SO I keep seeing people rave about Sunshine Seasons. Is it really that good? I'd think the best place to eat QS might be in the World Showcase. Anyone have any best QS meals in the WS? What should we order & where & same for Sunshine, what should we try? Any suggestions?:confused3

I honestly like both. At my upcoming trip, I have a couple of epcot days planned and will eat at Sunshine Seasons and one of the WS counter service places for lunch, most likely Norway unless I find myself in the mood for something else.

I had salmon at Sunshine Seasons last year and I really enjoyed it.

Sunshine Seasons-Roasted Beet Salad, Turkey on Focacia, Italian Panini, caesar Salad w/ chicken (I've never eaten dessert there!
Morocco-Tangerine Cafe-Lamb Scharma Platter w/ cous-cous salad, Falafel Sandwich, Meatballs and rice, I find the baklava etc. a bit too sweet , so I skip dessert.
Norway-Kringla bakery-Open faced salmon (WOW), Norwegian Club, Roast beef Sandwich, School bread or Rice Cream for dessert.
France- Boulangerie-Ham on a baguette, creme brulee for dessert

I get tired of the typical fried, burger, hot dog thing, we still like to keep it a little bit healthy between the popcorn, sodas, mickey bars, & Cocktails!

You have to think about where you will be at lunchtime. If you are somewhere in the World Showcase, you do not want to hike all the way back to The Land/Sunshine Seasons. I haven't tried the Mexico CS since it re-opened. I, too, like Norway's Sandwiches and pastries. I also like France, where you can get Sandwiches or Quiche and pastries. Any WS CS is good eats.

We stop at Sunshine Seasons for breakfast on our way in to Epcot in the am.

Sunshine Seasons has variety but I haven't found the food to be anything extraordinary.

We prefer Tangierine Cafe in Morocco. Norway and France are decent too. None of these have the variety of Sunshine Seasons though.

NOTE: Sunshine Seasons is officially a Quick Service eatery.
However, they have a great variety of comfort food, soups/salads,
sandwiches, and an Asian station. They service a quick and good
breakfast. The Grill food for lunch/dinner is excellent - chicken,
salmon and pork chops. There is also a temptingly delicious pastry
counter. What more can one ask. A definite RustyScupper favorite
eatery. And, we recommend only four WDW Quick Service eateries.

We ate at SS one night for dinner after hearing so many people rave about it. I was not impressed, it was ok but I would have much prefered eating somewhere in WS.
It was loud, crowded and even though they do have alot of seating I felt claustraphobic. The desserts were very good though.

Our favorites in the WS were -

Morocco - Tangierine Cafe, fantastic. DH and I decided to split a plate because they give you so much.

Norway - I didn't have anything there I didn't like, it was all very good.

France - At the Bakery, I didn't have any of the sandwiches but the desserts were fantastic so I would hope the sammies would be just as good.

England - The fish and chip shop was great! My mom and I split a basket and it was very tasty. That is really the only fried thing we ate for the week so I didn't feel too bad about it.

Mexico - I like the CS there, I though the Cantina was great. DH and I split an order of nachos and I had one of my moms brisket tacos. All very tasty and fresh, plus it was nice with a spot to sit right on the water.

I think one of the nice things about Sunshine Seasons is the variety of things to choose from. It's great for a larger group, who all might want something different to eat. I like their rotisserie chicken/mashed potatoes/carrots. Great comfort food, and not your typical fast-food burger fare! Their chicken caesar salad and salmon are good, too. And love their bakery selections -- as I said, there's something for everyone!

There are other good places to eat at Epcot, and everyone as their favorites. You'll get lots of suggestions about those (my personal favorite is the fish and chips at Yorkshire, although this is a little heavy if it's too hot, because it's fried).

SS ranks right up there for us...close to WPE in DTD and WS CS meals. We also found that POR CS and ALK CS (Mara) had very good CS meals. If I was already in WS, I would eat there...if I happened to be in FW then I would go with SS. Our last trip my DH and I loved just walking around WS and sharing different meals. Our favorites were in France and Morocco!

I have to agree with many of the PPs. If you are in Future World at lunch time then Sunshine Seasons will have something that should satisfy almost anyone. Not your usual burger and fry place.

But if you are in World Showcase, it just doesn't make sense to trek all the way back to the Land Pavilion. Many of the countries have very good CS places, depending on your tastes. We have enjoyed most of them: Yakitori House, Lotus Blossom Cafe, Tangierine Cafe and the Boulangerie.

Well now I have to know the other 3.................

I had really good blueberry cheesecake at Sunshine Seasons!

Oh my, that sounds like enough to get me there. Yum. I have just re-discovered how amazing cheesecake is. I told myself I didn't like it for years b/c of how much fat is in it. But my husband's family always has it & blueberry is #1 in my book. =)

I really like the variety and quality of the food at SS. I really don't like the atmosphere.

I love Tangerine Cafe in Morocco, but other then that if I wanted a meal I probably would go to Sunshine Seasons. I love the beet and goat cheese salad, and they have an excellant dessert selection.

while there is a big selection at the sunshine..I find it very chaotic to eat there..between people trying to find seats, and people coming down and up the steps to go to soarin I personally do not like the atmosphere there.

I must rather get a quick service in world showcase...and it seems I can always find a seat in the american pavilion outside.

I like both for different reasons. Sunshine Seasons has a wide variety of food and I have always had a good meal there. The World Showcase also has a wide variety but the food is more ethnic, which I personally like, and is spread out so you can grab multiple small meals around the lagoon or sit down at a TS restaurant.

They are pretty different experiences and are hard to compare.

I said it in another post but my family actually thought sunshine seasons stunk - literally. The place just smelled bad to us. We really enjoyed a counter service meal in Mexico. We had the Nachos, chicken tacos and beef tacos. I wasn't crazy about the beef tacos but the chicken tacos with lime and pico de gallo were tasty. I also wanted to try Morocco but not everyone in our group did so we skipped it. Maybe next time.....

Another option is to do a tasting of desserts around the world. :rolleyes1 We did this one day and really enjoyed it.
