Sunscreen for kid with eczema

Thanks for the question and the answers! I was going to post this question myself. My 4 month old will be 6 months old when we go and he has a sensitivity to milk. He gets terrible eczema. Poor little man. We use aquaphor and CerVe lotion.

I have a queston about eczema. My 15 mt old has had this break out on his face since he was born, then they were calling it baby acne. He had white heads and black heads that have caused scarring. He is still having a few breakouts and they said it was not normal for his age. Next week he is being tested to see if any foods are causing it or to see if it is eczema. He get these break outs only on his cheeks. After all of that my questions is does this sound like eczema?

We used Blue Lizard for my little kids, I think someone already said it. May you have a great time, have fun and enjoy in your upcoming trip. Looking forward in hearing more from you after you came back.

Have a nice day everyone. :)

I haven't tried them yet, but our pediatricain recommended vanicream and Gator for our son with eczema.

We have also used Vanicream and Blue Lizard (I think BL has one specifically for sensitive skin). They have worked well! Not sure if anyone mentioned but to get the vanicream you order at the pharmacy window and sometimes takes a day or two to get in. Last year I found Blue Lizard sensitive at Ulta. However, I would love to find a spray since these are hard to rub in.

I have been using a sun screen from AVEDA for about 10 yrs on my DS who has excema, It worked and we never swithced!:goodvibes

My DD5 has severe eczema. We have to use a daily moisturizing reiment for her. She can not use any of the aerosol spray sunscreens. They burn her like crazy. I read on the back of one of the cans that it contained alcohol. If you have a child with eczema you know that would be a terrible outcome :) We use the Baby Aveeno for her and it doesn't seem to trigger any reaction. Good luck! I know how hard it is! Have a great trip! :goodvibes

100% agree. The spray on sunscreen is a no-go for my dd with eczema. It burns her like crazy!! She hates it.

Forgot to mention that we have also used California Baby. While I like the California Baby, we live in Texas and it is just not strong enough. The issue with vanicream is that it's not waterproof so not alway a good choice either. We have searched high and low for a sunscreen that is waterproof that actually works well at blocking the sun AND doesn't irritate her already irritated skin. I might have to try out the Blue Lizard. Swim team is coming up and that is when the major skin issues begin.
