Super Bowl 2003

I'm one of the others booked for the 4day Wonder.
Forgot about the Superbowl. Disney wouldn't cancel the
cruise for lack of people, would they?

By the way, my DD will have just turned 11.

I check the cruise list and still just us signed up.
Maybe there are others but don't know of this board.??!?!

I didn't realize you had a DD11. Mine will have turned 11
in Nov.! Today was her first day of middle school. Is it the same in Canada? Is yours missing school, too, for the cruise? I also have 3 sons, by the way.

I sure hope Disney wouldn't cancel a low booked cruise. Maybe they'd upgrade everyone and/or offer specials!

They will sell the ship out, no question about it.

We had 3 birthdays on the ship (we were travelling with 11) and at dinner they had a special birthday party and gave all the children disney pins (very rare ones and several of the collectors on board really wanted them).

Do either of you families collect the pins...we are close to 200 I think now,

Yes she is missing school but I booked this before I knew that she was gonna get the good teacher. Hope she is a Disney Fan! 'Cause she is a Jan Baby, she is only going into grade 5 but she looks big for her age, even though she was a preemie.

Regarding the pins, we just got into it this year at Easter Time! It was a great way to meet people. I keep our lanyard hanging from a picture in our living room so that we can see it.

It would be nice for an upgrade but I got one of the secret porthole rooms also so don't know if they can match that!

Are you going on any of the excersions? I can't decide and since this is a surprise trip for DD can't very well ask her! This is our first cruise on DCL and her first cruise period!

Is it January yet!

Scratch42, I hadn't planned on doing excursions at this point. Just thought maybe we'd enjoy the ship as this is our first cruise and wanted to keep expenses down. The dolphin encounter sounds really neat and I know my family would love to interact with dolphins, so I may change my mind and try to book that, but we'll see.

We're all just really excited about the cruise. I was going to surprise my kids, but decided to tell them (especially my oldest) because they will have school responsibilities and I know that thinking about our vacations is part of the fun, so I let them in on it. But if all my kids were young like yours, I would probably like to keep it a secret since it's also really hard for kids to wait too long for something---it's not too easy for us adults either, I guess!

Are you going to WDW too at this time? We're not. Just a rushed trip to cruise and staying at Hilton Head with our DVC for two nights after, on the way home. Did you make plans for the night before? I got a room at the Radisson after reading some of the advice on the boards.

We are going to spend two - three days at Universal. We just did the Parks at Disney 3 weeks ago and my freind we are travelling with did Disney last summer. We will leave on Sat and hope to be home by Sunday night to go back to school Monday.

On the way down, our plan is to leave Sat. morn at 4am and hope to be at Canaveral by 5 or 6 pm. If you are driving, when are you leaving?

We are booked. My 2nd. I am taking my mom and sister(their 1st). No hubby & no kids
We have a cat 11. But I am thinking about asking for an upgrade at the port upon check-in depending on the cost of course.

I want to make it a special cruise for mom.

Hi everyone - we are on the "Super Bowl" cruise also. We don't have any kids to worry about, but I'm sure my hubbie will want to watch the game. We didn't choose this cruise for the game, but it was the only time around our 25th anniversary that we could both get off work!

Gee, hope they don't cancel the cruise for low participation - I've been looking forward to this for months, and torturing myself by reading these boards

I could have sworn I saw on TV a month or two ago that the Super Bowl is going to be hosted by Detroit this year.....
