So what is everyone making for the Super Bowl? Looking for inspiration. PS I don’t care who wins. I’m just interested in the food! 😬

Nothing. I would have ate before the Superbowl even started. Or I will have eaten? I don't know, when is the Superbowl? Who's in it? Detroit Redwings? Oh wait, the Superbowl isn't hockey, so I have no idea when it is or who is in it, LOL.

On the radio, it was said they added an extra half hour for commercials because they couldn't get them all in. Why even bother with it? I'll be in bed to go to work by halftime. I'll stay up until 4 am to get up for work at 5 for a 3.5 overtime playoff hockey game, I won't stay up past 11 to watch 2 seconds of play, and 20 minutes of standing around the field and commercial breaks, then another 4 seconds of play. Oh wait, they're contesting that. Here goes another 15 minutes of non-play. Way too slow and boring of a sport for me.

Well, um...hard to follow mrodgers but I'll have a go:o

Like a previous poster, we will have old bay wings here as well. Ribs, chips & dip, potato skins, onion rings....I'm not a huge football fan myself, but my husband and adult sons are so I have no problem helping them get all their food together! I only found out last night that the boys will be over, so I had to up my game so-to-speak from "just wings" for my husband ha ha!
I usually retire by half time but they'll stick it out for the whole game.
I'll probably get some cookies or something easy as dessert type item.

We're likely going to be rolling into the driveway right before kickoff as we're in Indiana all weekend at a soccer showcase, so nothing special this year. Might not make it to the end of the game without crashing into bed.

We are going to a party, bringing guacamole and chips (avocados 79 cents each at shoprite) and bacon wrapped cream cheese stuffed jalapeños. We always go to a party, it’s all about the food and commercials for me. Who is playing?

Because the commercials are generally more interesting than the game.

Nothing this year because if the man chooses to turn down house party invites he's received I'm sending him to the sports bar down the road;).

Since you are looking for inspiration here's a link that might be of help:

From it, I've made the tomatillo guacamole which I make pretty chunky (less after party cleanup mishaps) and wrap in lettuce leaves for those doing lo carb/gluten free and a towel wrapped bowl of seasoned pita heated and cut in wedges or tortilla chips for those who aren't.

As well a few of the chili recipes with this one being a regular fav:

https://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/our-favorite-texas-beef-chili-51249010Been making it since it first showed up in Bon Appetit magazine back in the 90s; freezes with ease.

This chili recipe takes less time to make and more easy to find ingredients:

Make with or w/o beans Cook's note: whenever a chili recipe calls for masa harina and you don't have any just run some corn tortilla chips thru yr food processor; makes a great substitute.

Lots of other dishes but search for yourself and see what appeals to you:).

No plans this year, which is nice. We've already had the discussion it's not going to pivot casually into two days of cooking and a house full of people the way it meandered last year. Too much flu and other respiratory stuff flowing through our circle this year.

Don't really feel like fussing. I'll probably just make something light for dinner and put together a couple appetizers and call it good. Might splurge with several hours with a good book.

Chicken wings in the Power Air Fryer oven (Cajun, beer chicken and coffee rub seasonings). Nachos with beans, cheese, red onions and radishes. My Dome Advantage New Orleans Saints towel to drown my tears for the 3rd straight year!

"The" man? Now there's only one man in the world? :rotfl2:

Hey, at least he with a DISser!!!
For me he is:).
The term is only capitalized when he's been exceptionally good.
When he was bad, and we lived in a larger apartment, I called him "studioman" as in " Whyyy don't you go to that man cave you created before I say something you'll regret?" He generally did and could stay there for days w/o either crossing the others' path. Over 30 years of un-wedded bliss and all are happiest if he's called either "the man" or "The Man";).

We usually do a variety of appetizers and sometimes have a few people over. This year we are attending a volleyball tournament about 2 1/2 hours away. Depending on the time that ends, we may miss as much as 3/4’s of the game. I’m guessing we’ll pick up a pizza on our way home.
