Super Bowl 44 Predictions

Colts! Of course ;) Downtown Indy will be crazzzzzy that night. Cannot wait to experience it...again!

Gotta, say that I will upset if we don't win but I like the Saints :) They have worked hard, I think, and I enjoyed watching their first game back at the Superdome after Katrina. Plus, Drew Brees was a Boilermaker!

As much as I want the Saints to win, I'm afraid that the Colts have the slightly better team.

So, if I were betting, I'd pick the Colts but I'm wishing and hoping for the Saints to win.

This is exactly how I feel. I live in downtown Indy and am hoping for the big win, but at the same time I like the Saints. Oh well....

GO COLTS!~
Who den gonna win but den COLTS?! XDD:rotfl:

While part of me still wants the Colts to lose, only to punish Irsay and Polian for that bonehead decision to pull the starters from game 16, I do think the Colts will win.

They are firing on all cylinders right now - defense, offense, and with Joseph Addai, they even have some semblance of a running game. We all know how talented Peyton is, and he has so many excellent receivers - Pierre Garcon, Reggie Wayne, Iowa's own Dallas Clark, and that amazing rookie, Austin Collier. The defense has really stepped up recently, and hopefully Dwight Freeney will be healed by the time of the Super Bowl. I just wish my other Iowa guy, Bob Sanders, was playing too.

They are just too quick, too smart, too talented for the Saints to be able to beat them. The Saints were not very impressive in the NFC Championship game. Reggie Bush is so inconsistent, and even Brees seemed scared and confused, and his passes, especially toward the end were weak and wobbly.

Plus, Drew Brees was a Boilermaker!

So is Curtis Painter, the Colts back-up QB!

Purdue University, the cradle of quarterbacks!! :thumbsup2

It won't even be close.....

The Colts will win the Super Bowl!!!!!

While I really want the Saints to triumph, Peyton is New Orleans born and bred, so it wouldn't be horrible if the Colts win.

We shall see...it's funny how the underdog has continued to win and make it to the Superbowl!!!

GO SAINTS!

I love that people are writing the Saints off- that's when they triumph!!! They relish being the underdog. Don't forget, their losses in the season came when many of the starters were out.

We love our Saints!!! I heard many people from out of town, who aren't even Saints fans, have booked rooms in New Orleans just to be here for the experience. I :love:my city & my team. WHO DAT!!!

Cheap shots....classless.... are you freaking kidding me??????????? This group of Saints and their coaches are without a doubt the classiest in the NFL. They do more for the community than any other team and that's been stated many times over the past two days. Do your homework, listen to the sports shows! The only reason the game was as close as it was is because Drew Brees had his worst game of the season. Had he been "on", it wouldn't have been close.

We love Manning and his Colts and most New Orleanians have followed his career since high school. We would never think of saying anything negative about him, his team or the team we just played.

Was this the only game you watched the Saints play this season? Totally agree, the Saints as a whole, played one of their worst games of the season but they did what it took to win, force turnovers on defense and protect the ball on offense.

I was raised in South Louisiana, so I am hoping for a Saints win. After all, it has been a long time coming. As others have stated though, Peyton Manning is a hometown boy. If the Colts were playing any other team, I'd be pulling for them.

As to the origins of the Who Dat cheer.... It comes from old jazz musicians and their audience who would chant "Who Dat?" back and forth to each other. Some say it goes back even farther though -- back to vaudeville and minstrel shows. Back as far as the 60's or 70's, it became a cheer at several predominantly African-American universities and high schools. There are many that claim to the the FIRST to use it, so I really don't know which one was first. It started to gain popularity though when Dalton Hilliard went to LSU and many of his fans from high school started cheering it. It couldn't pass Geaux Tigers though and so it didn't become that well known. After Hilliard was drafted and started playing for the Saints though, is when the cheer soared. Finally, the Saints, after many long years, began winning games, and Aaron Neville, another local boy, recorded a new version of "When the Saints Go Marching In." It was a huge hit on local radio stations and during the song there were some, then, Saints players doing the Who Dat cheer.

Anyway, that's the way I always heard the story told.

It took 5 Vikes turnovers for the Saints to win in OT last night. The Colts don't turn it over 5 times a month

Neither did the Vikings until they played the Saints. Vikings have a better D than the Colts and had a better turnover margin than the Colts.

Just because a team usually protects the ball doesnt mean they will protect it from the Saints. We only had one game where we played our starters and didnt get a turnover.

Thanks for the explanation.

Payton Manning and the Colts will pick apart the poor defense of the Saints. The Saints are one of the worst run defense teams in the league. Addai (sp?) will run all over them. It will be a very one sides game.

The Colts have the worst running *offense* though. So shouldn't it balance out?

Besides, like I told Pats fans, Cardinals fans, and Vikings fans: We are ranked poorly, because of yardage. Yardage doesnt win games though. Peyton can put up 400yards, but if 250 come after being down 3 TDs, it doesnt matter. We give up yardage, but get turnovers.

They didn't, Farve only had 7 INTS all year. My point was, despite the Vikes playing poorly the Saints needed OT to win. If Minnesota hadn't had all the turnovers, the Saints would have likely lost....and the Colts won't have 5 turnovers in the SB.

Saints played poorly too. And the Vikings have the #6 D, and despite a bad game by Brees, Bush, and Colston, they *still* put up 31 points. That should scare any Colts fan.

I think many people only saw the one game last weekend of the Saints. That was Drew Brees's worst game ALL SEASON, against the BEST D-line, and the #6 DEFENSE.... and still put up 31 points.

Against an average D like the Colts, if Drew goes back to normal, what do you think is going to happen? He led the league in QB Rating and set the NFL Record for accuracy.

Forget last game. It was a fluke, not the norm. Brees will be back, and he will tear up the Colts D.

And for people who want to say "They gave up 500 yards, and got lucky the Vikings gave the game away".... The Saints led the league in Takeaways. I guess we're just super lucky that every team we play coincidentally gives us the ball?

Where is the credit for the Saints D? When one team leads in takeaways (the Saints), and one team only averages one turnover per game (the Vikings), why do you say the Vikings gave it away with 5 turnovers? Why is it suddenly "The Vikings played bad"??? Why isnt it "Wow...that Saints D can really cause some turnovers, because theyve done it ALL YEAR long!"

The saints D is ranked 25th in the league.....the Colts will put up at least 30 and they wont commit 5 turnovers to help out the 'aints.
