I noticed on sunshine rewards that they are now limiting their gift cards to amazon, disney or paypal cash out.
Does anyone know if there is an expiration date on the disney gift cards? Or the amazon gift cards? I'm thinking of cashing out just in case they stop doing amazon or disney!

Thanks!

I don't know about Amazon, but I think I read somewhere that Disney gift cards do not expire. I have 2 $100 cards from SR that will nicely pay for the Minnie Character breakfast I'm springing for with the family :)

Thanks! I'm sure hoping they don't expire. I figure I may as well cash out just in case they change anything!

The Disney gift cards do not have an expiration date- you can accumulate them and use as needed. The Amazon cards do not have an expiration date either. I usually apply the Amazon cards to my account as soon as I get them. When you check out on Amazon, you have the option to use the gift card balance or not on each purchase (in case you want to save it for something specific).

Back in October, Sunshine Rewards posted that at least 90% of all cashouts through their site were for Paypal, Amazon gift cards and Disney gift cards. They made the decision to scale back to these 3 cashout options in order to streamline the process and try to get the payout closer to 4 weeks. From time to time, they may offer other cashout options. I have been a member with SR since the very beginning and I am confident that these 3 cashout options will remain. Good luck on your earnings!

I am quite sure Disney gift cards will remain a Sunshine Rewards option - too many Disney nuts like us on that site! :goodvibes As previously posted, Disney and Amazon cards do not expire.

I have to say that my antenna are up and Im getting an uneasy feeling about that website. First they extended the amount of time it took to credit rewards. Then sunshinecindy, who was the righthand gal for the website owner, left to pursue other activities. And now they are limiting cash outs to just a couple types of rewards. And when was the last time anyone saw a daily click on the website? Of course each and every one of those actions has been given a valid reason for occurring. But Im still wary about it. I have seen alot of rewards sites go down without notice but often the warning signs were there if you looked hard enough. I wouldnt wait to build up too much in my account before cashing out.

I totally disagree with this post. I have the utmost confidence in this website. I actually went to college with the owner and she was one of my sorority sisters. Tricia is really upfront with all the members, and she posted the change in the rewards plenty enough ahead of time for people to make plans for their accounts. As for sunshinecindy..without getting too personal, it was a family business, and sometimes, for the good of the family, things have to happen. But that does not give me any qualms about the integrity of the website. As for the daily click....there is plenty of opportunities to earn money, and the number of daily surveys they have added in the last six months more than makes up for the lack of daily clicks. So I hope people aren't deterred from using the site at all. It's great! I honestly dont' think there is a single other rewards site out there where you get as quick a response if you are having troubles, questions or whatever.

You may be right. But, I wouldn't read too much into sunshinecindy leaving. She is Tricia's(the owner's) mother.

I guess I may be reading the wrong tea leaves, LOL! Thanks for the clarification. Its just that Ive been burned by too many rewards programs that either went poof overnight or they raised the number of points needed for a cash out without warning. I dont even keep much in my disney rewards visa because I dont trust chase to keep the program going. I cash out at $50 and buy a disney gift card right away!

Like the other posters said, I don't get that feeling at all. I think Sunshine Rewards has always been very forthcoming about credits, the economy, and the effect it has had on their business as well as their merchants. Like all rewards sites, there is the potential for people to make fraudulent purchases and cash out, or to buy items, cash out, and then return the items. The extra time to receive gift cards limits that somewhat, but it can't prevent it entirely.

I always cash out for Disney cards, so the changes don't affect me, but I've often wondered how a business like SR could effectively manage time and money if they had one person cashing out for $25 for Home Depot and another for $25 for Old Navy and another for $10 for Starbucks. That's a lot of time and resources spent on cashouts.

I'm not sure why Sunshinecindy left, but as much as I love my mom, I'm not sure it would be a good thing for family harmony for us to be in business together. Adding in that they live half a country away from each other, it probably started to not make sense if someone local to Tricia could do the job.

I also have to disagree that these things are a sign of the company going under or doing bad. As I said, I have been a member since early 2006 and have seen the ups and downs that mimic the economy. All companies have to make decisions in the best interest of their bottom line whether that is policies or personnel.
I can't think of another time when I felt there was more earning potential than there is currently. While they did initially have paid clicks, Sunshine Rewards is so much more than a "paid to click site". They have positioned themselves as a loyalty site which imo has more credibility and longevity.

