Super Bowl Commercials

The one with the fighter jets and the pilot not communicating correctly?

Not sure if Hardees still exists or not, but it wasn’t that long ago I saw one (probably within a decade)
Don't remember it. Hardees is still around here. There were a couple of breaks that all the spots were "local". I think they were all in the 2nd half.
According to AdWeek, “Some brands can buy time only in overtime, and if the game ends in regulation, their money will be returned.” It does also mention a short and longer version of the Schwarzenegger State Farm ad.

But it still costs money to produce a new ad, it's not just the cost to have the ad run. So why spend the extra money on a "new ad" when there's a good chance it won't get seen? Honestly, I saw the start of the State Farm ad, assumed it was a full repeat, and "tuned out".
Some depended on you knowing who the celebrity was to make sense. Bar runs out of beer, so a guy runs around the beach kicking a soccer ball. Maybe he is a retired soccer star? D. Marino then shows up in his yacht. Or the two former stars from Friends who didn't recognize each other. Or those cartoon characters apparently making fun of AI?
The soccer star was Lionel Messi. Probably one of the, if not the, best known athletes in the world. There were a LOT of celebrities in ads last night. And I'm terrible at putting faces to names.

Oh, I will say I was surprised one of our local commercials included John Stamos promoting a streaming service. How did I know it was "local"? He called out the city's name in the spot. Unless you all heard him calling our city, it was local. LOL.

Did anyone else see the Isaac's & Isaac's commercial?
It's a "local" spot, but I'm guessing they're in multiple markets. He's an injury attorney and has done what has had to be expensive ads during Super Bowls in the past.

I think they sell some local ads that are less expensive and not shown during 'prime' time of the game. Like before kick-off or the end of the half-time show.

That is correct. They are still relatively expensive spots, but don't cost nearly as much as the major ads.

We had local spots throughout the game. And just because some people didn't recognize someone hardly means that the majority of others did not. You just aren't their target audience.

I had to look it up myself, that is crazy. But I bet @Buzz Rules might think that is a bargain rate for a soccer star of his stature.
Eh, he is over paid nowadays in my opinion anyways. If the USA beats Argentina in this summer's Copa America, his value will definitely decrease. He will probably retire in 2 years.

Since I'm not in the target audience, my favorite was the VW commercial with the Neil Diamond Music.
