I have yet to book our hotels for the drive down and home for our vacation in November. We are driving from PA with 4 kids and have to stop for the night along the way. Hopefully, I can catch one of these deals.

Wow.... I wonder how hard it will be to get these. Too bad it is only for one night at a time. DD and I haven't taken our Mother/Daughter weekend yet this year and since our budget is unusually tight this year, I wasn't sure what/when to do this. But this may definitely make it more doable! Thank you for the info. This is really helpful. I bought a book called Drive I95 and it tells me where all the hotels are and there is a Super8 right where were going to stop for the night. I will be on the computer at 8on friday trying like crazy to get this rate.

We just returned from Fl and also used the Drive I95 book. It's a great book. The info was right on. It was convenient knowing where the next rest area was and all the detailed info on the exits. The book was also entertaining to read and it passed the time for me. I can't imagine all the research that went into this.

I really like this book and there website is great too. It tells you gas prices and traffic reports. We are driving from NJ and Stopping in SC Exit 193. The book has all the food places and stores around.(ALso where speed traps are too) I'm glad I bought it. It helps my husband when he has to drive places for work.

The bold makes it almost worthless. It would only work if we were driving and only needed one night.

I hope I get one. We are going to Destin, Florida over Christmas break and it would be great to get a room under $10!!! I'll start trying on the 8th and hopefully get one. Good luck to all who are trying!

The fact that they won't give you more than one night makes it worthless? Do you want them to go out of business for this promotion? This is as close as you can get to a buy one, get one free night. No way would I expect them to open this to multiple nites.....if someone is staying two nites, they are basically getting a 40% discount which is a good deal.

It just seems like people expect everything these days.

I am not expecting everything. But if I was not staying at Super 8 and was say going to WDW for 7 days and I got one for $8.88 and paid full price (let use $70) then I am paying (leaving out tax) $428.88 for the 7 days or $61.27 for the trip. That is a 12% discount. I maybe able to do better with other hotel.

For a single night on a trip that I am taking that might be great. Plus, if I understand it correctly you must book the date and pay a non-refundable amount when you try to get it.

To me that may not be worth it. I may have to either change hotel.

No the fact that Friday is 8/8/8 and 8 is in their name, it is a cute promotion. But it is NOT the greatest thing since sliced bread.

My thoughts exactly! If you don't want to try the promotion, don't. THat will give those who want the rooms a better shot at it.


We are planning a trip to Galveston in November. I will give this promotion a try. If we get an $8 room, great, if not, no big loss. We will probably not stay there.
