Day 6 – Thursday, May 5th 2011
Jambo Everyone!

Welcome back to my Pre-Trip Report. Today’s [daily park] update will be a little bit different, because we are stepping outside of the box and going to a different park. Yes, today we are venturing off into the wild, into the unknown, into the…DISNEY’S ANIMAL KINGDOM PARK!!!

A lot of people criticize DAK for not having many ‘thrill’ rides. Well, I’m going to show them wrong. Trust me, there are ‘thrill’ rides, they just may not be as obvious to some people. I mean if you are afraid of spiders, It’s Tough to Be a Bug would be considered a thrill ride because the entire time your eyes would be shut and you would be screaming [or maybe that is just me?]. Regardless, if you fear it, than it is a ‘thrill’ ride.

Right, so as usual, let’s take a quick glance at our timeline of what we will be doing throughout the day…shall we:

7:30am – Gasparilla Grill and Games
1:00pm – Flame Tree Barbecue
5:35pm – Cape May Café Buffet

So as you can see, we only have 1 reservation, which is nice because this is our only day at Animal Kingdom. We figure that if we eat lunch in the park than we would be able to stay at the park for a little bit longer than we usually do. That is also why we are eating at the food court for breakfast, so we could get to the park a bit earlier than we usually do.

Let’s take a look at our ‘Must-Do’s’ for Animal Kingdom:
- It’s Tough to Be a Bug
- Expedition Everest
- Dinosaur
- Kilimanjaro Safaris
- Rafiki’s Planet Watch (Conservation Station)

We might also do a few of the animal walking treks (Maharaja and Pangani).

Since I've only been to WDW once before I don't know if I have any specific thing that I do when the trip gets close. Excitement and nervousness is most certainly a part of it though, I'm sure.

Day 7 – Friday, May 6th 2011
Today is our second day at the Magic Kingdom. While the attractions that we might visit may be the same as our first day at the Magic Kingdom, I don’t think that we will be able to do all of our “Must-Do’s” on our first day.

So in that case, let’s take a look at our timeline for today:

7:30am – Grand Floridian Café
Park – Magic Kingdom
1:50pm – Grand Floridian Café
4:50pm – Garden View Tea Lounge

So let’s take a look at our “Must-Do’s” for the Magic Kingdom:

Adventureland:
- Pirates of the Caribbean
- Jungle Cruise
- Swiss Family Treehouse

Fantasyland:
- Peter Pan’s Flight
- The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
- Snow White’s Scary Adventures

Frontierland:
- Splash Mountain
- Big Thunder Mountain Railroad

Liberty Square:
- Hall of Presidents
- Haunted Mansion

Main Street USA:
- Walt Disney World Railroad

Tomorrowland:
- Tomorrowland Transit Authority
- Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin

We enjoy eating at the Grand Floridian Café, especially for lunch. I hopefully will remember to take pictures of the food before I eat it. Last trip, I forgot a few times (especially with the ice cream treats).

Day 8 – Saturday, May 7th 2011
Today is our last park day (it hasn’t even happened and I am already sad). So our last day will be spent at Epcot. Of course, we do have a fabulous lunch planned for our last day, and I am really looking forward to it. This lunch will give me a chance to try some new foods that I would not necessarily be trying at home. So let’s take a look at the timeline for our last day at the most magical place on earth:

7:30am – Captain Cook’s Snack Company
Park – Epcot
12:05pm – Biergarten
4:50pm – Garden View Tea

So as you can see, the lunch reservation that I am excited for is Biergarten. We tried this place for the first time on our 2010 trip and we really enjoyed the food there. We enjoyed the food so much that we decided to make a second trip there on our 2011 trip.

So I’m going to post the list of what we would like to do on our visit to Epcot. This is our second time there, like I mentioned before, but like the other parks and days – I’m not sure what we will be able to do on our first visit.

- The American Adventure
- Club Cool
- Innoventions
- Living with the Land
- Test Track
- The Seas with Nemo and Friends
- World Showcase

Of course we would like to explore the Flower and Garden Festival in more detail so we will probably be doing that on this day. Also, we would like to explore World Showcase more and so again we will probably be doing that on this day as well.

Who knows, we might even go to a different park along with Epcot if we want to do something one more time. We will just have to wait and see where time takes us!

Day 9 – Saturday, May 8th 2011
Today is the departure day. Much like our last park day, I am sad to be writing this portion of the pre-trip report. Let’s take a look at our plans for this day:

7:30am – Grand Floridian Café
2:00pm – Plane leaves Orlando

So our last breakfast is at the Grand Floridian Café. We chose to eat here because its located at our hotel and because we love this restaurant so much. The last day is a bit sad, but I know that we will be returning soon enough (next year). But still, nobody likes to leave right?

Our departure day is usually crammed with last minute packing and then getting to the airport 3 hours in advance. If we get to the airport 3 hours in advance that would bring us to . . . 11:00am. This means that we have to leave our resort by 10:15am or so, simply because we don’t really know where we are going.

We usually like to browse the shops before we leave just in case we find something that we would like to buy but did not have the chance to previously.

This update is going to be kind of short because the departure day is sad and depressing. But still…at least we are going right?!

It's weird to say "I'm going to Disney this weekend". I always find that the closer we get to the trip, the harder it is to believe that it is really almost here. I bet once we get on that plane I will believe it is real. For the rest of my pre-trip report I will be doing my favorite thing in the entire world. It's kind of like a game almost...but it's called "This Time Next Week". Here's how you play:

You look at the time (ex. 11:45am) and you think what you will be doing this time next week. I'll give an example from Saturday.

[Saturday April 23 2011 at 10:30am - This time next week I will be sitting on a plane waiting to take off from the Pearson International Airport].

So periodically until the trip I will be making posts like that. It helps to pass the time, and it also helps to keep the excitement going (not that it would ever go away).

This Time Next Week. . .

It's 12:00pm. This time next week we will be at Magic Kingdom. This time next week we will probably be heading to the Haunted Mansion or the Hall of Presidents and then off to our lunchtime reservation at the Liberty Tree Tavern.
