Super bowl weekend crowds??

Anyone know if it's more/less crowded during Superbowl weekend in the parks? Jan 29th weekend

Just to clarify, Jan 29 is the weekend between the Conference Championship games and the Super Bowl. Super Bowl XL is on Sunday, February 5, 2006. there are no NFL games the weekend of January 29, 2006.

Thanks, I was looking on an online calendar and it showed Super bowl that weekend. Can you tell I'm a big football fan??

I don't think the Superbowl will effect crowds much next year since it is being played in Detroit. I think this year it might have since it was in Jacksonville and that's such a short drive. I know that's why my family and BIL's family went and we saw lots of folks from New England and Philly (and several of us very sad Pittsburgh folks!).
I would expect crowds to be normal for that time of year.

We were there this year during SuperBowl week and weekend. The crowds were not too bad, except for the Monday right after the game. The MK was a mob scene that day, but the other parks were not bad. The weather at that time of year is lovely, but too chilly for swimming, IMHO. It is very nice for touring the parks, though.

We were also there during Superbowl weekend this year. I did get to leave WDW early enough Sunday to catch the game at home, as it is only a 2 1/2 hour drive for us. As you said the parks were not overly crowded and it was way too cold for the pools. The only large influence the SB would have on Disney would be locals leaving the house with kids while the other half has their SB party (trying very hard not to be sexist).

It was very crowded, particularly MGM. But it seemed like most of the folks we saw were from New Orleans because it was also Mardi Gras while we were there. Of course, I've only ever been there in November before. Let's just say it was more crowded than November. I did not think it was too cold to swim. But then again I am from Alaska and "too cold to swim" is probably impossible in Florida (imho). If the SB was not in Florida you wouldn't get the crowds from it but I am quite certain that New Orleans vacates to Orlando during Mardi Gras.

This past year was the first time I've seen the parks crowded the Monday after the game - guessing since the game was close by many more took advantage of WDW. The day of the game wasn't bad at all!!!

Was disappointed to not see the MVP there this year - had really enjoyed seeing Tom Brady at MGM and MK!!!!

And I just remembered that there was some type of cheerleaders' event and yes, on the day we visited MGM, it was pretty crowded. However, we usually don't stay all day in MGM - just visit our favorites and head to another park. So the crowds didn't have much influence on us.
