff last week and I've forgotten what it was already.
Monday (6/16) 3.11 miles in 37 minutes. I am so slow on the treadmill but I like to watch Animal Cops when I run! Rode for 1.5 hours in the rain.

Tuesday- rode for 2 hours. 4.15 miles in 45:16, fitness yoga tonight!

I am so frustrated because I have not lost a single pound since I started running over a year ago.

So, first i'm going to appologize for hardly posting. I started a second job and have been working non-stop. I also felt kinda bad posting when I couldn't find the time (or energy) to fit in a work-out. :worried: Good news though! I found time! :hyper: It makes for a super long day (getting to the gym at 5:30-6ish and getting home from job #2 at about 8:30 pm) but i'm going to try it out for a while... So finally I have miles and time to add

1 mile- 17 mins and 70 mins other stuff (I hope i did that right... )

Hi Super Goofs,

I've been a very bad teammate lately...Sorry :confused3 .

I started doing a bootcamp in the park last week So far I have done 3 days (60 minutes each). I haven't had much time to do anything else...squeezed in 4 1 hour sessions on the elliptical (about 16 miles) ......and 1 1/2 hours on the Wii Fit :rotfl2: .

Keep up the great work everyone.

updates:

Monday...30 mins bike/5.85 miles

Tuesday...94 min walk/5.17 miles

Used my Garmin for the first time today and :lovestruc it!
