We are planning on going to Disneyland/CA Adventure on either Super Bowl Sunday or the Monday after. We unfortunately only have time for one day. For both parks. The parks are open 16 hrs on Sunday as opposed to only 10 hrs on Monday. We want to maximize our time there and are traveling w/out kids. I'm sure Monday will be less crowded but is it worth giving up 6 hours of Disney time? Any advice?

My friends spent Super Bowl Sunday at the parks last year and they said it was empty. Have fun!

We were there two years ago on SuperBowl Sunday.

The morning was nice and empty, but it got kind of busy that evening. It really cleared out after fireworks. At the height of the crowds it wasn't unbearable by any means.

Go into the day knowing crowds will be a little higher, but I'd definitely take that 8AM-Midnight Sunday instead of the 10AM-8PM Monday.

I love 11pm-midnight in the parks! I think it's a great time as crowds just keep decreasing, especially great to hit up the Fantasyland dark rides since the little kids (and their parents) have had it by then. Sometimes I find the crowds to be so thick in that part of the park I miss out on a lot of the beautiful detail that's been put into the area. Just today Disney Parks Blog had a photo of an ornamental clock chandelier that hangs in the drawbridge walk through. I've been through there countless times, but never thought to look up! The shops on Main St stay open (I believe) for 1 hour after closing & it's a great time to wander through the stores if you're still awake. I too would go for the day with increased hours in favor of Mon.

Thanks all. We have decided to go on Sunday. Ultimately, the extra time is too tough to pass up. And I love the idea of catching some of the things that we might not normally do during the daytime hours.

Can't wait.

I have been on Superbowl Sunday before and it was great! The place was practically empty for most the day. Of course, around the time that the game was about to end people finally showed up, but by then we had ridden many things multiple times so we were fine with slowing down to take a break.