I can only speak for myself, but I have made (and received) over $4300 with Sunshine Rewards and love using that money for vacations and gifts! The majority of my earnings are from the 7 daily surveys and some online shopping. I think some people are looking for a "get rich quick" type of rewards site and that's not what Sunshine Rewards is about. I personally like the stability and honesty that has made Sunshine Rewards successful and love my Disney and Amazon gift cards!!:)

If you are a member, you should join the forum as there is a wealth of information and great members there to help you earn more. And if you are not a member but looking for a way to earn a little extra for Disney or whatever your passion, you should check out Sunshine Rewards!

OP: As many have stated, they don't expire. If you use any for your deposit or pre-payments though, make sure to keep the card. If you cancel, they will refund the original gift card.

Other stuff: Cindy was the one who handled the cashouts and purchasing of giftcards. Tricia did the disney ones (and I thing the cash/paypal). I imagine that was one factor in eliminating them. She is the owner's mother..not just a righthandgal :) As for daily clicks, they were maybe 1 or 2 cents if that? That site is primarily a survey and shopping cash back site...never was a click site. Tricia (the owner) is very published on alot of rewards venues, she is also a lawyer, so knows very well the ramifications of just deserting any users. Not saying it would never happen, but I could bet dollars to donuts that if the site did close, every account would be given their rewards. Nothing in life is guaranteed, but considering all the sites that have come and gone, and they are still here. Just my 2 cents!

Does anyone know how long it takes to receive an Amazon gift card?

Also, do you receive any kind of notification that the gift card has been processed, or sent, like you do on MyPoints?

I have been a member of Sunshine Rewards for about a year and I have to admit I was a bit skeptical when I heard about the changes to reward cash outs at SR. Until several members posted on the SR forum about Pay Pal. They told me how to set up a Pay Pal account and link it to my bank account. Sunshine pays all the fees for Pay Pal so I get every penny deposited into my account. The savings account PP is linked to is a separate one that I opened for vacations, special treats for my family, etc. I don't have to worry about which gift card to get or when. The money is in my bank account when I need it to use however I want. We can now cash out for Pay Pal twice a month and the money is transferred 30 days later. If SR had not changed the rules I never would have realized that Pay Pal is a much better option for me! I am saving for my next family trip to Disney in 2013 and I love seeing the balance in my "special account" growing.

I love Sunshine Rewards and am approaching $1000 in earnings since last April. I like the fact that it is a small business with with lots of interaction with the owner.

Most of the other giftcards were ordered online, I believe. When I cashed out for ON cards, they came to me directly from ON, for example. Others I believe were ordered from the companies, sent to them, then sent on to us.

Just wanted to second the fact that she's a lawyer and I believe is an honorable person.

Because she runs things the way she does, trying her hardest to make sure that she is paid by the companies before we are paid (or as close as possible), it makes me feel that she isn't floating funds. Which means we're safer.

Any cashouts should be expected to take 6 weeks. Just count on that.

She has been keeping an ongoing thread and posts when cashouts are done.

I am LOVING that idea! Thanks! Might just do that. And that way if I saw any deals on Disney giftcards at the store, with rewards or whatever, I could take advantage of that and still have my "booze giftcard" LOL. (so much easier to buy a slushie in Epcot when you aren't using cash or a card hooked to your account...you've already spent the money on that GC, might as well use it!)

I don't have survey patience, LOL, but am a SuperMember on there so my purchases credit in less than 2 weeks. I have earned around $1400 plus & used part of it on a previous trip - it paid for our Japan meal.

This trip the entire room is being paid for by the gift cards. I'm hoping maybe I can stop each day at the desk & just apply a couple of them to the account so the poor person behind the desk doesn't have a heart attack. No they are not all $25 cards - they are mostly $100 & some $50 cards, but still will be time consuming.

You can combine all those gift cards onto one or two. I saw a post about doing it a while back and saved the link:

It will certainly make your vacation easier and you won't have to worry about the poor front desk CM.

Thank you - I'm writing that down. I appreciate the suggestion.
