Super Busy after Irma and Crowd Tracker Accuracy

My dates are 9/24-9/29. Email from TP showed crowd levels decrease. Most were only at 3-4 to begin with, but have dropped. MK increased from 3 to 4 the day we leave.

It's hard to say what will happen, but I'm watching wait times in MDE from here on out. Remember- TP crowd level predictions are based on wait times, not necessarily how many people are in the parks.

I've only been once, but my ds has autism, making us kind of a similar situation. When we went that happened that Saturday was slammed (thankfully we weren't in the parks but at a wedding) and Sunday was GREAT, even in MK. I think, just looking at things, that the sooner you get there the better. It seems like the low crowds are due to logistics and levels are likely only to go up. We're going in a few weeks, and I'm getting kind of scared that the rebound and people making up their dates could be in full swing when we get there. I think we might do more days and do shorter days. I'm also going to try to have some off the grid options, things that aren't as popular. That way if it *is* busy we'll still be doing stuff, just not as in the thick of it.

But yeah, if I could adjust and go earlier, like right now, I definitely would.

My dd has autism too. Our plan is more days but shorter days too. If we get 3 or 4 good hours in I am calling it a success. We leave in morning so I think we will attempt this Sunday and hope for the best. I am just grateful that we are still able to go.

Local AP holder here, I just went to DHS about two days ago and it was VERY slow, TSMM was a 10 minute wait. I don't think I have ever seen it that low. Also something interesting happened, me and my Girlfriend were sitting waiting for the fireworks and a CM asked us if we wanted VIP viewing of the fireworks and they gave us lanyards and allowed us to stay in the dessert party viewing area. I thought it was really nice and us being big Star Wars fans it was awesome (we were wearing our R2 and C3PO ears). However there was barely any guests in the viewing area, it was really empty for the most part, maybe it had to do with everything cancelling/leaving early due to the storm???

Just curious, after having to reschedule my September trip due to IRMA (yes I am one of THOSE people) what should I expect the crowds like week of October 10-14?

It will be busy. That's columbus day week and any week with a holiday in it is busier. Many schools have a fall break now and many people are doing disney in October. Over the last few years, October has become very popular.

We rode out the hurricane and were here this week with almost every ride as a walk on, with the exception of a few of the biggies. We have seen the crowds increase as the week went on, but still the lines were very reasonable.

The CMs have commented that this is as slow as they have ever seen it. One example was Cinderella's royal table was half full at most. Our waitress said she has never seen that. She only had our table to take care of.

Not everyone staying at our resort are tourists (CBR). We have a bunch of electrical contractors here working on the power situation in Orlando. Tons of folks locally still don't have power.

Anyone currently at the parks and can update? MDE looks to be at a pretty normal level, so the low crowds and short waits may be over.

Yeah we drive down tomorrow. I was hopeful when I saw TP report and most of our days went down. Unfortunately they may have miscalculated. Oh well. At least we'll be in WDW!

Yeah...it seems like most crowd reports at WDW are unexpectedly low after Irma(which seems to have been a recurring theme throughout 2017). However, it seems that people are reporting strong crowds over at Universal. I wonder what this is about? Especially surprising considering that Disney has Food and Wine right now?

Local here - went to Epcot on Sunday and found it pretty busy. I wouldn't say it was dead at all but this was after 12PM. But it was just unbearably hot. We need to wait a few more weeks.... :)

halloween horror nights opened last friday.
it brings in the crowds and fills the onsite hotels.

Going 9/23-10/1. Just saw many of the parks hours have extended. Anticipating higher crowds maybe?

Going 9/30 - 10/7. Our park numbers have gone up 1-2 points according to TP. :scared:
