Did you see the fumbles? They weren't caused by the defense; the Vikings just simply dropped the ball several times.

Brees is a good QB sure, but he's no Peyton Manning who just won his 4th NFL MVP (a new record to boot). Come on.

I don't believe it'll be a blow out but I believe the Colts will be victorious! I'm going to say 31 Colts 24 Saints.

Exactly, look at what the defense did to Kurt Warner and Brett Favre since they're healthy. I might add, check out how the defense handled Tom Brady and Eli Manning when they were healthy. These are future Hall of Fame quarterbacks.

Also, New England should have beaten the Colts and Manning but the NE coach made a stupid decision.

Rankings mean nothing. Wins and losses are all that really matters.

I do agree that it was a stupid decision, but if you followed the Colts this year, you would know that they won half of their games in the last two minutes and had to come from behind to do it. PM is a dangerous 4th quarter, 2 minutes left QB. He is a football god!

I've followed PM since he was in high school and while I agree he is an excellent QB, he's not a god. Anyone can be rattled. We love him down here, we just know our defense can handle him.

I'm just amazed at how little respect the Saints get- we went 13-0, beat the "big name" teams, have a quarterback just as good if not better than Payton Manning, etc.

We love the Mannings, and would root for them if they weren't playing the Saints, but...it's our time!!!

Hey, I know where you're coming from but the Saints thrive on being underdogs and getting no respect. Let's not change it now.

I think many people only saw the one game last weekend of the Saints. That was Drew Brees's worst game ALL SEASON, against the BEST D-line, and the #6 DEFENSE.... and still put up 31 points.

Against an average D like the Colts, if Drew goes back to normal, what do you think is going to happen? He led the league in QB Rating and set the NFL Record for accuracy.

Forget last game. It was a fluke, not the norm. Brees will be back, and he will tear up the Colts D.

And for people who want to say "They gave up 500 yards, and got lucky the Vikings gave the game away".... The Saints led the league in Takeaways. I guess we're just super lucky that every team we play coincidentally gives us the ball?

Where is the credit for the Saints D? When one team leads in takeaways (the Saints), and one team only averages one turnover per game (the Vikings), why do you say the Vikings gave it away with 5 turnovers? I think you are seeing the results of our offense shredding the #1 & #3 ranked defenses. We also held those power running games to around 86 yards each and we hung 100 yards rushing on the vaunted Jets D. Analysts are bandwagon jumpers and they have jumped on the Colts because of their last 2 games.

I think the Saints provide some matchup problems and it will be an interesting game. Our pass rush needs to step up and not allow Brees much time in the pocket.

Fans and analysts can "disrespect" a team all day long and it doesn't mean squat, but I guarantee you that the Colts players aren't looking at the Saints as an easy win.

BTW, we live in Lafayette and watched many Purdue games when Drew was here.

I had to look closely at your location- Lafayette is a city in Louisiana, too! I heard something interesting on the radio today regarding Payton & Drew Brees. I think Manning was sacked 17 times this season and Brees was sacked 21 times, with 5!!! of those coming in the Miami game. It's quite possible this game is going to be a very high scoring game... it will be interesting to see how both defenses address the quarterback protection.

They do have quick releases, thus the low sack total. I think it will be interesting to see how each teams pass rush works because I think both offensive lines are good pass blocking lines(as opposed to run blocking).

Peyton has a QB rating of over 100 when teams blitz, so I'm hoping they rush some extra players to leave our WR unaccounted for. Many people watch how a defense punishes a QB and then assumes the same thing will automatically transfer to the Colts. The Ravens made Tom Brady look like a really old high school quarterback and the Jets made Rivers look very average, yet neither team got to Peyton. Oh, the Jets got Peyton twice on the first two drives, but not after. The Colts are excellent at making adjustments to the defense.

A friend of mine lives in the lofts right behind Arby's on South and Penn...looks like I will be headed there on the 7th...jeez right in the middle of it all lol.

While part of me still wants the Colts to lose, only to punish Irsay and Polian for that bonehead decision to pull the starters from game 16, I do think the Colts will win.

They are firing on all cylinders right now - defense, offense, and with Joseph Addai, they even have some semblance of a running game. We all know how talented Peyton is, and he has so many excellent receivers - Pierre Garcon, Reggie Wayne, Iowa's own Dallas Clark, and that amazing rookie, Austin Collier. The defense has really stepped up recently, and hopefully Dwight Freeney will be healed by the time of the Super Bowl. I just wish my other Iowa guy, Bob Sanders, was playing too.

They are just too quick, too smart, too talented for the Saints to be able to beat them. The Saints were not very impressive in the NFC Championship game. Reggie Bush is so inconsistent, and even Brees seemed scared and confused, and his passes, especially toward the end were weak and wobbly.

I keep forgetting that! My parents are Purdue alumni so it has a special place in my heart I felt so bad for Painter when he played against the Jets and the crowd was booing

I miss my Sanders, but I will sporting his jersey for him during the game!

We shall see...it's funny how the underdog has continued to win and make it to the Superbowl!!!

Haha I wouldn't call the Saints an underdog. They've been number 1 in their conference all season, going head to head with us

Gregg Williams suggests the Saints want to injure Manning

During their march through the playoffs, the New Orleans Saints have battered and bruised (and nearly broken) two future Hall of Fame quarterbacks -- Kurt Warner of the Cardinals and Brett Favre of the Vikings.

They're now setting their sights on a third man whose oversized forehead eventually will be memorialized in bronze.

Defensive coordinator Gregg Williams recently told a Nashville radio station that the Saints plan to rattle Colts quarterback Peyton Manning by hitting him whenever they can, and that the goal is to knock him out of the game.

"This guy's got a great clock in his head," Williams told 104.5 The Zone, via ESPN.com. "The big thing is that he throws the ball so early that we're going to have to do a good job of finding ways to get to him and when we do get to him we're going to have to make sure he gets a couple 'remember me' shots when we get there."
The Saints applied several "remember me" shots to Favre on Sunday, prompting many a Vikings fan to utter a phrase that for broadcast television purposes would be edited to sound like "forget you." One such hit to Favre's legs didn't draw a flag, even though NFL V.P. of officiating Mike Pereira admitted last night that a roughing the passer penalty should have been called.

And Williams won't be reeling in his troops for the Super Bowl. Instead, it sounds like he's willing to risk a few 15-yard walk-offs if it means that Manning eventually will be carted off the field.
"When you put too much of that type of worry on a warrior's mind, he doesn't play all out," Williams said. "If it happens, it happens. And the only thing you'd like for me to say is that if it happens you hope he doesn't get back up and play again."

You hope he doesn't get back up and play again. (We wonder what Archie thinks about his former team's objectives?)

In other words, "We'll gladly trade a penalty or two if it means that we get to see Curtis Painter instead of Peyton Manning."

In other words, the NFL should consider fining not only the players when dirty hits are applied to quarterbacks, but also their coaches.

My good friend is from Indiana and a huge Colt fan. However he is in no way obnoxious about it. As a result I have watched them play a lot and have come to the conclusion that they should win the game handily. Consider this Jets go in to Indy with one of the top running games in the NFL and one of the better defenses in the NFL. The Colts on the other had one of the worst running games in the NFL. Colts hold the Jets to 84 yards rushing and Adai alone almost has 80 yards alomost as much as the Jets whole team. My point is the Colts do what it takes to win. They have an undersized defense but they are fast as all get out. The Saints struggled against the Vikings with the Vikings gaining over 500 yards and losing the turn over battle -4. Even given that the Saints still had to go to overtime to win the game and would not probably been there if it weren't for some of the worst play calling and Farves interception on the last drive. The Vikings gave that game away in the last two minutes. Nothing against New Orleans because I think they had a great season and deserve the success after all these years. But in the last three weeks of the season actually more like the last two, they were trying to win while the Colts were resting their starters. If Indy had played straight through I really believe we would be looking at a 18-0 team looking to go 19-0.

Just my opinion but I think the Colts win this 31-14 without many problems.
