We are a "non football family, but for years hosted the SuperBowl Party. We had the biggest tv.:rotfl2: And I was the only wife willing to do all the work:rolleyes1. We like to cook and entertain.
Here are some of the things I've put out.
*Veggie Platter
*Chips/dips
*Sweet/Sour Kielbasa. place in crockpot on low with equal parts of ketsup and grape jelly. There is no way to mess this up. EASY,EASY. And everyone loves them.
*Same with frozen meatballs. You can also use BBQ sauce.
* Pigs in a blanket. mini franks wrapped in cresants and baked
*Chili in a Bread Bowl. This one is time consuming. DH makes the bread himself.
*Pulled pork sandwiches. Also done in the crockpot.
*Finger sandwiches. Tuna, egg salad, chick salad, ham and pickle, and seafood salad.
*wings
*BBQ ribs
*Sausage/Peppers/Onions/Potatoes
*Mac and potato salad and cole slaw.

Assuming you serve with taco chips........?

Also, I have no clue what this is called...

Meatballs, either precooked or make your own
Grape Jelly
Heinz Chili Sauce (not chili!! this is usually located near the BBQ sauce and other condiments)

Mix everything together in a crockpot and heat it up. You can serve it alone or with a side of rice.

I've been wanting to make this. Do you use a whole jar of the chili sauce and a whole jar of the grape jelly? How long do you let it cook? I'm assuming you cook it on low or med?

Yes, serve with tortilla chips.

I bet if you shred lettuce and tomato and sour cream in soft taco shells I bet this could make a wonderful meal. I would add refried beans and spanish rice on the side. Yummy. I will definately make this one and the stuffed jalapano peppers.

7 layer dip:

In a 9 x 13 pan layer the following
-one can of refried beans with one can bean dip
-guacamole (homemade or store bought; i prefer homemade :thumbsup2)
-16 ounce carton of sour cream mixed with one packet taco seasoning
-chopped green onions
-chopped tomatoes
-large can of sliced olives
-shredded cheddar or colby jack cheese

Made it this past weekend and it was gone! I was angry that I didn't grab some right away...guess that's what happens when you have 7 hungry men around

I'm not one much for recipes, I usually just throw everything together and taste it. I think that I used 2 jars of the Chili Sauce to one large jar of Grape jelly. I started out on high for a few hours and then put it on low. If I was going to away all day, I would just put it on low.

Also, some people I know put the meatballs in frozen, but I like to have them cooked and the grease drained off.

I use equal parts of both, here a recipe..

The combination of sweet grape jelly and tangy-hot chili sauce makes an intriguing sauce for classic meatballs. Serve at your next party.

Meatballs in Chili-Grape Jelly Sauce

1 (16-ounce) bottle chili sauce
1 (16-ounce) jar grape jelly
1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
1/2 cup dry bread crumbs
1/2 cup tomato ketchup
1 large egg, beaten
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
In a large skillet, combine chili sauce and grape jelly and heat over medium-low heat until melted and well combined.
Combine beef, bread crumbs, ketchup, beaten egg, onion, salt and pepper in a large bowl. Form into meatballs 1 to 1 1/2-inches in diameter. Add to skillet, turn gently to coat, cover and simmer on low for 1 hour.
Serve warm.
Makes 6 servings.

Love this idea. The people that we have over like things the hotter the better.

My husband asks for this every year....SO easy to make and tasty as heck!

Slow cooker buffalo chicken sandwiches:

4 skinless, boneless chicken breasts, cut into halves
1 (17.5 fluid ounce) bottle buffalo wing sauce, divided (we use Franks)
1/2 ounce package dry ranch salad dressing mix
2 tbsp butter
hoagie buns

Place chicken breasts into a slow cooker and pour 3/4 of the wing sauce and the ranch dressing mix. cover and cook on low for 6 hours.

Once chicken has cooker, add the butter, and shred the meat finely with 2 forks. Put the rest of the wing sauce in slow cooker and cook for another 30 min to an hour. Pile the meat onto the hoagies and enjoy!

I usually double this, for a crockpot:

Chili Con Queso
1 lb. Velveeta
4 oz. chopped chili peppers
1 can chili (no beans)
4 chopped green onions

Cook on low until melted -- about 2-3 hours.

Sounds yummy, but I would have to double that recipe for my DD alone, She loves Queso and gets very protective of it. ;)

Here in Cincinnati we are famous for our chili (Cincinnati Chili). We make a Chili Dip

Layer cream cheese in a 9 by 13 dish
Top with Cincinnati Chili (Skyline is preferred)
top with cheddar cheese

Bake or microwaive until heated through and the cheese is melted.

Serve with scoop Fritos.

Enjoy

Baked artichoke dip

1 can artichoke hearts in water, chopped
1/2 cup roasted red peppers, drained and chopped
1/2 cup sour cream, light or regular
1/2 cup mayo (I use Hellman's canola oil mayo)
8 oz block Monterey Jack cheese, small dice
Garlic powder to taste

Combine and bake at 375 until golden and bubbly, usually 28-35 minutes. Serve with crackers of your choice.

Fresh mozzarella with marinated sundried tomatoes

1/2 - 3/4 cup sundried tomatoes (not packed in oil), julienned
1 cup boiling water
1/2 cup olive oil
1/2 cup white wine vinegar
2 garlic cloves, minced
1/2 tsp. salt
8 oz ball fresh mozzarella
1 baguette

Combine tomatoes and water. Let stand 5 minutes and drain. In a plastic container, combine oil, vinegar, garlic and salt. Add the tomatoes. Cover and toss. Refrigerate overnight. Right before serving, slice the mozzarella and cut each slice into halves. Place on a serving dish in rows and cover with the tomatoes. Serve with baguette slices. Can easily be doubled for a large crowd.

45 jalapeno chile peppers cut in half and seeded
1 1/2 lb bacon cut into 3rds
1 cup cheddar cheese (optional)

brown sausage and drain
partially cook bacon in microwave
mix cheese(s) and sausage

Fill peppers with mixture and wrap with slices of bacon. Secure with toothpicks

That is an interesting pan, where did you get it?

I actually ordered it online at bass pro shops because I had a gift card. You can also get it on amazon.

Try googling jalapeno cooker also.

I like to make it with the sweet red, orange and yellow peppers also.
