Super Bowl 44 Predictions

As Peyton's little brother, Eli will never receive the repect he deserves and in my opinion earned. I was thrilled when the Colts won in 06 and just as happy when Eli won the superbowl. This year, I am all about the Saints. Truthfully, whether they win or lose, I will be happy (but if they win, much happier) because of the joy they brought this season. I think that was evidence today by the massive parade of men wearing dresses to make good on the beloved Buddy D's promise that if the Saints ever made the superbowl, he would sport one. Also, the fact that there will be a celebratory parade the Tuesday following win or lose to give the fans a chance to say thank you.

As far as why it took an overtime field goal to win, after watching the game three times, in my opinion, Brees was not 100%. In fact, that was the worst offensive performance of the season. So, if the worst offensive performance still left us with a win. I wouldn't bank on the superbowl being worse than that one.

Thanks for posting this Cara! I'll bet we get plenty of negative comments regarding the parade.;) I've stayed away from this thread since Friday.:sad2:

I'll be the first to admit, Peyton has let his fame go to his head. I wouldn't call him down to earth anymore. However he is the star of the team and if we lose him, well, hopefully Painter works on his A game! lol

:confused3 I wouldn't have anything to say about the parade. Although, I don't really know much about it. Who cares that much to hate on it?!

I'm curious as to your reason behind your feelings about Peyton- I thought he sounded very gracious. He was very complimentary of both teams.

Agree, every time I've seen him play he comes off as a brat when things don't go his way. Always huffing and puffing on the sidelines, lol. I'm glad the Jets gave him a headache last Sunday. ;)

I should have said that I meant on a more personal level. I am sure that professionally he is very gracious. I just have many, many friends in the service industry who have taken care of him personally and he's been nothing but rude and a bad tipper :(

I'm glad somebody else thought that as well. That clearly was not the Saints offense that we know and love. I really think they can win the Super Bowl, but it's going to take a better game than the one they had in the NFC Championship. I think they have it in them. It's going to be a strange sensation to pull against the Colts because everyone in our house has been behind them since Peyton joined the team, but we'll manage. :thumbsup2 Those of you that give the Saints no chance against the Colts may be surprised. If our boys put their best out there, it's going to be a heck of a game.

I don't think the Saints have no chance, I just think the Colts are better.

I dont know that many here (or elsewhere) think the game will be 'easy' or that the Saints dont deserve to be there. The Saints are a very good team, as proven by their record.

Most Colts fans (or people that are picking them) just feel that if both teams play up to their potential the Colts should win.

These are all quotes from this thread from people who think it will be easy...

I expect the game to be very one-sided with the Colts way ahead by half time. I expect the Colts to be ablt to pull the 1st sting team in the 4th quatrer to let the 2nd and 3rd string guys get a chance to play in a Super Bowl.

Just my opinion but I think the Colts win this 31-14 without many problems.

There are 58 posters in this thread using the thread tools. I don't think the 3 quoted above who believe it'll be a blowout by the Colts equate to very many. I think the majority of those posting their predictions here believe the teams are pretty evenly matched and since they were the #1s in their divisions, I think they must be pretty evenly matched. I'm excited for a good game!

I watched the NFL network's rerun of the Giants-Patriots game in 2008 last night. Talk about an underdog! I don't think there was a single analyst that said the Giants could do it. It was pretty cool watching Eli and the Giants take down the big, bad, undefeated Patriots. Never count your chickens, as they say!!

All I know is that there are 5 more days until the big game!!

Hey all you NO residents, are they delaying school or closing school Monday for you guys there? Our superintendent has announced a city wide 2 hour delay and the archdiocese has closed schools Monday. Just curious if the same is going on for you guys?

Yes, from what I'm hearing the schools have the option of closing and many workplaces are as well!:cool1:

I don't know about delaying or closing schools on Monday here in Lafayette (Louisiana, not Indiana), but some of the churches are cancelling Sunday evening Masses or moving the time up from 6:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. One of the large Protestant churches has cancelled their evening service and has invited their members to go just to watch the game! GEAUX SAINTS!!!:cheer2:
