On our last trip, my family and I had lunch at SS. The place was PACKED that it took around 40 minutes to get our food.

-What is the best time to go? (I dont remember when we went...maybe after 12pm)

-Is it always this crowded?

P.S. Our trip was in August 2007

I've seen SS packed as well - however in May I stopped in to grab dinner around 6:30pm it was totally empty. There were maybe 6 other tables occupied & no one even up at the food court. I got a really good vegetarian platter (I'm not a vegetarian but it looked really appetizing) -and I will get it again next time I go. I sure lucked out with my timing!

For any of the quick service places between 12pm and 1pm is peak lunch time so be prepared to deal with lines.

We have been to SS many times from 9am to 3pm and have never ever seen it busy....there are always plenty of tables and no lines for food. (and this is at many different times of the year)

There are always a ton of people in the land for Soarin and the other attractions and Garden Grill but the dining area is pretty tame

I used to have luck there too Nicki, but not this last time. We were there in June and the crowd was unbelievable!! Had to fight just to get a table, never seen such a zoo! Next time I'm not taking any chances, I'm going either really early or much, much later. BTW, really enjoyed your last dining review!!!:goodvibes

Now June I can totally see that, we were in AK and Epcot and HS for a long weekend in June and it was just a sea of people so true SS may have been super slammed.

Thanks you! Glad you enjoyed it, cannot wait to write another review in 6 weeks!

Lots of people don't realize it's open after 7:00, when FW technically closes. I had dinner there one evening around 8:15, and maybe one or two other tables were occupied. Also, maybe I was just lucky, but I went there one morning shortly after opening, after I'd gotten my FP for Soarin, and it was about half full. However, when I left, it was very busy.
