Sunscreen in the Parks?

I'm wondering if the aerosol spray-on sunscreen is allowed in the parks? I'm going to be touring alone for a couple of days and am hyper-sensitive to the sun. I've found the spray-on suncreen is the best way to get coverage in the hard to reach places. I had a bottle taken away at a Nascar race because it was not allowed.

Please respond if you know the answer, or if you have any alternative ideas. I'm going in October so it is still going to be too warm to totally cover up.

Thanks!

I have taken it many times - never had a problem.

Have fun!

Yes you most certainly can use spray sunscreen. I use Neutrogena spray and I love it! We will be there in October as well. Have a safe trip!

I use aerosal suncreen in the parks all the time.

Try the Neutrogena Fresh Cooling Body Mist Sunblock - it feels nice and refreshingly cool when you apply it.

Never had a problem, just be careful where you spray - try to get away from other people as they might not appreciate it if they get sprayed as well.

I much prefer the spray on, the only problem is they don't make small cans that you can put in your carry on luggage.

We always take a can of sunscreen into the parks. Never had a problem. Have fun touring!

Considering we forgot to bring ours one day to the park, and bought a can of spray on sunscreen.... I am going to say yes. :goodvibes (Just try to not have to buy it there because it was about $13 or something insane!)

The only concern that I have is the airplane ride. I've heard conflicting reports. Is it okay to bring a regular aerosol can (hairspray or sunscreen) on a plane? Will it explode due to the pressure?

You can't take more than a 3oz container in the TSA allowed quart bag with you in carry-on, but you can take larger sizes in your checked baggage, no problem. I've traveled with both aerosol sunscreens and hair sprays without any problems.

And I am going to look for that cooling mist Neutrogena sunscreen that Tonya mentioned. I use the Neutrogena lotion sunscreen (100+) and love it.

I always put these kinds of things in a gallon-sized ziploc. Even the non-aerosol stuff worries me. For us this includes: sunscreen, saline solution, hairspray, toothpaste, shampoo. Anything that could cause a wicked mess goes in a ziploc. We've had a few small-ish leaks, but never a true blowout.

HTH,
Hillary

Thumbs up for Neutrogena... I buy so much of that stuff... wear it almost everyday. :thumbsup2
